Zucker's Bagels & Smoked Fish reviews
16I dont normally like food places like this but this place was amazing and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend trying this place out if you are in the city.
Went on Friday morning around 8am and there were no lines. When I went up to order, I requested the smoked trout and the counter guy recommended The Alton. Which has Smoked Trout, Plain Cream Cheese, Avocado, Horseradish and Tobiko on a bialy. It wound up being delicious! I would highly recommend this.
My second order was for a pastrami smoked salmon on garlic bread w scallion cream cheese which was ok.
They have so many varieties and I look forward to coming back to try more.
Terrible. 2 hours delivery time. Cancelled my order and got a full refund. Avoid at all costs
Great place to get a lox bagel (not many other bagel options) line is out the door but there is great service and good food
Great tasting food overall. AVOID this place on the weekends during prime hours at all costs. Also DO NOT order online ahead of time. You are better off waiting in line and getting your order that way.
It seems as the most of the staff is there for people in the line. They take your order, you pay, and you wait 10-20 min for the person who took your order to come to the cashiers and call out your name. The problem here is that it seems like they have a separate team handling online orders. There's not as many staff dedicated to online orders, so once they take your order online (and money), you're stuck waiting for that smaller team to make your order. To make matters worse, when that team brings online orders to the front rack, NO ONE calls out the name on the ticket, so you're left fighting your way amongst the waiting crowd to either ask if your order is ready or flip the bags around to check if your name is on the ticket.
Again food is great, but the customer service for online ordering in non-existent. If you like misery, then order online for pickup during the prime time weekend. Else, wait in line or order online during off-peak hours.
Not worth the line (1 hour on weekend mornings), especially since more often then not they won’t make half their menu because “the grill is too busy”. Want to be a fan of Zuckers but for the premium price it’s not a good experience at all
As a visitor from Europe this is a true NY experience besides the excellent bagels. Highly recommended!
Food was amazing and fresh, and despite being packed with people and a line out the door, the staff was friendly, responsive, and helpful. If you want a great New York bagel experience, this is it.
The sweetest most hard working staff! Amazing old world experience. Totally worth the wait
I like Zuckers bagels but they need to improve their system of processing online orders both through their own website and through 3rd party vendors such as Seamless. They have never made the estimated time which is usually 40 minutes. Be sure to add 30 minutes on top of that. Waiting over an hour for bagels is ridiculous. There are plenty of good bagel shops in the Midtown and Murray Hill area. Going to the store is a little more efficient but prepare yourself for long lines.
Asked for toasted they ignored the request. It ruins the otherwise good bagel.
Also the attitude of some staff members are stinkier than the onion breaths.
We stopped for Bagels. They have all kinds of bagels, sandwiches, coffee chicken, etc. The line was long but it moved fairly fast. The place is small so you may not find seating inside. You also need to speak up because because there's a lot of noise and they won't hear your order correctly. Overall is a good place to stop by for bagels I took one star off because they got our order wrong twice so it took twice as long to get it.
The best gluten free bagels we’ve had. Good coffee and a Decent amount of indoor seating too
Came to Zucker’s with high expectations. I’m no expert of NYC bagels, so my review won’t be about that, but rather the service we received. I came with 3 family members, and as we were ordering, our server was extremely rude and unprofessional. Yes, I know it was crowded and there was a lot going on, but this is Manhattan; it’s always crowded, there’s always something going on. For the traditional sandwich, which comes with tomatoes, onions, and capers, I asked that they please remove the tomatoes, and was rudely, well, yelled at that “no substitutions are allowed! ” First of all, I asked you to remove something, not add anything. Secondly, when we clarified this, this one server continued to raise his voice and tell us he couldn’t do what we were asking. Not only did he treat us rudely and unprofessionally, but when I finally got my sandwich, it had barely half of the salmon that everyone else got in my group, and we all ordered the same sandwich. Petty much? Food was fine, but given the choice, I wouldn’t come back here. Sorry I have to say this, as their bagels are really good.
A place so good we stopped twice. I got the classic breakfast sammie, both with and without the potato latke (I liked it both ways!) on an everything bagel. Delish!
My partner tried the Flatiron the first day and the Leo the second. He preferred the Flatiron because of the way the salmon was presented (raw vs smoked).
I'll be stopping again!
