A-1 Vet Care, Coshocton OH

Very nice staff and very accommodating with a last minute appointment for someone who had never been there. Would highly recommend them if your pet is in need of any kind of help.

I called A-1 Vet on a Thursday afternoon to see how fast I could get Ava in for an exam for an emergency. Luckily, they had just had a 10am cancellation on the next day. As a new patient and in an emergency, I had to take the opening. The woman who answered the phone and scheduled was prompt, courteous, and empathetic.

When I brought Ava in, the lobby was not filled with other patients to be seen, for which I was relieved. We all know the anxiety of bringing a sick dog or cat in to the welcoming of other sick or upset pets.

Ava was scheduled to see Dr. Meredith Evans, and as soon as we arrived, we were immediately directed to the exam room. Dr. Evans was still in surgery, but I didn't wait but 5 minutes until she was ready to see Ava.

Let me tell you - Dr. Evans was amazing. She was compassionate, gentle, and made Ava feel at such ease. She quickly diagnosed Ava, provided her treatment recommendation (emergency surgery), and gave me an estimate right there. I had no doubt Ava was in good hands, so I took the recommendation. I'm so glad I did. I left Ava with them for the day while I worked. Ava was ready to be picked up by the end of day.

When Ava came out of surgery, she was still inebriated and groggy, so Dr. Evans helped to load her in my car (Ava is a big girl).

Two days after surgery, although she is taking some pain meds once a day, she has returned to her normal self, and other than the incision site, you would never guess Ava was sick a couple day ago.

I can't thank Dr. Evans enough. If you're in need of a veterinarian, Dr. Evans is who you want to see!

Dr Poland is great. Have known him for 38yrs.
The prices are getting high but where aren't they. Jeff could be a family Dr, great guy.

A good friend of mine takes her dog here and has for years.because she doesn't drive, I take her.the staff is very friendly.she really likes this place but her dog totally dislikes it

There really should be a way to leave negative stars. We have used A1 for a while, but when we had an EMERGENCY situation, they couldn’t be bothered to see our Molly. They gave me a referral to literally any other vet in Coshocton. The have the highest vet rates in Coshocton, and a staff that has zero empathy for the creature that they cash in on. On the upside VALLEY VETERINARY is the only way to go as far as I’m concerned.

All 3 doctors are amazing! They make you feel like family when caring for your pets. Would recommend to anyone! Love all the caring staff we have

My mom found a dying stray dog that is nothing but skin and bones. The dog would not eat or drink anything. She brought the dog to A-1 and they would not even look at this dog. The receptionist was very rude and mean. A-1 turned them away even though they knew what condition this dog is in. Take your animals to Christy Nicely instead of A-1. Christy was in the middle of surgery and very busy but still took this dog in and is providing medical care to this suffering dog.

They are the best. Wouldn't take Haven anywhere else. They even have an awesome kennel with great staff who know how to handle "special" animals like it Haven.

Very compassionate. They were able to get us in under an emergency status. I appreciate everything they did for us. Thank you for being an exceptional part of our community.

We are not talking about money here.
If you want a vet family who cares about all your fur critters this is the place you want to be.
Fur babies are like anything else they can be expensive.
From there 1st vaccines to spade/nuedering.sickness.split pads.broken.worms.fleas.ear infection too much swimming.yearly check ups.meanness.nervousness.or just a pop in to lather the girls at the front desk with kisses.
If your going to take this responsibility on try to make a fur baby fund if you can't then maybe rethink.
A1-Vet has been taking care of our animals for years and my father-in-laws animals.
The staff is # one. You might not be able to get in that exact day but they are going to try and talk you through some scenarios to calm you down so you can better accommodate your love one. Sometimes they will call you back because they can squeeze you in.
The drive through is awesome for med refills. It's not like some places where the animal odor is putting you off.
We have a pitty that likes one vet better than the other and that is OK they don't treat you different.
She is very skittish she knows when she goes to the vet what to expect. They will hand me her muzzle ill put it on and everything is fine.
She is not a biter never has but any dog can bite its a respect to me and my babe and a protection for her caregiver.
Everyone has a story and it's not always good.
We adopt pitties some have made it some have not.
But A1-vet has been there every step of the way.
We have an old boy who has issues they are there for us even if it's just because I'm nervous.
Give them a try let them become part of your fur babes life

Excellent care for our pets. Can take a while to get in sometimes, but they have always gotten us in immediately for emergencies.

Our kitten had diarrhea with vomiting. He checked her and gave a course of treatment that cleared her up quickly. She is back to normal.
I do recommend A1 vet. Compassionate and well qualified.

They still know how to treat you and your pets. I went in because my dog is allergic to flea bites and we got what we needed and that was that
