This experience was anything but good. From the moment we walked into the door, we acknowledged a receptionist with a rude demeanor who also ended up being the therapist we had an appointment with. We began the appointment in the lobby "because we were the only ones there". However, we did end up being interrupted by the local fire department and then proceeded to a small, closet like room to finish the session. From the beginning of the session to the end, it took everything in me to not walk out The therapist was never empathic nor did she seem to have a bone of compassion in her. When someone is dealing with an emotional matter, no matter how small it may be to the therapist, its huge and a big deal to the person sitting across from you; show some class and show that you have maybe an ounce of care in you, PLEASE.

Never even got in because after doing the intake process over the phone, they said they'd call in a week to make an appointment. I called ten days later and was told that there was actually a TWO MONTH waiting list.

If they'd told me that, I could have at least started looking elsewhere. Thanks for literally nothing

I came in and talked with a lady who at the end of our time told me to make another appointment with her and then the next day I got a call saying her schedule was full and they didn't know when they could reschedule me and they would call me when she had availability.never got a call back.that was a year ago.

It definitely isn't as bad as people make it out to be, I'm confused as to why they have so many bad reviews! The building is nice, it's very cozy and isn't as outdated as people make it seem. There isn't a commercial sized parking lot of course, but it isn't small either. In busier hours it can be a bit tough finding a spot, but it normally isn't packed and you can find a spot with ease. It doesn't have a "smell" as I've seen people talk about. They do have cats in the building, but they don't have a smell at all. They leave you alone for the most part, unless you're in a session and one decides to love on you. Not hostile or aggressive AT ALL.

The counselor I have is very nice and it's like talking to a friend, which I prefer for my counselors. It's more of a personal experience and it's easier for me to talk about things in that kind of environment, so I enjoy that. I go in person, but they do offer online sessions which is nice. I've seen people say stuff about how you're going to do most of the talking, which from what I've experienced is true. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. You're kind of going to have to talk, they can't read your mind. Just because you prefer to be talked to rather than talking doesn't make it a negative on their part, it's preference.

The only negative I've experienced is their lack of covid precautions. They don't require social distancing and the only people I see wearing a mask are the front desk workers and the clients. Every counselor I've seen in the building has not been wearing a mask. They also have a sign in their waiting room about no medial masks allowed? Not entirely sure what that means.

Overall, I do recommend. This place isn't bad by any means.

Pro’s:

very flexible; they have online and in person sessions. They have some evening and weekend sessions (in addition to regular business hours).

Reasonable cash pay prices but also do insurance (in particular they take Tricare which many places won’t, because it doesn’t pay very well for mental health visits).

Variety. They have a lot of different counselors with a variety of “areas of interest”, such as ADHD or addiction or LGBTQ issues.

Cons:

yes, it’s an older building and not super plush (I only mention it because I see some folks have complained about it; honestly if you need a resort, definitely go elsewhere)

Parking can be a problem at popular hours (not enough spaces). This has been a lot easier since the pandemic because many sessions have moved online.

Some of their therapists are trainees/interns and after they do their time they move on. We have lost at least one counselor that really worked great for my kiddo because of this.

Bottom line:

I’ve been super happy with these guys. Don’t be put off by the negative reviews. Definitely don’t hesitate to go elsewhere or change your counselor if you don’t click, but there is a lot to like here.

This place is a joke. I strongly suggests not to go here. When we walked in we had an uneasy feeling then they had a cat in the waiting room smelled bad. The counselor just sat there and looked at my son while he talked did really talk to him. This made my son uncomfortable. I called to make an appointment and asked a question. The lady said she would have the counselor call me a week later I still hadn't heard form her. I called and left another message days later I called again left another message later that day called again and was told that I had to make an appointment to talk with the counselor. They are just after the money not to help people.

Very welcoming, yes it's an old home converted into a business, but I felt very comfortable in Jeff's office. He's a good listener and makes statements that really stick with you and make you think. The staff has always been polite and helpful!

I work with Wes and rather enjoy my time in the office. The man is knowledgeable, a fantastic listener, and offers sound advice.

I've experienced great services for one of my my clients who has an extremely involved mental health history and well as trauma. They are friendly and always welcoming with a smile.

At my sons first appointment the counselor comes out and announces to my husband and I that my son was not suicidal! Which we already knew! She also announced other things they had talked about privately! I felt that was his personal information that didn’t need to be announced in a waiting room full of people! Very unprofessional! Also, that place needs a extreme cleaning! Smells horrible! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I wish I could recommend, but I can't.

The therapist I saw was fantastic. Their building has character, I found it charming. I would have gladly continued therapy with them. In fact, in my line of work, I frequently refer people to therapy. This had been my first place of referral until I was unapologetically charged close to 4x more than what I had been told (twice) the copay would be. When I tried to sort things with the billing department, there seemed to be no compunction in charging nearly 4x more than they originally said they would, nor compassion for any potential complications a client trying to come up with that much extra money with no notice might have.

So, I wish I could recommend them because both the therapist and atmosphere were great, but I really can't due to the snafu with their support staff.

Absolutely the worse first impression IN THE WORLD! The office is old and smelled like someone was cooking egg mcmuffins. The counselor (Sheila) was totally unprofessional and treated my kid like she was being interrogated. We left there feeling horrible.do not waste your time. Go somewhere else. New direction is the Bad direction.

Not impressed. I’ve been canceled on 3 times and haven’t been seen since February. Go somewhere else, don’t waste your time here.

I called to see if we could meet the counselor in advance for a quick “meet and greet” and she said they don’t do that. Wish they would.

We made an appointment for my son asking for a male therapist. When we had the intake we went through the whole appointment and were told at the end that this therapist wasn’t accepting new patients and it would be at least 1 month to get another apoointment. To have my son go through this telling personal information and then to take our money is unethical. Go somewhere else where you are treated with respect.

The counseling is great and I love my counselor. However, the parking lot is very dark and scary. They could really use some lights out there.
