My wife and I have owned and even bred and raised Cairn and for the past 25 plus years Scottish Terriers. My oldest brother is a breeder and profesional handler of Pugs in Alabama.
With this as a background I can say unequivocally that Dr Steven Hicks and his wonderful staff are the best I have had the pleasure to call our Vet. Its the obvious caring. Its genuine. And in our case it even extended past the life of our most loved pal August who succumbed to cancer recently. Though Doc is obviously a busy man he never rushed his explanations of the intended care and the girls are gentle and friendly with our dogs and as we saw in the waiting room everyone else's too.
Top notch Vet and Crew. Can't be more proud to thank them and recommend!

Just established with AMVH after moving back to Ohio and I couldn't be happier. I did a lot of research on finding the right fit for my fur babies and I think I found it. I had some concerns about my 2.5 yr old cat and called, and after talking with Dr. Hicks, I decided to wait and see if the issue resolved itself. With no results this morning, I called again and they were able to get me in right away. Some tests and treatments later, I took home a happy kitty and I have peace of mind knowing he's ok. Thank you to Dr. Hicks and his team for everything!

Not sure who is AMVH that is staff name on my recite but she is awesome. Sue has been grooming our dogs for thirty years and no one else can do our pets.

What a great experience.

Our cat was lethargic and not eating or drinking like he should be, so we brought our cat to the vet to have him checked out. He had bloodwork done, stool sample, and urine sample. We were told that he had a UTI and that the doctor gave him antibiotics via injection and he should clear up in a couple of days. He seemed to perk up initially, but over the weekend he seemed to regress, and we called Monday morning first thing and got him back in to be checked out again. When we called in the afternoon to check up we were told he had pulmonary edema and that we needed to wait til the following day for more bloodwork to know the cause, but that a different type of antibiotic was given and to see how that goes. There was no severity expressed, and no guidance except to wait for results and go from there.

We waited anxiously for the vet to call the next day (Tuesday), but they never called. We finally called them to ask what was happening and they said they just hadn't gotten the results back yet and the doctor will call when they do. That night, breathing became really difficult and we had to take our cat to the Copley Emergency Vet - this place was very informative and helpful, but it was too late. The emergency vet had to do bloodwork and xray again, but no real clues were revealed. We were told we would have to assume cancer, an odd presentation of heart disease, or a small possibility of fungal or viral infection, but it would be very costly (thousands) to continue diagnostics with little hope for a positive outcome. We had to end his suffering and put him down. What I liked about this emergency clinic is they were extremely open with information, explained what they were seeing, what different options would be, and were honest and open with the situation.

It is now Thursday night, we had the second round of bloodwork performed Monday, and I have still NEVER received a call from this vet with any test results, no checkup to see how our cat is doing, and no explanation for why we didn't get test results back on Tuesday like we were supposed to. Could answers earlier have saved our cat? I don't know. I know medical diagnostics are not easy, I understand mistakes can be made, but the lack of communication and guidance from this place is extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't even be that angry if a medical mistake was made, the real problem I have here is nobody expressed much concern or explained what to look for over night, never explained how serious pulmonary edema is, and the very worst part - they never checked up and we still haven't received our test results. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

They got my cat in right away, treated him with so much love and also checked on him after the appointment. Also, everyone was so very kind.

Will for sure be coming here again!

Dr. Hicks is amazing. He is the only vet that has ever taken the time to ask me if I had any questions for him about my pets. I have had pets for 50+ years and Dr. Hicks and his staff are absolutely the best!

An animal hospital that claims to be open on Sunday and doesn’t have a doctor available along with a receptionist that doesn’t know what customer service is.

This place is the worst place this is we took our cat Patches there to be seen because of her eyes both of them had draining like a brownish color and we paid 100 bucks just for them to give her an antibiotic injection & then to top it off we waited a month to see if it would take it away because they said it would and i just called to tell them it hasn't went away at all if anything it got worst and thought they would just let us take her back in there without charging us 100 buck's again and they trying to charge us 100 buck's again hell no if what they did at first didn't work what makes you think I'm going to bring her back in to pay another 100 buck's and probably won't work either what a joke & i don't even think they did anything at all to our cat i think they just took the money and gave her back to us this place should be reported and refund you back that's so wrong they don't care about animals at all just out for the money i wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone really? Go somewhere eles where they care for you and your pet's not money hungry people they don't care if i could of gave this place a 0 star i would have but couldn't

Definitely worth the drive to me been with Dr Hicks for about 10 years and truly love these facilities.

This place is amazing. I have 2 large labs and they love this place. Couldn't ask for a better vet or pet resort. Would most defiantly recommend this place to my friends

He took my dog in as an emergency walk-in when her other vet wouldn’t. Instead of waiting at the other place for 1 1/2 hours I waited 10 minutes and he saw my dog and fixed her up. All the staff were great and I transferred all my pets to this office!

Best place to lodge you dog when you are away. They take care of your pets like they are there own. Couldn't find a better place. Great staff

My dog came in to see Dr. Hicks and Staff because he was not feeling good. They made him feel so much better in such a short amount of time. They are really good at what they do

Dr. Hicks and his staff are wonderful. I took my dog there with allergies and he knew exactly what to do for him. I highly recommend this place for any issues or needs you have for your pet.

Both my dogs and cats receive there medical care and lodging needs. The staff is amazing. Very nice facility. My dogs get so happy when we pull into the driveway. If you want great pet care please give them a call they will take care of all of your needs

Dr. Hicks always takes the time to listen to all of my concerns and gives me thorough explanations of the current medical condition or issues with my dogs. I spend lots of time here with my 5 dogs and everyone is always very nice and professional.

I take my dog Sassy here for all of her medical needs. Dr. Hicks is great with my dog. The technicians have so much compassion for the animals. The receptionist are very pleasant and easy to talk to. They are really good at reminding me about heart worm prevention when my dog is due. I love the staff and facility. I have not had the need to lodge my dogs. If the time comes that i need to I know I have no worries. Thanks so much for the great care of my pet

They are the Great, the staff and the Doctor are the best, we love to go there and we changed vets just because they are so nice, friendly and know their stuff.our dog is doing great under their care.will continue to use them and recommend them to any pet lover out there.

The staff here is absolutely amazing, especially the hard working kennel workers. I know every time I drop my dogs off here they are in great hands enjoying play times, and come home freshly bathed and smelling great. I cant say enough good things about this facilty and their staff bella and ollie cant wait to go back.
