The maintenance crew at Alexander Park is fantastic! They fixed our maintenance issues the right way, instead of a temporary fix, so we wouldn't continue to have problems down the road. They were fast, efficient and friendly. Hopefully management recognizes what a great maintenance team they have, as in my experience renting, this is rare. Thanks again!

***EDIT: My original review was 5 stars and fake. I’ll be very blunt and honest here, they bribe people for 5 star reviews. Which is extremely illegal. This place is an absolute nightmare. I’ve lived here for almost a year and I can’t wait for my lease to end. I’ve had issues from the start. Here’s a list of issues you can expect from a $1600+ rent payment:

Changed my move in date without telling me
Changed my lease terms to 15 months without telling me
Broken water heater
Broken toilet
Broken dishwasher
Broken clothes washer
Broken clothes dryer
Broken refrigerator
My walls are stained from water damage, from the pipes in the unit above me bursting and never got fixed.
It took over 2 MONTHS to patch 2 MASSIVE holes they cut in my wall and then still didn’t even paint back over it.

For the record, I’m not even exaggerating and I wish I was. The holes in the wall are how I know they bribe people for reviews. Here’s how that went. I went in to the office once a week for 2 months asking when someone was going to patch the literal holes in walls that THEY created. One of the times I went in, I was told if I left a 5 star review with something nice to say, they’d make sure maintenance would contact me that day to fix the hole and would give me a free pizza, So I left the review… still didn’t get fixed and got no call…

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Now they want to do renovations to my unit while I’m living here… these renovations include ripping the countertops in my kitchen, tearing up my carpet, changing ceiling lights, etc… oh but they were nice enough to let me know the noise will be 115 decibels for multiple hours…

This place is not a home. Do not move here. I’m trying to save you the pain and annoyance. I’ve also contacted Birge and Held (the company who owns them) to let them know this apartment complex is bribing people for reviews and I’ll be looking into legal action.

So ya, don’t move in here

Original Review: “Carley and chandler are awesome! Fixed all my issues and addressed all my concerns as prompt as possible! ”

Run Away from Birge & Held: A Nightmare Experience

I implore anyone considering this property to heed my warning and stay far away from this management company. My intent is to shed light on the horrendous ordeal I've endured during my time here, as well as the misleading claims that Birge & Held makes.

The demolition process alone was a nightmare. Day 1 commenced with the destruction of kitchen countertops and bar tops, accompanied by ear-splitting noise levels and an unsettling mess of debris scattered recklessly throughout my unit. The absence of proper precautions resulted in personal belongings being trampled upon and damaged, including a blatant footprint left on my kitchen scale placed atop water cases.

The situation grew worse as the workers proceeded to sand the new countertops indoors, inundating my living space with a thick layer of granite dust. Health issues arose due to the dust and neglectful conditions.

Day 2 was no better. Despite promises, there was no proper communication nor respect for agreed-upon work times, leading to an intrusion without warning. The removal of appliances left me stranded without basic amenities. Following their hasty completion, a representative from the leasing office conducted a final walkthrough. Their refusal to address concerns and dismissive attitude further amplified my frustration.

Beyond the renovation debacle, my grievances with Birge & Held extend far beyond the construction mess. The community's amenities, touted as exceptional, are far from the truth. The gym is unsanitary and lacking essentials, while the pool is frequently closed due to trash and inappropriate behavior. Car break-ins, police presence to make arrests, and an overall sense of insecurity have shattered any semblance of safety.

Birge & Held’s claims of fostering community and providing outstanding service have proven empty words. Trash piles up, dog waste is left unchecked, and maintenance calls go unanswered. The so-called "renovation" process is a joke, as it involves hazardous practices, damaged furniture, and utter negligence.

In short, my time at Alexander Park under Birge & Held's management has been a nightmare. My right to privacy and enjoyment of my living space were completely disregarded, and the state of disarray has left me deeply unsettled. I implore others to avoid this property and its management at all costs. Don't let the appealing words on their website deceive you—this is a place of negligence, chaos, and disappointment. To Birge & Held, Alexander Park is just an investment for profitability and growth purposes only, and we, the tenants, are just numbers to contribute to their profitability.

Alexander Park

Lived here over 3 years & things were ok not great with Champion owning the place but since Birge & Held took over last year it’s WAY worse. If you move here you should know that packages will be misdelivered to other buildings because no one can see the address on all sides only the front. Expensive Christmas presents have been taken by other tenants with no recourse. Someone also broke into (got the master mail keys) for the whole mailbox area and it was left open for weeks. Management couldn’t care less.

Same people who are supposed to staff Alexander Park office have to also work at Stafford House down the street. Website & hours listed for properties are a lie. Someone is only there less than half the time. So good luck trying to get ahold of anyone to pay your rent in person (online system has screwed up several times & not worked charging late fees) or to pick up a package. Lots of times it’s locked and empty or there’s a note that they are at the other property. Clearly having 1-2 people to run 2 residences part time is a great business plan to save money.

There are also potholes all over the parking lot that have never ever been fixed and they just get worse and worse. Be careful driving in the parking lot as you have to avoid them and some people speeding through.

The gym & bathroom in the amenity area are NEVER cleaned or supplied with anything. We’ve all been waiting for OVER A YEAR for management to bother putting cleaning wipes or paper towels or water back in the gym area. Many of us have asked for cleaning supplies and just get ignored. These people are so cheap they won’t even buy toilet paper or paper towels for the bathroom in the gym.

The units only look ok on the outside, they’re dark and dingy inside with paper thin walls. You will hear your neighbors say and do everything! From walking or running up the stairs outside to slamming their doors at all hours of the night. Drunk people make noise in the courtyard and parking lot area frequently at night and nothing is ever done. There’s been multiple car break ins over the years too. There is no such thing as security here you’re on your own.

Forget trying to use the amenity pool area because it’s either dirty or supplies are never replenished for the bathroom. Some residents will trash the pool deck area with their glass & garbage or even jump the fence & party when it’s supposed to be closed. Their solution last year was just to close the pool area after 5 or 6pm on weekdays whenever the staff would leave the office and lock up. A few problem residents got to ruin it for everyone. So you’re going to pay for a dirty gym and pool area that’s just closed, or dirty or trashed. Nice.

Birge and Held have SO many properties & so little staff for each they couldn’t care less about residents or improving anything at all. They’ve had more than enough time to fix basic things or hire staff since acquiring Alexander Park and Stafford House and have done nothing but raise our rent.

Enjoy having your rent jacked $200 every year for the privilege of staying in an old shabby apartment. You’d be better off finding somewhere safer to live not owned by this asset management firm.

I love Alexander park, carley is truly a joy to have as a property manager. She is very knowledgeable with all of the questions I've had & truly pushes Alexander park over the top! The community is kept very clean and the resident events are so much fun!

I’ve lived here for two years and it has consistently gone down hill. Parking lot is filled with potholes, have had my car broken into multiple times and the facility has done nothing to improve security. Management has changed and the results are worse than their predecessor. Construction has been going on next to the property and will continue to do so- your car will be covered in dirt and being able to sleep or focus during the day will be out of reach. Apartments are decent but not worth all the other negatives you’ll have to contend with.

My apartment is currently in the process of being renovated (while I'm living here) and it has been a nightmare-experience.

We were told that these updates would be coming, but many of the tasks being completed were NOT communicated prior to today. My entire apartment is a wreck and basically unlivable. I have no access to the bathroom-bedroom-kitchen-etc. Also, the area smells strongly of chemicals. I have had the last two days off and have basically been sitting outside all day, because I have no where to go

Other than this horrible situation, living here as been an okay experience. We did have some bug/ loud neighbor issues earlier on, but those appear to have been addressed.
