Allyn's Cafe reviews
41Ive been going here most of my life and the menu has always been solid, I recommend the jambalaya. Its excellent! Corn bread is jalapeno but it is well done and I think this "Allyn" guy really cares about his food.
Friendly but slow service. The food was ok but it took a second try to get the order correct. They had Gamma Bomb on tap so that was nice.
My husband and I went and tried the vegan food. I ordered the vegan jambalaya and vegan chili con queso. He ordered the Mardi gras pasta and the vegan chili dog. The queso was ok. His chili dog was the best part. The Jambalaya was dry and so was the pasta I kept the jambalaya to doctor on at home. We sent the pasta back the waitress did take it back and have the cook add more sauce the flavor just was there. Can't say I would go back unless to grab the chili dog.
CAJUN in Cincinnati Ohio! THE ONLY place! Friendly service at lunch or dinner. GREAT place! Vegetarian options also.checkout the draft list, nice selection.
Allyn's is a great, laid-back place with a terrific menu. Cajun, burgers, vegetarian, vegan.all good. Good wine list and also bottles in a refrigerator you can choose from.
Dude this place was amazing. It’s a bit expensive but I enjoyed it very much. I got the big al burger and it was chronic. The Cajun fries were bomb. I cleared my whole plate and now I might go take a nap.
Very good service and beautifully season food. Has a great blend of spices and an awesome Cajun taste. Taste like real New Orleans right here in Cincinnati.
Excellent food, drinks, service and ambiance. Mardi Gras pasta and gumbo are exceptional. One of our favorite places in the city.
Authentic Cajun food, wonderful server, big portions vegan and vegetarian options. Don't miss it when Cincinatti
GREAT FOOD! Their house wines are wonderful.music was a little loud for 4 of us to talk around the table, but food kept us happy! Nice, friendly service too.
Chicken gumbeax is way too salty. Black beans and rice is very good and jambalaya is very good also. Corn bread has an unexpected kick to it, yum.
Had dinner there the other night! Very nice place! Chicken Alfredo was good and the Mardi Gras dinner with the Alligator was tasty too. Omg my Margarita was the bomb. We had a really pretty and friendly waitress. We will visit again!
I want to try every food item on the menu so delicious and just spicy enough the waitresses are friendly and fun
I called ahead to order a baked potato and was quoted 10 minutes. I arrived exactly 10 minutes later to sit at the bar and wait 17 more minutes. The bartender gave a weak apology with no explanation and didn’t even offer me a drink while I waited after I had already tipped her. I had half an hour for lunch and was late getting back to work.
Stopped in for some Cajun fare to warm up on a chilly day.
Spotted this local favorite from the road while passing through town. We had decent service and mixed reviews on our dining choices.
I opted for the mixed trio & picked gumbo, red beans & rice, jambalya accompanied by jalapeno cornbread. Classics. The gumbo was overly salty, the jambalya was overwhelmed by big chunks of bell pepper, and the red beans & rice were decent. I wasn't wow'd by any of the three which is sad because I had high hopes.
My partner chose blackened sirloin with a double order of Cajun fries. He was well pleased with his choice. His steak had fantastic seasoning & was cooked to his liking. The fries were perfect for him.
If we're ever in that part of town again we may give them another shot.
An interesting little place with Cajun food and good beer. Worth going to if you've never been. Try the Mardi Dog and the gator bites.
The food is pretty good, but a bit overpriced for what you get. Service is good.the "special" was a burrito.a bit off base considering this is a Cajun food joint.
Food was great, and the beer selection was awesome. However, our waiter didn't write down our order and mixed up a few things. Of course this isn't the establishments fault and they comp us the mix ups.
Super super amazing veggie burger. The Cajun fries are the bomb. My only complaint was that the water/cup smelled and tasted funny. I asked for a new one but still came back with the same problem. Oh well! Still awesome!
I have only really been there for lunches so can't say what it is like in the evenings but I like the food and the staff are always friendly.
