Altercare Hilliard reviews
22Great team working hard to create a culture of care welcomes and cares for everyone who enters their doors!
The team at this skilled nursing facility provides fantastic care. I would definitely recommend them for anyone that may need a short term therapy stay!
So proud of our staff and leadership at Trueman Pointe! It’s exciting to see our patient outcomes with skilled therapy and short term rehabilitation over the past month.
This center has very caring staff. I’ve witnessed staff have great relationships with the residents. Activities is very creative and the rooms are spacious.
The staff are so friendly here! The compassion they show for the residents is amazing! What a great experience!
What a blessing to see new ownership at the building! They now join Foundations Health Solutions and have started implementing a Culture of Care!
Over medicated mother causing her to stay asleep in bed. While she was in bed, they (the nursing staff) didn't bother to feed or give her water to drink (Almost killed her!) I had to call the ambulance to rush her to the Hospital.
I feel like my mother received great care from the staff at Altercare. Very attentive to her needs and wants. Everyone was professional and caring and it started from the time we were greeted at the front door. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
TAMMY MYERS IS A WONDERFUL PERSON ALSO HER NURSING STAFF IS GREAT! I COME HERE TO WORK EVERYDAY WITH NO PROBLEMS! GREAT FACILITY!
I worked there as an agency nurse I wouldn’t take my dog there, they are one sided and they do not listen to their employees especially agency which make up 85% of the staff hmm I wonder why?
This place cost me valuable time with my dying brother. I had to constantly be after them to give his pain medication. I would go visit him and spend my time cleaning his room. I had bought him several mugs at 18.89 and 12.99 just to have them come up missing. I had to run Hospice ragged to come there because his bandages were not being changed. I am going to seriously consider speaking to an attorney. I have videos of his room and condition
As the acting director of nursing services for Altercare Hilliard I can assure you that we are a new team of compassionate managers that care about the success of our clients and our staff. We are working hard to bring stability and quality care to all that we service. I take pride in being a part of this team. We have some of the best residents and family members around. We are working as a team to bring positive quality care to our residents.
This place is terrible to work for. The administrator, Tammy Myers, IS THE WORST! DO NOT work here until she leaves. Very good employees have left because of her. And she doesn't care about the residents, nor her staff at all. She's there to work her 9-5 and have good numbers. She is so bad for morale. No staff member is even comfortable when she is there.
Another thing, DO NOT send family to live here. The staffing for aids are horrible. They rely on agency aids and nurses who do not know the residents daily routines. Again, because of the poor administrator, no one wants to work there. This is why they don't have their own aids. Agency aids just want to come, do their 9-5 and leave. The residents have very few people who know their routines, what they like, don't like, needs, etc. It all starts at the top. Bad administrator leads to no regular aids and nurses to the residents not getting the proper care that they deserve.
The physical training staff are great though! They do very well with the residents. Very kind to them, treat them with respect, and actually care for the residents. Most other staff, aids and nurses mainly, do not care much for the residents. Half of them are on their cell phones or sitting at the end of the halls in the lounge chairs hiding from call lights or superiors.
Overall, just avoid this place as best as possible. Do not work here and DO NOT send your loved ones here. I've seen way too much from my time working here. And again, it all starts at the top. She is the WORST!
I'm a former employee. I just want to say the most of the department heads and staff are great. Admissions, D. O. N, A. D. O. N, Therapy, Kitchen, activities, and was housekeeping until they left because of the administrator.
Now, I dont know all of the details, I'm just saying. The former supervisor of housekeeping was amazing and filled roles that wasn't even their job to do. They just happened to get ran out by their superior.
I will say for the most part, working there was decent. Most of the staff got along great. Made some friends along the way. Left on a very bad decision by Tammy, but that's over and done with now.
As far as sending family there, it has it days. Aids are very understaffed and they do have to rely on agency aids often. The actual aids of Hilliard altercare are pretty good. The agency though, not so much. There are some awesome residents there though that would gladly make new friends with any family member.
Thank you Altercare of Hilliard for my opportunity and growth, unfortunately it has come to an end due to a bad decision.
I wanted to share my experience as an employee at Altercare Hilliard. Firstly, I took this job because of many reasons. Primarily, I took this job because of the Administrator, Tammy Meyers. I had never met Tammy before and during my interview process, I learned of Tammy's leadership skills, her ability to connect with her staff, Residents, and family members, and because of her passion of Long Term Care. I even heard of Tammy's positive impact on her team from her former coworkers. Tammy leads a team of caring individuals who ensure our Residents are safe, happy, and healthy.
Lastly, I would personally send my family member to Altercare Hilliard. Not only have I witnessed our staff positively impact the lives of our Residents, but I've heard first hand from our Residents how happy they are here. As an employee and member of this community, I am proud to not only work for Altercare Hilliard, but I'm proud to serve these wonderful Residents. Thank you, Tammy, Altercare Hilliard, and Altercare Corporate for your leadership and support!
Owner responding the same thing over and over to every person with a complaint is ridiculous and looks even worse on this facility as though written by an automaton!
Do not take your loved ones to Altercare in Hilliard, very sad place. Understaffed, all for profit facility. My husband would not have survived another 2 weeks if i would have left him in there. He's been home now for 2 years.
I was in the hospital for a month and a half and then a month and a half at Altercare. I have been home for a week. I was treated with dignity and respect by all. From the aids to the nurses to the physical therapists I would not be where I am today without the Altercare team. I would recommend Altercare to everybody in need.
My father died after one week at Altercare of Hilliard. His last words to me, which will haunt me for the rest of my life, were, "They never come! I call and they never come! I need to try to sleep off this stress. ”
I gave him a couple of hours to sleep, then called his room. No answer. I called the nurses station. No answer. About an hour later, his nurse called. She said, ”I found him unresponsive. " According to her, staff members and EMS tried to resuscitate him, though his autopsy did not note any signs of CPR.
"What do you want us to do with the body? ” was the next question. I was not at home, so I told her I'd have to call back in a little while. A few minutes later, another call from an administrator, "What do you want us to do with the body? ” I was on my way back home and told her I'd have to call them back. The level of attention you receive once deceased is astonishing.
In the days leading up to his death, he had complained to the staff about their unresponsiveness. It would take over an hour for a transfer from his wheel chair to his bed. He ended up developing an abrasion from sitting too long. Aides would apologize and say that they were fighting against frequent staff shortages.
All of this falls at the feet of the administration. CEO Greg Colaner, I’m looking at you. Do better.
My father died of a heart attack while under tremendous stress caused by an unresponsive staff.
Please spare your family members from this facility. I wish I had.
Similar to a lot of the other stories on this review page- my Grandmother was in here for a week, after a hospital visit from a fall and was admitted straight from the nursing home back into the hospital, only this time into ICU! In worse condition than she'd went into the home in! Ridden with infection from lack of care. I'm truly convinced if we had not gotten her out of there- after a few more days she wouldn't have been with us. This place is a mess. The run around and the sweet talking that management tries to pass as concern for the patients, is just that- talk. There were a very select few who did truly seemed to care, and I feel terrible for them, but all in all- it seemed it was just about keeping beds full and getting the money. I know this type of thing can happen anywhere, but it won't be happening to our family again here, and I advise you to do the same and look elsewhere.
