The place is great! I’ve had some ups and downs with some staff here. But, the staff that I’ve had the downs with, left. But other than that, it’s an overall great place for my husband and I. We’ve been going there for almost 11 years. Our Dr.left and we see Nicole Johnson now and she’s amazing! We love her so much! She has a really great personality and really good bedside manners! If you were to be new, we would totally recommend her!

I have been taking my sister to them for the past 7 months or so. She has a complex set of challenges to handle, and they have been GREAT. After a long and difficult search we found Nicole Johnson. She was recommended by an outstanding psychiatrist who was retiring. Nicole is now our/my sister's psychiatrist, and she is FANTASTIC. Compassionate, knowledgeable, exceedingly patient and understanding. The support staff has also been great. Grateful for these folks.

I truly appreciate and recommend my mental health team through this agency. I work with Ryan Bender on my medication to help control my depression symptoms and Eric Steiner for CBT counseling. I can honestly say today I am making progress towards goals I have to get to the life I want for my self, thanks to their help, support and most of all the copping skills they have taught me. I found that both were extremely helpful and always willing to listen, and help in whatever way they could, even if it was to just be a supportive ear when upset.

One star is too many. Dr. Mahajan should not be allowed near suicidal patients. She was incredibly judgmental and even stated she was confused about the lifestyle (poly) my partner has. My partner is desperate for help and it was so hard to get to the day of the appointment just for the doctor to make her cry and feel worse. Please avoid this place! Thank you Dr Mahajan for the damage you caused. You should be ashamed. You don’t have to agree with a patients life choices but you don’t get to make them feel bad about it.

Terrible experience here, would never recommend to anyone. The in-take counselor was nice and overall okay experience with her but that did not make up for the psychiatrist. She made me feel like all of the problems I’ve been experiencing that led me to seek help were meaningless and “oh everyone feels that way. ” She practically scoffed and rolled her eyes at me on a few occasions.

At one point she asked if I’d ever done marijuana to which I said yes but not for a long time. Her immediate response was along the lines of “good, don’t do it again, it’s bad” before I had a chance to say I had used it medically for chronic pain.

At the end of the appointment, I felt worse than before and I’m still surprised that I wasn’t breaking down in tears. Do not EVER go here, and don’t let anyone you know go here either.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Anytime you try to call them they are unavailable, you end up immediately being put on hold for 5+ minutes, and then an answering service answers for you to leave a message. But even when you leave a message, evidently it doesn't get sent to them because they disregard the message entirely. And that's assuming they call you at all, since last appointment they never called because they "forgot to put me in her time slot". What an absolute joke. Find somewhere else.

Our daughter had an intake appt there following a brief hospital stay. They, after traumatizing her further by making her talk about everything over and over in detail without getting to know her first or finding out how she was doing in new medication, pink slipped her and sent her to be admitted once again to the hospital (telling us she agreed to go when her choices were go with police or be handcuffed and taken). All of the staff at hospital thought it was crazy and she didn’t need to be there including the psychiatrist on hospital staff.
Very unprofessional and very uncaring. We’d never recommend and are only giving one star because we can’t give zero.

What a heartbreaking experience. I was referred to this agency at the lowest point in my life, I was suicidal, looking for help, and needing assistance.i spoke to a lady named Sharon in "crisis" who promised me someone would call me the next night and she would check back with me on Monday No one ever called. Not that day, not the next week, until I get a call from a private number 3-4 weeks later. I asked why no one ever called. Sharon said they had a lot of people out. Hmm, wow. These people are indifferent, do not care about people, and should not be in this type of sensitive service oriented industry. Very disappointing that they cannot do their job, and one day this will cost someone their life. They should really find compassionate caring staff that at bare minimum will do what they say they will do. Bottom line. Not a trustworthy agency.

Someone at the hospital who worked there said they could help since I was and am in crisis mental state. Went through intake— Wait list of 8 months. Don't offer your services to people getting their hopes up for a nearly 1 year wait. -0 stars.

DR's and staff don't know how to do there jobs. I have to call multiple times every month with issues that are never fixed.

I had 3 really good, solid years with Dr. Mahajan at Alternative Paths. While my current needs have changed and I am currently opting to seek care elsewhere, I have much respect for her and the work that we did together. I’ve never been as healthier as I am now in my entire life. I have an overall more positive outlook on life and understand that with success comes greater personal responsibility “control of my own actions”. My concern was that she could be impatient when I tried to ask certain questions or raise concerns, yet ultimately this was my care and I believe I should be kept in the the know about other available options. Other than that, I am grateful and wish her and the staff well.

I have been struggling with anxiety and depression my entire life. It’s been embarrassing and hard to deal with or talk about. The staff at Alternative path is so helpful and friendly though. Since I started working with Ryan Bednar there, I have come a long way with my anxiety. Ryan has helped me start to take back control of my life. Before that, I was a mess. The difference that Alternative Paths has made in my life is night and day! I highly recommend Alternative Paths if you are looking for a provider that cares about you, your health and over all quality of life. They will help you work on overcoming depression and anxiety the right way! Ryan had taught me with the help of counseling from Amy, how to control my panic attacks and anxiety without having to take a Xanax. Thank you for helping me feel free and helping me improve my quality of living.

Ever since Dr. Alcorn left (retired), my over all care here has been a nightmare. My new Dr seems nice but did not listen to me. The higher up people were less than helpful. The crisis line is a joke. They will refer you to ER and admission to ward. When all i needed was a non biased party to listen to my crumbling life story. Couldn't get a decent counselor after Lauren left. I was told that I have to be on a waiting list to even see a counselor here. 8 month wait was it?

No worries guys I'm getting the help I need elsewhere. I would not recommend this establishment to my worst enemy.

This is not where you want to be to get treated for your mental health.

AP provides very good service and also good relationship with Medina County Sheriff Department

An acquaintance has used AP services with good support. Also, we have seen Sheriff officer intervention during mental health related incidents that shows many officers seem to be effectively trained on de-escalation and thoughtful handling of individuals during a crisis situation.

We are lucky to have AP in Medina County and lucky that they have a good working relationship with county law enforcement - I note that Sheriff Terry Grice is on the board of AP

They said me and my husband's phones were out of service. News to us! They've never been out of service and you can leave messages on both phones. Lazy idiots here, don't go, it's a trap!
