America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Boardman OH

These guys are OK but they tell you that you will get your glasses in 10 days at least. I still haven’t received it and it’s been 15.

A long 3 hours at this A. B. BUT, the store was quite busy. This is the busiest A. B.in the USA. The eye test was quick and painless, I think that Dr. Mellott was VERY thorough and found an issue that must be tended to immediately with my eye Dr.at the Cleveland Clinic! Then, "Maria" helped me sort through the 20+ pairs of glasses that I chose for possibilities. Since I went by myself I really needed a good honest opinion and she definitely took her time to assist! I think that the 2 of us came up with 2 GrEAt pairs of glasses:) I've been using America's Best for many years and I really have to say that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this store when you are in need of new glasses or contacts! Thank you ALL for your professionalism as well as your individual attention to my eye care needs!

Amazing.from Start to Finish! The Dr was thorough and explained all! Luanne who fit my glasses was so helpful and kind. She took her time to make sure I got the glasses the way I wanted them! Thank You All So Much!

2 different occasions I went here and I insisted I could not see through my glasses like I should. Both times they said it was because I was getting older.got only 1 pair actually fixed so I could see the first time. The last time they ended up fixing 1 pair but not the other, because I waited to long. I explained to them I had Covid and didn’t go anywhere for 2 weeks.never did get the others fixed. I’m now at different eye dr

Listen, for anyone thinking of working here. I do highly recommend it. I worked here in part of 2012- 2022. I had Eric and Lorraine as managers. I honestly have not found a better job since leaving here. I wish Eric (and Lorraine too) could be a manager wherever I go. I miss my friends here, and picking out neat glasses. I loved doing my daily work and having a nice strict schedule. Sometimes we had a TON of patients come through, and some days were more relaxed.
I felt at home working here and the group supported me a lot. I haven't been in in a while, so I'm not sure who's still all there. But man was I lucky.
Training was great and they had a lot of training videos and little online seminars to watch so you were better when out on the opticians floor alone.
The handbook was especially helpful. Doing the apprenticeship for optician is well worth it because there are a lot of ways to move up, and there is a lot of need in the county for opticians. The pay is fine for just starting out in the field with no prior experience and having them teach you everything you need to know. This really is a first step into the opticians world- but YOU also have to want it and stick to it.
I miss this place and was just thinking about everything today.

Nice, friendly environment! The office personnel were great! Their glasses were kind of expensive but I believe they will be well worth the cost! Everyone was very nice and my appointment went by quick. I cannot wait for my glasses to come back!

I’ve been going here for years and every single employee I’ve ever dealt with has always been very helpful and genuinely warm and friendly, which is a pretty rare thing these days. Always a really pleasant and positive experience. Thanks for the consistent good vibes!

Maria is fabulous! I came in for a quick glasses adjustment! Not only was she friendly but she remembered me from a few days ago when I saw her out and about and I complimented on her bag; now that is what I call paying attention to detail! Thank you for being “the rainbow” on this cloudy day!

I was the first appt. In Boardman Ohio and was very disappointed how dirty it was. You could tell it hadn’t been vacuumed and there was paper towels on the restroom floor.

Not happy.
About 10 months ago I had an exam and got 2 new pairs of glasses
Everything was fine but I felt like i was a burden to try on glasses.
I felt like no one wanted to help.
I brushed it off and went along my way.

Fast forward till a couple days ago I went in to try to tighten my one pair of glasses because they were big
The lady I dealt with seemed very unpleased to help me.
Looked at me like I had 10 heads when I was trying to explain the problem I had with my glasses.

I ended up leaving because I felt like I was ruining her day.

I will try another Americas best in another city.

* I also drove 50 minutes to get to this one.
Big mistake.

Also let me add the last at the front desk was super friendly and helpful!
Other people in the store I can’t say the same for though.

From the beginning I've always chosen America's best. Now I'll make it a point to come to the one in Boardman, Ohio. Sherry Greathouse was perfect! Made me laugh while making sure my glasses were perfect. Thanks!

After 2 emails 4 text messages and a phone call reminding me to be on time. I did not get out of there till 2 07 from a 12 20 pm appt.and I had no time to pick out glasses since I was already late for work!

Professional and friendly service. Loved the "Happy Wednesday" and welcoming atmosphere. The whole process was quick and easy.

I managed to break my glasses while traveling, and at a family members suggestion I went to America’s Best for help. Maria was able to perfectly repair my glasses and wouldn’t take any payment even though I had never been in the store before. Thank you so much!

Not happy with the fitter. I have an excellent insurance plan, but the woman told me it was only a discount plan. I know otherwise, and verified it when I returned home. According the the insurance website, my choice of glasses should have come in at $0, but I was quoted a price of over $250. Sounds like a company just trying to make money. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and also to the Vision Professionals Board of Ohio.
