Armando's Barbershop, Cleveland OH

My ten year search for a barber/hair artist/stylist in downtown Cleveland has finally ended.
Moving from a number of big cities with lot's of competition spoiled me but also educated me to the best stylists and skill set needed from a top shelf barber. A good barber cuts hair. A great barber educates and inspires. Knowing the basics: undercut, crewcut, disconnected undercut, low fade, high fade, mid fade, side part, pompadour, slicked back etc.is something Armando excels at with a rapid confident approach and flow that will immediately put you at ease. Armando knows what he is doing. But most importantly, he loves what he is doing.
But heres the thing. Armando's creativity and uniqueness lies in knowing when to allow the current hair on the client remain in place and use that as a pallet, direction and inspiration for his additional creative work which is something that cant be taught, it's something you're born with. Like a great singer. Rare here in CLE as most barbers are confined to a limited script or lack training resulting in uneven lines or worse, a chop-shop-job that cut's off all of the "personality" in a clients hair.
The picture I posted was 5 weeks out from a bad haircut: a short fauxhawk with a side part and high fade. Im not kidding. It was painful but rewarding to watch as it started to grow out after Armando made the right decision to take it shorter and start all over again so that it would grow out evenly. It did.
Thank you Armando for being part of the positive downtown Cleveland experience. I can relax now.

Got my hair cut & beard trim here the day before my wedding (I'm not from Cleveland & don't know the area, so happened upon this spot). I had a GREAT experience! I usually cut my own hair and think of it as pretty straight forward, but my barber took such care in every detail, every border, and in keeping me extremely comfortable. Best haircut ever, I will be coming back when in town.

One of the finest establishments in Cleveland. Armando's is an exceptional high class barbershop. The environment is very modern. I was greeted upon arriving, offered an assortment of coffees and teas, and cookies. The cut was also very well done, beard was trimmed up properly, and Armando was very good at making me feel welcome. I would highly recommend this place!

Very classy barbershop! I’ve had my haircut twice a month for over twenty years (military) from many different barbers all over the U. S.and Edwin is one of if not the best. You will not be disappointed.

Super great staff and they provided top-notch customer service on a last minute reservation as a birthday surprise! I also enjoyed their hospitality. While we were waiting, they had a small seating area with an assortment of cute, delicious cookies and espresso/coffee options. I would definitely recommend this establishment and I will gladly come back in the future!

I’ve been to Armando’s several times now and can happily say I can now stop bouncing from barber to barber. Armando’s atmosphere is sophisticated and calming and Armando and his staff are friendly and welcoming. I’ve been impressed that after only a few visits Armando remembers what my usual cut is. The quality of the cut is good and makes it easy to style in the weeks between appointments.

I really enjoyed this barbershop/salon. The extremely accommodating and professional staff made me feel welcome and comfortable throughout my visit and administered an attention to detail that showed their pride in their craft. Just an overall great experience I highly recommend this business.

I have been going to Armando’s for half a year now. The shop has a relaxing atmosphere but still remains professional. I have been to many places that screw up my hair and I can’t wait for my hair to grow back out, but I have never had that experience at Armando’s. I am always happy with my haircut when I leave the barbershop and the price is well worth the service you receive.

This place is an absolute sham as it is overpriced, overrated, and quite frankly, a supreme scam operation perpetuated by fraudsters! Who is their right frame of mind would pay $35 for a hair cut? For that price you can fill up your tank, eat at a nice restaurant, or buy groceries.such a waste of money. Armando and his staff are a joke!

I love going to Armando's. After moving from New York City and bidding farewell to my barber of 16 years, I was so happy to find a barbershop with a European feel and quality. A fantastic experience from booking to walking out the door.
The online appointment process was extremely easy and the availability times were amazing. You get welcomed with warmth, a delicious Nespresso (that's why I usually go 15 min early) and great conversations. Just like you would in a piazza in Italy or France.
Armando is knowledgeable and experienced. After every haircut I feel refreshed, energized and ready for my client meetings. Although I am accustomed to haircuts by Armando, I feel comfortable with Nina and Christina. The best part, you can stop by Armando's even if you don't need a haircut but would love to chat for a little.

Attention to detail is unparalleled here - from the shop design reflecting the owner's growing up in Italy, to the service. Hot shave after a cut with a straight razor, shaping and trimming your beard - it's the little things that make this shop worth coming downtown for.

I play in a event band and they stayed open late to cut my hair. I feel much better about hitting stage tonight. Thank you Nina and Armando!

When I got my haircut by Armando for the first time a few months ago, people noticed the difference. I received many compliments from people in my office and, more importantly, when I got home, my wife's jaw literally dropped.his work is that good. He demonstrates great mastery of his craft and a quiet confidence and warm personality to go along with his talent. His new space, located across from Il Venetian is cool and swanky. Highly recommended!
