I love working with Smith-Reiss Agency for insurance. We recently bought a camper that needed an insurance policy on. Stephanie got back to me within 24 hours with a great quote. She also took it upon herself to perform a policy review (since it had been over 6 years since we had one done!) and she was able to find us a better policy for a better value. I appreciate that she went above an beyond to look into this and save us money. We've had nothing but great experiences when working with Smith-Reiss associates and I look forward to continuing business with them.

Edit. I don’t use my real name in google. My insurance went from $110 a month to $668. Nobody could tell me why. You should stop defending yourself on bad reviews and fix things. All my information was sent to my uncle instead of me and they even charged me his bill. It took weeks to get my money back. I had to get it from him. Incompetence.

Eric and his team handle all of my personal and business needs. After dealing with many other insurance agencies in the past, I must say that Smith-Reiss has always put forth the extra effort to make sure all of my needs are taking care of while being clear and concise. They offer excellent service and have saved me a lot of money over the years.

First off my wife and I have had Smith-reisse insurance for 35 yrs, for the past 2 0r so yrs we have been very dissatisfied with Eric and his staff, for one thing Eric does not follow through with calling back when he says he will, some of his staff is not people persons in my opinion, so hear is what I found out recently about him and his company, as I said we have been with them for around 35 yrs, both home and auto, recently our car insurance went up around $100 a month, well we had a couple miner scrapes on my car and speeding ticket, first in 35 yrs, but wow that’s a big jump on cost, so we contacted a few other agencies for quotes, to our amazement they were $100 lower on what they wanted to make us pay, and get this when we bundled the house with it our escro went down to almost half the cost they were charging us, wow, what a savings, so it’s not hard to see we were over paying for insurance, no wonder he would not call us back, I was told by the other company’s that’s a tactic some use to keep u with them, hoping u won’t take the time to check with other company’s, and please don’t just check his site for reviews check YELP for more reviews like mine, I’m sorry I ever dealt with Eric and his agency, probably could have saved a lot of money over the last 35 yrs.and one last comment after being with them for all the years you would think that they would call me and ask why we left but again Eric doesn’t do that either.

Ive had smith reiss as my agency for around 10 years. During that 10 year period my home owners insurance has gone up almost $100 a month from when i started my policy with them. I decided i wanted to give them a call to see why and maybe to see if we can get it any lower. When i called i spoke with Terry (i believe, bad with remembering names) she said she would have someone look into my policy and call back in a week or two and then said bye and hung up. I found this a little odd as its never taken more than a day to get a new insurance quote for home or auto. So i proceeded to do what any other upset customer would do, call other companies. I only called 2 other companies and one was $100 (progressive) cheaper per month and the other was $60 cheaper per month (allstate). I also learned during this time that smith reiss way over valued my house and my belongings, as well as my deductible was lower than needed. So if i was able to correctly revalue my house and belongings as well as raise my deductible from 500 to 1000 that should lower my policy with smith reiss. So i again being with smith reiss for 10 years wanted to give them the courtesy of calling back again 2 days later to let them know that i thought my insured house and belongings values were way too high and also wanted to raise my deductible and hope that would be closer to what the other companies policies were priced at. When i called to i spoke with Stephanie (and i believe this was her name, bad with names). I explained i felt it was strange i had to wait 1-2 weeks for a new quote and that the other 2 companies quoted me a rate in 10 minutes over the phone. She tried to explain they check with 8 different companies to find lowest rate and that why it can take up to 2 weeks, but progressive also checks through multiple companies for best rates and they can do it in 10 minutes? Anyway I explained that i thought my home value and belongings values were way to high since ive talked to the 2 other companies (smith reiss had my house value and belongings EACH $100,000 higher than needed) and that i also wanted to raise deductible to 1000 vs 500. They lady on the phone said that wont help, only way to lower rates were to bundle in my car ins? ! So all they wanted from me was more money, they didnt care about actually solving the issue i called in about. When i told her i wasn’t interested in bundling she basically said there wasnt much else that could be done. So i told her i was able to find rates almost $100 cheaper per month and that i would be forced to leave them if they couldnt help me. She then said sorry, do what you have to do, said bye then hung up. Basically in one breath. I was shocked that this is how they treat their “loyal” customers after 10 years. I work in customer seevice and if I treated my companies clients with this attitude, id be out of a job real quick.as others have stated, their customer service and attitude is terrible and definitely not people persons there. Sad to say because when Eric signed me up 10 years ago, he was a delight. Only writing this review to help him realize how his customers are being treated. Today will be my last day with smith reiss.
