Horrible experience. Ordered a car with a car seat and they didn't have one. Car smelled like smoke. Do not go here.

I shouldve LISTENED to the reviews. It was a bad experience period. Set up everything online but once at this location the guy at the desk told me EVERYTHING different. I needed extra deposit/credit check/ utility bills. The website didnt say anything of this. Stay away from this place like the reviews said.

This is the worst avis around. I don't know how the other locations are, but this one will take your money, tell you your reservation is booked but when you get there they have no cars. I have been through this 3 times now. I'm done and I'm done with avis. The last time I tried calling before and no answer. Called twice! Checked online and my reservation said it was booked and ready to go. If there are no cars an hour before its your time to pick up rental they should call or email. Will take my business elsewhere for now on

As a public service to everyone NEVER RENT FROM HERE!
Worst customer service I have EVER experienced in my life.
Besides his horrible attitude I reserved a Toyota Camry and he gave me a 4Runner SUV gas guzzler. It caused me to pay almost double in gas. He made me bring it back on a full tank when he didn't even give it to me full!
DO NOT RENT CARS FROM THE WICKLIFFE OHIO LOCATION!

After prepayment was made for my vehicle I arrived to the location to NOT ONLY FIND OUT THAT because I used my Apple Payment through my mobile device which was an acceptable form of payment online and did not have a physical card I was unable to rent my vehicle. The gentleman assisting who was anything but professional provided me the AVIS Customer Service number to assist me with the issue at hand had a wait time of over 30minutes to find out they had already cancelled my reservation and given my prepayed vehicle to another customer while I was present! Not only did I have to pay additional to get back and forth to the facility but have to wait up to 10 days for a refund which has now caused me to have to cancel my travel arrangements for the celebration of my little sisters’ first baby shower. After this experience of trying to use a different company other than Enterprise I realized paying the extra amount goes along way for customer service and even understanding. I will NOT be returning nor will I recommend this location or AVIS to anyone. There was also another lady present during the time of my situation who was unable to rent when she had funds available but the yet again rude gentleman said he couldnt do anything for her due to what type of card. Also CHIME CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED even though they accept debit cards here.

Terribly dissatisfied. We rented a car months in advance and prepaid. We choose an 8am pick up. When we arrived at the location, the doors didn’t get unlocked until 8: 05. The man running the store still had to turn on the computer and “load up” to find out information. 15 mins later we were told that the car we rented and prepaid for was not there but he could get it there in about an hour. We had to cancel our rental and go to enterprise. The enterprise experience showed us that paying a little more is definitely worth the time and frustration we saved.

We had a TERRIBLE experience here. My 68 year old mother reserved AND PAID FOR a car online, and when she arrived in person to pickup her rental car for the weekend the 2 "gentlemen" working were anything BUT. She had taken the bus from work to get there on her lunch break and had all necessary items to retrieve her car. The sales reps refused to release the car to her, despite the fact that she had already paid in advance. She ended up leaving (AND TAKING THE BUS BACK TO WORK) and cancelling her reservation due to the lack of professionalism and human DECENCY she experienced here. Utterly shameful. I recommend this place to absolutely no one. We've always used Enterprise in the past, and will certainly continue to do so after our poor excuse for customer service here.

Car was dirty and smelled bad at pick up. Car was also damaged, documented when I picked it up and tried to blame me for damage.

The vehicle that I reserved was gone but I was offered an upgrade for the same price. The upgraded vehicle was terrible. The tire pressure light cam on as I was driving and when I turned a corner the steering wheel was wobbly. I called the location back only to be told to try and put some air in the tire because they were all out of vehicles. I explained that I was traveling out of town in the morning and I dud not feel safe driving that vehicle even if I were to put air in the tire. My daughter called to the store and she was very angry and that's when she was told to tell me to call roadside assistance and they will either send someone out or allow me to go to a different location to exchange the vehicle for another one. The lady I spoke with at roadside assistance was extremely helpful but I told her that there was a nail in the tire and I was still required to DRIVE 15-20 minutes away to another location to pick up a vehicle. I think it's totally unacceptable that given the nature of the problem that Avis would ask someone to risk their life like that.

Worst customer service I have EVER experienced in my life. Iv been working in customer service for 20 years and I would never treat my customers the way we were treated. The man at the front desk was very rude and gave us the run around and made it difficult to get our rental. He was not clear what information we needed to rent the car and kept denying us the car. His store is also disgustingly dirty and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months and I find that not acceptable during a pandemic. He was so disrespectful and rude We left and found a rental at Enterprise. Paying more was better than being treated poorly. I will make sure I tell everyone who is looking for car rentals to go to enterprise. We were in and out within 10-15 minutes and treated with respect. I would like hopefully to speak to someone about this experience. It needs to be reported.

On February 28,2021, I reserved a 12 passenger van for my daughters bachelorette party scheduled for June 5,2021. I chose Avis because I considered them one of the most reliable rental car companies. Prior to the reserve date I received 5 reminders of the reservation from Avis and I checked in on-line two days before the reserve date. On June 5th my husband drove 34 miles to pick up the van. Upon his arrival he was told there was no van there for him. The counter person was not at all empathetic that there was no van for us. The only solution offered was for us to call the Avis 800 number or to drive forty minutes to the airport to see if they had one, not even offering to call them for us. Upon calling the 800 number the only solution they offered was to cover any difference if we found a van elsewhere. We had to scramble to find cars and drivers to salvage my daughters wine hopping bachelorette party. I will never rent from Avis again. The only reason I gave them a one is it wouldn’t let me select zero.

Update: After contacting Avis through the email provided, they offered no consideration for our wasted time, gas, and the ruining of our event. Not even a discount on a future rental. Don’t use Avis, especially this location!

I was treated with such disrespect by the first reservation representative I hung up called back to make reservation in the middle the call dropped called back to be lied to and told there were no cars available at any location in my city on the fourth call back made reservation i pre paid for 5 o'clock pickup only to arrive and find the pick up location closed at 5 had to wait until the next morning then when I returned the car was cheated out of my refund for the day I lost have been on hold for one and a half hours for customer service still working on resolution

Car was fine. Had to wait 10 minutes for them to clean it but atleast it was clean.

Older white guy at the counter could be more friendly. Seems anyone that came in was a bother. When you're the direct contact with the customer, you may want to speak up and smile sometimes. Just saying.

I will pass on this location in the future.
