15The worst customer service experience ever. Employee was very rude. The vehicle we rented was absolutely filthy, and was in desperate need of an oil change. They rarely answer their phone and just let the calls get transferred to the central number.
Avis solon location is the best location in town.

The rate was very reasonable, less expensive than Enterprise. My agent was polite, knowledgeable about the best car choice for my needs, and efficient- considering that he was the only employee there at the time, and 3 customers (including myself) had arrived at the same time. The power went out briefly during the checkout process, which caused a delay. Without my asking, the agent adjusted my checkout time to compensate for the delay. He was also polite and efficient with my return.
Avis rent a car in Solon OH was a pleasure to work with. They gave me a low mileage brand new car for my trip. The gent that helped me was friendly and efficient!

I’m not sure who the lady is that works behind the desk, but she was working her butt off and as friendly as could be. She definitely deserves a raise will use a service again.

This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. My daughter rented a car on 5/13 with a return date of 5/17/23. When she picked up the car there was an odor in the car. It wasn't anything major or something that would prevent us keeping the car. Just an unpleasant smell. She hung a car air freshener in the car and the car was utilized for our trip. We retuned the car on 5/16/23. The agent, Ahmed, was very rude and aggressive. He kept asking my daughter if she was over or under the age of 16 and if she had driven the car. If he had checked the rental agreement, he would've seen that she was 25 and had rented the car on her own. When he returned from getting the mileage out the car he let us know that he would be charging the fee for smoking in the car. We advised him that no one had smoked in the car and that the fee was unwarranted. He said there had to have been smoking in the car and that we had tried to cover it up with perfume (air freshener). I explained again that no one smoked in the car and that neither of smokes. I have asthma and both of us work for a hospital that checks there employees for nicotine via blood tests. He went on to say that he could either charge $125 or have $450 charged the next day when the "big boss" comes in. We stated again we weren't accepting either as there had not been any smoking in the car. We explained why the air freshener was used. He said he was going to charge $125 which is the lowest level cleaning fee and that we didn't have to agree to it because he had the card information and could charge whatever he wanted. He said I could call corporate or speak with the manager the next day. I asked when would they be in? He replied he wasn't sure- they don't have set hours. I returned to Avis/Budget the next day at opening (8am). I explained to Ken what had occurred, and I asked if the car had been cleaned yet? He said it hadn't. I asked if he could take a look at with me since I was being charged an excessive cleaning fee. He looked inside the car and was dumbfounded. He asked what did Ahmed say the charge was for? I said he claims he smelled smoke. He said, " well if Ahmed says he smells smoke, he's going to charge for it. " I asked him if he smelled smoke and he replied "I have allergies and 3 dogs, I wouldn't be able to smell smoke if you blew it in my face" I asked about the manager, and he said "Ahmed is the manager/owner and I'm not sure why he told you otherwise. So basically, you have an owner/operator who lies about who he is and also charges customers additional, unwarranted fees because he can. I'm sure we're not first customers he's done this to and probably won't be the last. You couldn't pay me to rent from this location or Avis/Budget EVER again. I will also report this to the corporate office, the BBB, and the FTC.

My car broke down I showed up a half hour before closing everybody was extremely helpful and friendly they got me in a car and on my way in no time.
We reserved a car and when we went to pick up we’re told there were no cars, only 12 passenger vans. A mini van came in and I asked if we could have that. We were told there was someone in front of us, ok, even though my husband is a preferred Avis customer. There were also 2 pick ups. I asked about them and was told we could take one and to “go see if it was clean. ” I said we’d wait for them to clean. While we waited several cars came in. A couple more mini vans, a jeep and a sedan. I asked if we could take one of them and was told people were waiting. We went in the morning and there was no one else there! We also had reserved a car! I’m sure it was because the paperwork was started for the truck and he didn’t care to re-do it. So I was stuck driving the truck that I couldn’t fit my family in because of the clerks laziness. I’m only giving 2 stars because we did leave in a drivable vehicle.
The guy behind the desk very rude, unprofessional and careless. Reserved the car a week before and they telling me they don't have the car. They don't care at all.
Worst experience I have ever had! Our car was not there and we had to go to the airport to one up The clerk was rude beyond imagine. Will not ever use them again!
