Barefoot Canoe reviews
8Good kayaking! Water is pretty still, not many rapids. Can be busy when ur floating, a popular spot to go! Close to home. A 2-4 hr trip. 15$ if u just need a haul back. Staff is great, owner is nice!
Friendly service and don't forget to get a popsicle when you return after a hot trip back on the bus.
Awesome company. They make sure you get in the water safe and make sure you get out safe. They went above and beyond to help us when we had a "slight" incident due to mother nature and probably a little human error. We appreciate this company and Tipp City.
I can honestly say I had a great experience here! Everyone was extremely nice and professional, along with everything being so easy, and the equipment was in great condition. The river was very peaceful and clean.
I definitely recommend going, and I know I will be back with a lot more people!
Good experience overall, unfortunately their new pick up van had a flat tire and the old one we had to ride in was pretty janky.
If your looking for a canoe trip this is the spot! Affordable and very friendly. My family and friends have been visiting Barefoot for years. They have the longest trip in our area. We had a group of people, a few rented and a few of us brought our own. This particular trip was the busiest day of the year. The staff greeted us with a smile and got us into the water quickly. We had a small rain delay while on the water and ended up ending our trip shortly after closing hours. We called for a pick up and the owner came right out. It had to be an inconvenience for him to rush out and pick us up so late. He even made room for the none rented kayaks, which was a tight squeeze. He was more than happy to help us out and made us not feel like a burden.
Barefoot Canoe is very affordable at about $30 per canoe. That also includes life jackets and paddles. You get the canoe until 7 pm I believe. We paddled and floated down river for hours with several family members and had an absolute blast! There's a couple of small islands that we stopped at on our way down river and met some awesome people there. The scenery and water were great and several of us jumped in for a long swim. At the end of the day you park your canoe at this meeting point where every half hour a van comes to collect canoes and give people lifts back to the park. When we got out of the van we were met with some nice cold freezer pops. We will definitely be coming back to Barefoot Canoe again!
The staff took complete control of launching and taking out the canoe. They were very friendly and helpful. The river was very shallow in spots, we hadn't had rain for almost 2 weeks. We did manage to make it all the way down river without having to drag the canoe. There were a couple of spots where the river widened out and was deeper and the water was quite still with very little current.
This is a family friendly fun, but you are dealing with water, and there are some rocks that could tip your canoe, if you were to get up against them. Make sure to prepare for a tipped canoe, keep kids in life jackets, and remember hats and sunscreen. Also water protect all electronics.
