Bayside Catering and Banquet Hall, Oregon OH

Food is great.nice hall. Don't come on a hot day because they are very stingy with the air conditioning! Too hot to dance!

The hall itself is very nice place, not overly large or small. We hosted our reception here, less than 120 people. When we went to see the hall we reserved on the spot knowing how setup would be and no access to the kitchen, brining our own food/ drinks and paid for the bartender and the administrator advised we could decorate the day before, a Friday. A week before the reception she advised she could only hold the beer in the fridge and not the soda pop, she advised that we could no longer decorate on Friday because there was another event being held that day, which I understand we asked to decorate after the event, or early the day of our event, all a no. She said the owners of the location would not allow her to work additional hours, would not allow her to have anyone set up on Friday because the event was for someone the owners knew and could not make exceptions. She made comments that the police constantly drove around (we are of different ethnicity). The administrator made comments about immigration, she even told our caterer racial insensitive comments about our reception. Unfortunately for her the administrator did not know our caterer was a family friend and told us about her comments.

The day of the even we could not access the hall until 10: 30am as that was when the owner allowed the admin to access the building is what we where told. She would not allow us to use the water in the facility to place inside our heating pans so we had to go get our own water. Overall a major headache.

We fortunately got through the night. For anyone looking to rent this for a reception, ensure your get everyone in writing, don’t be like me and take her word for it. Have them write it down on the contract that’s signed, ensure you have access to what you need. Admin kept saying no access to her kitchen for water, no access to her rooms no access to xyz… because the owners said so. But at no point did she allow us to talk to the owners.

Over all not the best experience.

Went there for lunch after a funeral today and the food was excellent and everyone there was very friendly and it was also very nice inside!

Great place to be! Great staff, especially Kim. Everyone is very nice and they go out of their way for you! I recommend that everyone in need of a hall to give them a call.

Great food with reasonable prices.
The cook there is a master chef.
