Bell Farms, Chillicothe OH

Top rated and one of the best kept secrets of Chillicothe. Famous for their bananas foster but everything is excellent. The ambiance is so warm and cozy. Feels like going to Grandma's for dinner. One of our favorites.

A friend from out of town accompanied me on my first visit to this charming eatery. She immediately commented that the aroma of smoked meat that greets you as soon as you approach the building is a welcome diversion from the smell of the paper plant, something I barely even notice as a local.

We were immediately seated by a friendly server as soon as we walked in. We ordered the Homestead Pimento Cheese Dip served with tortilla chips as a starter. It’s a generous scoop of a very mild pimento cheese spread appealingly surrounded by tortilla chips.

My friend and I both ordered the Homestead Short Order Noodles with smoked brisket simmered in stock and served over mashed potatoes. It was a hearty portion served in a bowl with a roll on the side. I gobbled up every single morsel, leaving no room for dessert in my satisfied belly.

I plan to return here soon with my parents, who I know will love this place. I’m anxious to explore more of the menu.

Brisket was really great and all the sides were awesome! Enjoyed the mashed potatoes a lot and the salad was huge.

We used Bell Farms recently for a large corporate dinner to provide FULL service catering. They covered everything from the light appetizers to a full dinner spread. They offer a variety of options including - vegetarian.
Not only did they supply an excellent meal but delivered it to the venue with the staff to handle service. Shawna was easy to work with and provided great communication.

Our 1st time eating here.food was delicious atmosphere was pleasant and service was great. Would recommend eating here.

We stayed in Chillicothe this past weekend and visited Bell Farms Saturday, October 7th, 2023. It was an outstanding experience. Our party of 5 was welcomed and easily accommodated. The ambience was charming, the food outstanding at decent prices and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Don't miss this gem.

Bigger and better than expected. From the outside it looks like a tiny house with a couple of parking spaces outside. Like it would be a hole in the wall bbq joint, but is much better than that. I like smokey brisket and had the brisket and noodle blue plate that was very bold in flavor. My wife does not like the smokey flavor and has the open face pot roast which she enjoyed. Our daughter had the lasagna special which was also tasty. Amy was spot on describing the menu and answering questions so that we got what we liked. Amy and the staff also went out of their way to accommodate us in the side yard as we met our college son for lunch and got to have a great family conversation while enjoying the food. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Update: Disappointing. The Creamed Chicken and Mashed Potatoes Blue Plate Special was watered down and not the usual portion size. Also very little chicken, but lots of carrots and peas. Small helping of mashed potatoes. The drop biscuits were tiny. Not sure we'll be going back again. When restaurants start doing stuff like watering down the food and skimping on portions, that's not a good sign. And my food was cold. I hate that.

Old review: Down home comfort food fixed like you went to Grandma's. Food is fresh and tasty. LOVE the Mashed potatoes and brown gravy! No TVs, no annoying music that takes over the meal. Clean and cozy!

Love their food here! Hopefully one day they can move to a bigger place, eating area is cramped but it's a nice experience.

I got take out, as I’ve heard great things about Bell Farms. I had their chicken with noodles, mashed potatoes and corn. It was delicious and the portions were huge!

My husband and I were excited to try this new place in town. Chillicothe does not have a lot of dining options, and I was pleased to see a new local restaurant had opened up. The restaurant is small but has a great intimate atmosphere that I loved, and it has a home like feel to it. It's very clean and nicely decorated with an old-time vibe. We were seated quickly, our waitress was wonderful, and we received our food fast.

Unfortunately, we were not fans of the food. The brisket was soft but bland and on the dry side. It tasted old and reheated. I had the brisket and noodles, which were ok but not great. They had an overly smokey Salisbury steak gravy taste. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy were good but very basic and typical. The green beans were basic (canned green beans, onion, small ham cubes). I did, however, enjoy our appetizer, which was the salmon pate and crackers. The sweet tea is the bomb!

To be fair, my husband and I have traveled everywhere. We have had some of the best BBQ around the country, and my husband smokes some incredible food. So, we do have high expectations.

Overall, this is a nice addition to the Chillicothe area, but personally, we won't be returning. It just isn't for us.

I wanted to love this small business in downtown Chillicothe, but i did not. The food lacked in flavor & was really bland, not what you'd expect from a bbq restaurant. The pulled pork was dry. The brisket was dry. The green beans were nothing special. They tasted like they opened a can & threw a little diced ham & onion in but no flavor. The mac & cheese (that is a best seller) had the quality of that out of a box. It was watery & not cheesy at all. For the price, you do get big portions, but it just lacks in flavor & tender meat. I'm unsure how this is almost 5 stars. I've spoken to others that feel similarly, so its not because I'm being overly picky. To each their own! I wish them success, but i will not return.

On a sister trip we stopped in for a quick lunch and everything was excellent. I had the special of meatloaf, the sisters had the creamy chicken with veggies, salad and spicy Mac and cheese.
Ended up having all 3 desserts.

I ordered carryout, I had never had brisket n noodles before, and they did not disappoint! I also enjoyed the kickin mac & cheese. My food was ready in about 5 minutes. They won't do substitutions on sides.

This is such an amazing place. With just as awesome food and staff. I would highly recommend. They are also local owed and have cheap prices. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
