Benson's Tavern, Reading OH

We tried to have lunch there today, 9/29/23, we had a party of 7 after waiting 45 minutes we asked about our food and was told the cook was just starting on it. We only ordered beer cheese pretzels, chicken wrap and chicken quesadillas! Unfortunately we had a appointment so we couldn’t wait, I think 3 or 4 had a soda and 2 mimosas (one was free for the bride) we was charged almost $20.00 bucks but the server said take 6 off for the free mimosa, so that left 1 mimosa at $6.00, I don’t think we should have been charged for the sodas after waiting 45 minutes! When I asked the server about the food after waiting 30 minutes she had a attitude! Will never ever go back and if I know of anyone that wants to try it, I would definitely discourage them from going there! Terrible experience all the way around! That is 100% a lie if we was told we had a 45 minute wait we would have left immediately! And you was not packed you had maybe 3-4 tables and a party of 5-6 we was the only people in your party room, so please take responsibility for your poor service that we received, as I said we it was a bad experience from start to finish! No need to respond! Have a good day!

Kari was a very sweet and attentive waitress. I really loved my mac n cheese burger on a pretzel bun. The peanut butter explosion is a great dessert choice. The staff kindly greeted us as we came in and when we left the building.

First time here. Food was really tasty. Beer was cold. Service from Steven was attentive. We enjoyed our visit and will be back.

This place is the best I have been at n awhile. There food is 2 due 4. The only problem I had was not knowing what 2 chose 2 eat, bcuz everything looked n sounded so good. But the service was great. The place was nice and clean. We r food was hot n delicious. Bathrooms were kept clean. All n all a great place. It's a little expensive, but well worth the cost.

Absolutely love this place! Probably one of my favorite bars and grills in Cincinnati! Had a wide variety of food here and never a bad experience!

Appetizers are amazing especially the potato skins. Burgers are well cooked and delicious. I have had several of the wraps including the buffalo chicken wrap and spicy Philly wrap which are both phenomenal for their own reasons. The Cajun Farfalle is a delicious but huge meal!

I meet a couple of friends here once a month before a monthly meeting and it is honestly something I look forward to each and every month including trying something new!

Also have taken the family there on a Friday night and it was equally a great experience!

If you are around Reading or just feel like good food with a variety of options definitely worth the stop!

Stopped in while dress shopping with my daughter and was so impressed. The food was amazing, staff very welcoming and loved the layout and decor. Definitely will be going back.

Owner chastised the bartender in front of us for not using a jigger for our drinks, which felt quite rude. Neighborhood taverns shouldn't be stingy with the pours, particularly at the prices in this place. The pitcher I ordered came up alarmingly short, though they fixed it when I pointed it out.

Bartender was nice, but kitchen service was very very slow despite not being very busy. The food was exceptional - the fried deviled egg appetizer was not just something I'd never heard of, it was the kind of dish worth coming back for.

Ordered a standard cheeseburger - great stuff; perfect execution. Will definitely come back to eat and watch sports.

I was visiting the area from Columbus. So glad I found this place. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional.

Picked up the Santa Fe Chicken Club Sandwich for lunch and it was really tasty. Generous portion of fries and good flavor on the sandwich. The service was friendly and the staff was kind. I'll be back, hope to dine in next time.

Very nice, clean and warm environment. Food was fantastic! Awesome menu selection. Something for everyone. Lot's of space and TV's around the bar for sports.

Delicious food and excellent service. Reuben rolls are so delicious, portions are huge and even though they were short staffed, they served our group of 9 without a hitch. Very attentive and everyone pitched in to make our experience awesome! Thank you!

Since warmer weather is if you're into lighter meals order the Chopped Salad and add grilled chicken or shrimp.
If you're wanting a delicious sandwich, the Tavern Club Croissant with a side of vegetable medley hits the spot.

From undercooked ribs that while tasty were tough and almost raw inside. To a burger that again was good but the bun was burnt.

Really delicious food and wonderful service! I had the chefs salad with the homemade ranch dressing and it was one of the best salads I’ve eaten. The family had burgers, my boy had the peanut butter explosion for the dessert and my husband and daughter had the lava cake, both were very tasty.
