Berrodin Bed & Breakfast, Akron OH

I recently spent one very comfortable night at Berrodin B&B. Dining is a short walk away. The location is very quiet, I slept very well. The bathroom is shared but very clean and up to date. Breakfast is self-serve but included exactly the kinds of foods I ordinarily eat so I was quite satisfied.

I found this place accidentally and immediately fell in love. Great comfortable room, near pretty much everything downtown, and the owner is a wonderful guy.
Never done a bed and breakfast before. Definitely do so again.

This was a wonderful place to stay! It was cozy and quiet. There's lots to do and good places to eat around Akron too. The owner was incredibly kind and made sure we felt at home the whole time! We will be going back!

Louie, our host, is very friendly and helpful both with questions before and after arrival. He has put much time and thought into making his guest rooms very comfortable, and providing essential items for a wide variety of travelers. His recommendation for dinner was excellent, and easy to walk to. The neighborhood felt very safe and attractive, although it was dark when we arrived.
His continental breakfast was easy and filling, and the coffee maker had infinite options.
The house is very clean, and both the bedroom and shared bathrooms were spotless. The price is very reasonable and a great value.

Louie was a great host. The stay was perfect for the occasion. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Berrodin B&B! It was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Louie was a great host, and he provided great recommendations on where to eat and what to do in Akron.

Really enjoyed the stay. We rode the towpath bike trail two days. The house was close enough to ride bikes to the trail. There was a locked area to secure the bikes. The rooms were very clean and comfortable We enjoyed the interaction with the other guests and the host. Louie was very helpful with information about the area and things to do. He also supplied maps and brochures that helped us.

Spent a weekend here with my girlfriend. Rooms are very nice and clean, if a bit small and we had a shared bathroom.

Location is terrific. Nice neighborhood and you are only a couple of blocks from multiple restaurants and watering holes. Plenty of things to do in the area, we had a great time touring nearby Stan Hywet Hall. Parking is a bit limited, but couldn't call it much of a problem really.

Not much of a breakfast offered. Mostly just get yourself a hot drink (which costs extra), then pick out some instant oatmeal or something similar. We knew that ahead of time and didn't really partake of breakfast anyhow, but some guests will be put off by that. I'm sure that is all accounted for in the business concept, but given most guests expect a better breakfast than that, maybe charging a bit more per night and offering a genuine breakfast would be more appealing. I suppose that's up to the proprietor.

All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and I would certainly consider booking again.

This stay was just what I needed. I was hesitant on staying at a bed and breakfast because I wasn’t sure about having other guests there and I have never stayed in one. Well I booked one night and ended up staying a week. I didn’t even realize there were other guests staying most of the time. Everything was perfect, very clean, organized and exceeded my expectations. Louie considered any need a guest might have and his efforts show by the care he has for his guests. The house is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood in walking distance to any food or entertainment you might want. Plenty of parking and even an electric car charger. Louie is a good man who truly cares about his guests. I was blessed to stay here. I would definitely recommend staying here and to not pass up the opportunity if you have it. I look forward to staying here again.

Everything you could ask for and more. Unique, memorable, and cozy. Louie was generous with his time in giving us the house tour and sharing recommendations for activities, dining, and attractions. It was a treat to be welcomed by someone who has so much pride in and historical knowledge about his city, house, and neighborhood.

Our group of six bicyclers stayed one night at this (Akron Berrodin Bed & Breakfast) on our tour along the Lake Erie to Ohio River Trail. We arrived after a day of bicycling in the rain, and we were concerned about making a mess of our accommodations. Louie was amazing at making us feel welcome, dry, and warm once again upon arrival. This B & B is a wonderful mix of old home charm and new age amenities. Louie has an interesting personal and family history. At our request, he took the time to share some stories and experiences with us.

My wife and I stayed here while I was awaiting school to start and for my apartment to become available. We had an amazing experience and can’t say enough good things about this bed & breakfast. The owner made us feel welcome and had extensive knowledge on the surrounding areas. He also was very approachable which enabled us to have many heartwarming conversations. I recommend anyone visiting the city of Akron, if you’re wanting to experience a phenomenal bed & breakfast to stay at Berrodin Bed & breakfast.

We had a great experience staying at the Berrodin Bed & Breakfast with new amenities and a cozy room. We checked out late and Louie Berrodin waved the late checkout fee and presented my friend and I with a parting gift.

First time I ever stayed in a bed and breakfast. Louie, was a wonderful man. His house was so amazing. Very close to everything that we wanted to see. When we left, he gave us the Best gift Ever!

It was an uncomfortable place to stay. I was visiting Cuyahoga National Park until very late. I used a travel app to book a nearby hotel, which brought me here. I was not aware that I booked a hotel room is actually a resident house;

When we arrived there, we met the owner at the front yard. The first thing the owner complained about was that he did not receive my cellphone number from the booking; he needed to send the link to let us finish the check-in process.
That is a small, old house for three-bedroom rentals. The queen room is unbelievably small; the bed occupies 80% of the area, and there is no table to put my laptop on. The only place we can sit down that is the shared kitchen, but the owner already occupies more than half the chicken table for his laptop using. OMG, the owner sat there and watched you for every movement; that caused extreme discomfort; we just wanted to get a quick sleep to stay in the tiny queen room, but another problem we found the bed sheet was not changed, there were some blood stains still on it, the bed was overused with an uneven surface.

The so-called free breakfast was nothing. A small bag of oatmeal with expired yogurt, you need to pay for everything—a cup of coffee for $2.5 in the overcrowded kitchen which was filled with merchandise for sale.

This was the first time we’ve ever stayed in a B&B and it was great! Louie was very welcoming and hospitable. We were only there for one night, but he made us feel at home! Cute little B&B, everything was very organized and clean! We plan to stay there again soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here and highly recommend booking, you will love it! We have stayed in many home rentals and Louie’s place definitely is one of the best. His communication from day one was excellent and check in was easy. The house is cozy and inviting as well as spotlessly clean. He obviously cares about the comfort of his guests. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath room had all the amenities you would need. The neighborhood is charming and this house is walkable to restaurants and shops in Highland Square. Do yourself a favor and book a stay!

Myself and 3 friends stayed at Berrodin BnB in mid July during our bicycle trip on the OTET! Larry was a gracious host and helped us tremendously when one of our riders suffered some heat exhaustion and needed transport for a short distance to the BnB! Accommodations are very nice and clean with a nice sitting room and a peaceful front porch to relax on! Thank you Larry for all your assistance and we certainly would recommend Berrodin BnB for any future guests!
