Bird & Exotic Pet Wellness Center reviews
21The most excellent doctors and staff! Knowledgeable and willing to teach. I won't go anywhere else even though it's a three hour drive. Love you guys!
They were so kind and really helped me through a very difficult time. I cannot thank them enough.
I want people to know not to take people like Dr. Oris for-granted. I have been to Avian vets in 5 different states and she’s the best one by light years. I would still comeback even if the service was bad (it’s not) because of how knowledgeable she is. It’s worth the 8 hour commute.
This is an amazing practice. We have 2 birds and 5 guinea pigs and we love the care they receive at this practice. All 3 doctors are wonderful people and we love the staff as well. We drive from 45 minutes away here because they are the best avian and exotics practice. We also love that we can actually go in with our pets.
I brought my GDG, Jack, in on Thursday. Everyone I met in that office was super nice! The vet we got was gentle, kind, and took the time to explain everything and gave us recommendations to improve his tank. When she was giving suggestions she was professional and not rude or condescending about it. Some of the recommendations we were in the middle of getting done, so I did tell her our plans. Hopefully she didn't think I was being rude. I just wanted her to know that we were taking what she was saying seriously. We also made a future appointment for our armadillo lizard, Ra.
I cannot say enough good about this place. They helped me through a very difficult time with my pet rabbit, showed tremendous patience, communicated information well, and really cared for me and my Gus-Gus.
I've been taking my two green cheek conures here for the past year. The vets have been treating one of my conures, Sophie, for an enlarged heart, and X-rays indicate that she has improved over the past year of treatment. I trust these vets and appreciate the time they take with me to explain things. The office staff is always friendly and helpful too.
Our beardie had some issues. They cleared it right up. She is growing and happy again. Loving staff. Helpful!
Our leopard gecko is a new patient here! I was very pleased with how diligently they took care of him and how every question we asked was instantly answered. Nikki, especially, stood out to me from his care team. She clearly loves animals and made me feel so much better about bringing our gecko there. Their hours are convenient, as well.
Doctor and techs knowledgeable and competent. My bird behaved for them, and that's high praise coming from her! Very happy with all aspects of my visit. Friendly, clean, accommodating, affordable. I couldn't ask for better.
The staff and doctors here are so nice and understanding. They understand birds and are willing to listen to any concerns. I will drive 2 hours to see this vet vs any of my locally available ones
I’m trying to get help with an egg bound hen and was turned away. Was referred to a location in Columbus which is of no help to me
The staff here is truly great people. They got my Indian Ringneck in for a an emergency visit when they were booked up, and was so friendly to interact with. They did such a great job and will be going back. Take your pets here, they really do care
I took my leopard gecko in because he wasn't feeling very well and not even a full day later with the medicine prescribed he has already ahd the healthiest poo I've seen in awhile.
I took my lovely Vida here about a month ago! They're the only vet's office in the area that will see chickens so if that's what you're looking for, I highly recommend this office! The vets know what they are doing and I enjoyed being able to watch them while they did her exam. I'm usually stuck doing all the care for the flock if something's wrong, but when I really needed help they were there for us!
I also saw a pet rat and a hamster, so if you need a vet for those critters, this is the place! Appointments only!
Amazing vet to have so close to home! Our Cayuga duck recently had a case of bumble foot and they got us an appointment within a couple days. It took a few visits and a little bit of care, but our girl is all healed up now Friendly staff and the doctors/techs all knew exactly what to do for waterfowl. Definitely our go-to for any bird care!
I have seen all 3 of the veterinarians at this clinic, most recently Dr. Orosz, for my snakes. Not only has the level of care from each one of them been *fantastic*, the prices are great, all staff have been super kind, and they have been able to help my snakes a great deal. Dr. Orosz was particularly enthusiastic about their care and medical findings which I found really endearing, and I cried happy tears in private at her complimenting me on caring for them so fiercely. One was very sick, I thought she was a goner, but she is on the mend. I've had them for years, some since they were wee babies, they mean the world to me. As such, I come here from out of state. I am honestly considering moving to Toledo solely to be in closer proximity of this clinic; when reptiles show symptoms of being unwell, it is sometimes already too late, so it is important to have a highly capable team nearby who can fit you in. I unfortunately learned that from losing a snake to a medical condition that was very unlikely to be treatable, but I still wish I had known prior to having to find out via necropsy.it's been almost 2 yeaes and I still miss her every day. Please take care to always have someone nearby for your exotic pet who is not only competent but excels in care for them.
UPDATE: My snake who was "on the mend" wound up passing away at this clinic due to her condition getting worse again at no one's fault but nature's, she was egg-bound like the snake that had passed years prior (her daughter). I guess there was a genetic risk factor in their case. They did way more to try to help her than any clinic would have, and I saw how much they liked her.
The way the Dr handled trying to save her life and how everyone let me spend as much time with her as I needed afterwards was incredibly appreciated. The condolence card I received was also the only one I've ever gotten from a veterinary office that had a Dr comment that wasn't just the same old short one-sentence message template. I deeply love this clinic and am really grateful for their expertise and sensitivity, and will continue to take my other snakes here, whether I am able to move to Toledo or not.
I brought my leopard gecko Nico here a little while back.he was the most sweetest baby. He had an infection in his testicals from sand. They told us he needed to have them removed. They brought him back with us after and when u looked at the wound, they did not close it at all…he had an open wound.they gave us medicine for him & everything went up to $300, he passed away a couple hours later even though we followed all directions. Do NOT trust them.they seem friendly & smart at first. They don’t know anything. I’ve heard a lot of others say they killed their pets too. DO NOT GO HERE!
Got me in as soon as possible with both of my rats that had emergencies. Very nice people and I recommend them to anybody looking for a good exotic vet.
They took good care of our Love Bird. Diagnosed the issue and explained everything well. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon!
