Classes with Jim Wall have been so worthwhile for my teen son. He has an amazing way of breaking things down so that they are understandable. He challenges my son to reach his fullest potential. He keeps it relevant and fun so that my son wants to come to practice. He is easy to work with and has been flexible with scheduling.

My son needed to learn mallet percussion for his school band, and Jim was willing to work teaching him the bells into his lesson.

Absolutely phenomenal. My 8 year old is consistently excited for his lessons. I remember rejecting music lessons when I was young. Jim is truly magical in how he teaches and inspires. I love his fundamentals first approach and I constantly learn something from watching lessons (and I’ve played bass professionally for 20 years!) highly recommended.

Jim teaches my son drums and is a phenomenal teacher. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is super patient and also does a really good job explaining things in a way he understands. I feel extremely lucky that we were able to find Jim and he gets my highest recommendation.

Jim Wall is an incredibly talented drummer and a wonderful teacher. He was my drum teacher when I was in middle school (a long time ago), and he now teaches my 14-year-old son. It’s been amazing to watch the transformation from when my son first started and where he is at now in his drumming ability, all under Jim’s instruction and guidance. During lessons, he explains musical concepts in a way that is easy to understand and you can hear the passion in his words. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to play drums!

Jim is a fabulous instructor and drummer. He has been teaching my 11 year old son for a year and I’m amazed at how much has been learned. Jim does a great job of blended the fun drum set rifts with the important grip techniques and the less exciting fundamentals… well, I admit, Jim really makes all of it fun for my son! He is excellent at coaching and encouraging. Highly recommend!

I’ve been taking lessons from Jim for some time now and I notice how much my drum playing has improved. I’ve progressed from from a beginner drummer to more of a musician understanding more musical concepts. Jim has been great for improving my musical style.

I have been taking lessons for over a year now and can’t explain how much these lessons have helped me as a beginner become comfortable behind the drum set. Each lesson is different with no stress at all. If you are a beginner or want to get back into lessons I would recommend these they are so fun and easy going.

I've been taking lessons from Jim for a while now, and I couldn't me more pleased with how things are turning out. I tried out a few teacher before him and I felt he was the best fit. I felt comfortable from the start and the way Jim explains things if I'm not understanding is great. What makes him such a great teacher is that he understands there are multiple ways people can learn and he's able to teach a technique or subject different ways until it clicks. I was curious how I would develop with the temporary shift to virtual lessons, and I found out quickly that the quality is just as good for the lessons. I would recommend Jim for in person and virtual lessons. He's a great guy and a top notch teacher.

Jim began instructing my son when he was just a little boy. Jim’s patience and extraordinary talent were wonderful assets for my son. He taught him well while offering excellent one on one instruction. As a result, my son developed skills and a passion for drumming at a young age. His love of drumming and music has endured into adulthood. Jim served as a great role model and mentor for my son and my son truly appreciates the foundation that Jim gave him. Blue Buddha Music Studio is a great place for recording and lessons! I would recommend for all ages whether as a beginner or experienced and wanting to build skills and techniques. A wonderful experience and awesome teacher!

Jim and his drum lessons provide me very helpful instruction and insight that have helped my playing reach another level. Not only has his instruction helped me become an overall better player but provide me with the skills and tools to practice more constructively on my own.
