Been ordering from them for years, great source for healthy hard to find plants and bulbs. Customer service is top notch and they are super responsive. Ornamental grasses have done particularly well for me in Zone 5, Colorado.

Two years ago I ordered some Lamb's Ear from Bluestone. They arrived well packaged and were (and still are) beautiful plants. My only complaint so far is their shipping charges. While I understand that shipping prices are high and that shipping is even more tricky when you're mailing plants, their shipping rates still seem high to me. I wanted to order some tulip bulbs from them and the shipping was almost 40% of the cost of my bulbs. I emailed customer service and was advised that they do not offer free shipping and offered a code for 10% off my merchandise. A nice gesture, except that it was only valid for regular priced items and the ones I was purchasing were on sale. If they could find a way to lower their shipping charges (or offer a low flat-rate or free shipping for purchases over a certain amount), I'd be more apt to keep purchasing from them. Just my two cents.

Gosh I spent $150 on super small half dead plants. I knew that pots would be small but i did not expect to receive literally one little stick with one brown leave on it. I don't believe they will survive and thrive. Never again I wil be ordering anything from this company

I buy all my plants from Bluestone. Rarely do I have trouble growing their plants, and if I do, they are happy to replace the plants. They arrive in small pots, but don’t be concerned, by fall, your spring plantings will be amazing.

My son helped me order 42 shade plants for my back yard. The plants were processed, geniusly packaged for plant safety, and still arrived fast. One week, after placing the order. We both are extremely satisfied. The plants arrived in great condition and are very well rooted. All plants are 8-10” tall and look to be about a year old.
Would like to add a little something for all the companies out there running a hard earned living: Seeing the reviews some have left for Bluestone had us a little apprehensive. But, after reading the information provided right there on the website and considering all the rave reviews, we decided to order anyway.
We are puzzled that some reviewers weren’t happy with what they received, as the website details everything about the plants you’ll be getting. (eg. Plants are 6-9 months old and 6-9” tall on average) There’s the price too!
My son has landscaped plants for over 30 years, and he agrees these are quality plants for the money. On par with our local nurseries.

I have purchased flowers, bulbs and shrubs from numerous, well-known greenhouses but Bluestone Perennials are far by the most productive and prolific of them all.
ALL of my plants and bulbs not only survived but THRIVED. Best dollar per dollar.

So far so good. My first two plants purchased arrived and are in the ground. Ordered a few weeks ago they arrived as advertised for appropriate shipping/planting time. They were nicely snuggled/packed into cardboard cubicles and roots are in a coconut fiber and upon opening, everything was moist! Wow. Amazing considering how hot the back end of UPS delivery trucks can get. Achillea paprika and Achillea Milly Rock Red are two “red” yarrows that I am adding in to my yarrow bed that already has white and purple yarrow that are volunteers. So, I am planning to protect these new arrivals for overwintering and we will see what happens Spring 2023.

Edit: Bluestone Perennials have reached out to me several times to try to make this right and, while I do feel like I was misled initially, it is clear that they do care about their customers.

I ordered several foxglove plants (paying a lot more than local nurseries) after speaking with a customer service lady at Bluestone. This was April, and I had questions about whether or not they would be shipped in time to bloom this summer. She assured me that they would. I specifically asked if they would bloom and she said yes. They still haven't bloomed, (and the ones from the local nurseries have been blooming for weeks) so I wrote bluestone (their phones are down) and this is the response I got:

"There is no guarantee the flowers you received may bloom this year. They are babies 6-9 months old and usually their first year they establish their root system. The second year is more establishing leaves and stems possible bloom, etc"

If I had known this I would not have bought these. I feel duped.a side note: most arrived broken and very small, and they did refund me for those.

I had 9 plants from a sun garden that didn’t come up from previous Fall when planted. I’ve ask several times for assistance and have received nothing.

This company WILL NOT ALLOW YOU to uncheck the “send me marketing garbage emails” box. They re-check the box automatically if you proceed to order. Never again.

I received my package of 6 Rose Campion yesterday in recyclable packaging and in plantable pots! The plants are healthy, vigorous and beautiful. It's been 20+ years since I've ordered from Bluestone. You've come a very long way. Keep up the great work and I'll be ordering again soon!

My first experience with mail ordering live plants and I am delighted. My mums came well packed and healthy. Once planted in my old gatden bed, they"ve flourished and even bloomed! Thanks Bluestone for making me look like a green thumb!

Expensive for what you get. Plants are just seedlings. They are very small and arrived in a sorry state. I hope they will survive into next season but it will take a couple of years before they are the size of plants you can buy locally.
Unless I cannot find the specie locally, I doubt I will order again.

Excellent, highly ethical company! 5 out of the 6 phlox we purchased are thriving and when we had a small issue with one they replaced it free immediately, no questions asked. Can’t recommend enough.

Wow. Bluestone sent shipping notice on a Friday before a freak 90+ degree weekend. I was sure everything would arrive crispy and dead. Tuesday afternoon they are delivered and when I open the boxes I feel the residual moisture and see nothing but green, live plants. Just *wow*. Thank you for such great packing!

This is my new favorite nursery! They are friendly and easy to work with. My plants arrived quickly and are nice and healthy! I am impressed with how carefully they were packaged and I love the biodegradable plant containers! I highly recommend and will definitely use them again!

My experience thus far has not been a good one. I purchased several plants last fall and none of them grew, after preparing the soil exactly as suggested in the package. I gave it till now to see if they would sprout, but nothing happened. Now it is impossible to reach Bluestone by phone—-either they are busy and not answering the phone, out to lunch, or the phone is constantly busy. This is not the way a business should provide service for a customer or potentially good customer.
