Boeckling Club reviews
9Very nice German pub and restaurant, German beer on tap, many other bottled imports and domestics! Authentic menu, great food and service. Banquet hall available for events and beer garden out back, weather permitting. Very private dinner space, if you like German food and drink, you will not be disappointed!
Had a lovely experience hosting my bridal shower at the Boeckling Club! The owners were helpful, kind, and very accommodating when we wanted to bring in additional decorations for the space. The food was delicious! Would highly recommend.
If you like German food and fresh tap German beer as well as several varieties of bottled beer as well as good conversation, this is a good place to go. Prices are not cheap but reasonable.
Kinda interesting work in progress. The bar/resturant was open but not. We ended up outside in the beirgarten with the owner. He was the only one there, chief cook & bartender, and groundskeeper.
Ended up having some German beir, listening to German music & eating delicious German sausages & German potato salad.
The building is a beautiful old place once owned by the original founder of Cedar Point. A really must see for the history, food, beer, ambience.
The owner was very outgoing and informative and we had a very nice afternoon.
The club is in the home built by a man that owned Cedar Point. It is a lovingly restored beauty to visit. The food is German and a beer garten is being added.
The food was delicious, the band was great, and the Boeckling Club has a very nice atmosphere for a dinner and dance night out.
A very quaint space with an emphasis on the bar, as there are only a couple of tables. Somewhat of an uncomfortable atmosphere if you are a woman, at least from my personal experience. There is no menu per say, just a few items written on a mounted dry erase board. I have not tried the bratwurst, but I had a fish special that was served as two prepackaged and frozen breaded fish filets, and soda was just generic Big K in cans – very underwhelming, and somewhat not fair to be charged money for that. The owner is very amicable, but The Boeckling Club is not a German restaurant, but a bar trying to be inspired by German culture, and its advertising as a restaurant is somewhat misleading. Hoping to see it grow.
This is a great local German bar in Sandusky with an ode to German and Sandusky heritage! They also host events and live music on certain nights. Worth checking out. The owner can usually be seen behind the bar and is wealth of knowledge about German history in northern Ohio.
This is a recently opened German restaurant and bar that is still growing. There was a small, but awesome beer selection (including German beers of course). The food available now is a small menu, but everything was very good. The owner the night I went was bartending and cooking, so it is a small operation for the time with big plans. He tells us he plans to open a beer garden (the only one in Sandusky) later in 2018. Can't wait to come back to this amazing bar / restaurant!
