Budget Car Rental, Gahanna OH

I have a confirmed one way reservation with pickup location here and drop off at different locations. When I get here for pickup they are asking for more money because I have one way reservation. Which is ridiculous, I am very unsatisfied with the budget location service here, I will never come back here again and I suggest everyone to avoid this location. Terrible location for rental car, I was asked to call customer service and change location to airport.

The two employees that helped me were great. I will definitely be using this location again.

The pickup location somewhere else did not have the cargo van I rented so they give me a 12 ft truck instead. The truck is cheaper than the van so I called customer service and they told me to speak to me return location (Gahanna) and ask for a partial refund. When I returned the truck to this location they refused to give me a refund and argued the truck is just as much than the van and they argued that the gas mileage is the same as the van. Both False. So I called customer service and they gave me my partial refund. I am leaving this bad review for the simple fact that they lied and were lazy to deal with the situation. At least Budget customer service center was nice and honest.

Rented a Toyota Corolla for a week. They had, by far, the best rate in town and Chena was so helpful and friendly!

Everything was fine until we returned the car. I grabbed the rental pamphlet with the contract in it and noticed a poorly printed piece of paper stapled to the front stating there is a $450 cleaning fee for sand, pet hair, etc. This was NOT on the contract presented to me that I signed nor were we told about it. It was just stapled to the pamphlet that was given after everything was signed and we got the keys. There was some sand on the passenger floor as we went to a beach so my husband asked if it was ok or if we needed to clean it. We were told it was fine and we left. Almost 3 1/2 hours later at 5: 08 pm I miss their call since I was on the other line. They left a voicemail at (luckily I checked my message right away) that it needs cleaned out and if they don’t hear from me in 30 minutes they will charge the fee. They had not actually looked and checked the car until then because it was raining. My husband had to drive up there to clean the sand with our shop vac. They locked up the store and left before he was even done so I could’ve even get a closed out receipt. I read the Budget contract again and it said excessive (see number 2 in the Budget contract.) A little sand (not even a tablespoon) is not excessive and to me falls under normal usage. Maybe if they had floor mats that could be removed and shaken off it would be less of an issue. Also, they should have walked out into the rain to check the sand BEFORE they said it was okay and we left.

Typically has vehicles available, staff is awesome but vehicles consistently smell like smoke

Denied renting a vehicle to me because of my service dog. Contacted corporate and they are filing a complaint against the location.

Ms Shirley saved the day! She's an outstanding customer service provider and very professional. I had some issues with the return and was charged extra but when I presented my concerns she investigated and fixed it in no time. The trucks here are hard to find and a bit old, but they do the job. Highly recommend this location!
