Customer Disservice Experience
Emailed sales associate about test drive of new hybrid Maverick at Byers Ford Delaware last week and next day called to schedule an appointment.
Showed up and was immediately asked for my license and insurance card which the salesman copied. (Very clean driving record and excellent credit score.)
Spent about an hour looking at new vehicle and sitting in it checking out features and sticker etc while sales person attended to other customer even though I had an appointment.
I communicated my high interest level —even inquired about ordering one for delivery months down the road when available if I didn’t purchase this one. I was ready for a test drive!

But the salesman and his manager said I couldn’t test drive it. Alluded to someone who earlier that day took it for test drive “three loops”. I agreed to only take it several miles. Salesman obstinately refused me a test drive. I was incredulous. It was not closing time. I was a motivated buyer who needed the confirmation of a test drive. Nonsensical persistent refusal by this young salesman and his manager.

Find another Ford dealership that respects customers. The customer DISSERVICE culture and vibe of this place speaks volumes.

The service advisor I had was knowledgeable and courteous. He kept me informed during the time my car was in for service.

Great experience today for oil change, rotate tires, 2 recalls. I called 2 other dealers this week.no one answered phones, left message. 4 days later no return call. I did get thru to 3rd dealer for appt 2 wks away for the work.decided to try Byers this morning.they said bring her up. 2-3 hrs later all done!

If you care about selling cars you have a deal waiting. Your so-called manager Bob and Grant Ceneskie the so called salesperson aren’t interested. I’ve been in the biz for 25 years and have never been treated so poorly. Bob said I won’t wholesale. I said I didn’t ask for that. He said they don’t want my 23 Range Rover trade. I said fine I’ll buy today, at asking, no trade. His response was no. He kept saying yea I told
grant to send you pictures Never happened. It took me 3 emails, 2 web chats and a call to find out nothing. The chat team at 930 last night said we’ll have a shipping quote in the morning. Never happened. I emailed Grant Ceneskie and his response was “not interested “. I have already left 4 reviews.

Byers Ford is a great dealership with knowledgeable people who were very easy to work with.

We bought a new F-150XLT from Byers Ford and it was a great experience with no pressure. Isaak was our salesperson and he was very knowledgeable about the truck. Everyone we had contact with during our multi-day decision making process were friendly and knowledgeable. Jeff gave us some great tips on accessories, Bill made the financing process go smoothly, and Bob made sure we received all the information and service during our journey.

High schooler took his car in for repairs. They were patient and explained everything to him being his 1st time there.

I took my car in for a shift cable recall and they had it fixed the next day. The staff were EXTREMELY helpful and positive attitudes all around. They even drove my car back to my location for me. I've never been to a dealership that i would ever recommended going back to but the people at Byers in Delaware changed that. I'm definitely going back for any future work that might need done on my car.

I recently bought a 2021 Ford Bronco, and Grant was my sales contact. My purchase was quick, and seamless! Grant is very kind, and NOT overwhelming. He does NOT spam you, or push you to purchase. While looking at cars I had other dealerships call, email and text me dozens of times in a matter of hours. Grant was responsive, and on task to answering the questions I asked, and didn't push for unnecessary jargon about buying the vehicle.

Bought a 2021 Ram off Jeff with Bill doing the financing portion. Very easy to work with. Very straight forward process. I was in and out in no time. This is my second truck I have purchased from Byers with great experiences on both!

Friendly Staff and great service. The reason for the 2 stars is we drove down to Columbus from Cleveland to buy this car and Jeff ensured us they did a thorough inspection on the car and showed us the stuff they replaced. We were okay with buying the car as is because we looked over the car pretty thoroughly and only saw mostly cosmetic issues and small leak coming from a coolant line. We bought the car and drove it home 2.5 hrs and parked it for the night. The next day is when it started to get bad. The car has been in and out of the shop for the past 2 weeks. Was told by the shop that the dealership, Byers Ford, reset the ECU on the the car as it is showing all kinds of codes. Kind of shady business practice to reset the computer to hide the issues. Car was showing no codes or lights on while we were at the dealership because it had been reset. Be cautious buying used cars from Byers. Still waiting to find out what is all wrong with the car as shops are pretty busy right now.

Update 3/23/23 The mechanic found out the dealership reset the ECU to clear the engine light which came on for running to rich due to bad fuel injectors. We were able to replicate what Byers had done by resetting the ECU. Car ran good for a few days then the light came back on and the issues started again. Took it to the mechanic and had all 8 fuel injectors replaced and now the engine light has stayed off. Still have a few more items to fix that the dealership tried to hide. I do not like to give poor ratings but people need to know who they are dealing with. When you buy a car that's over $20k, you don't anticipate much being wrong with it, very disappointed with the dealership. Won't ever be returning or recommending.

Update 4/5/2023 It’s been two weeks since our 45 day tags expired. The memorandum title that they claimed to be sent in the mail has still not arrived, called the dealership a couple days before the tags expired and they emailed it so that we could get plates. Makes you wonder where the one they mailed is at. Just overall displeased with our experience.
