Calaveras Mexican Bar & Grill, Youngstown OH

I’m a big fan of Mexican food, absolutely love it. I was told that Calaveras Mexican Bar & grill was a place that would not disappoint. So I had to stop out and give it a try. The parking lot was nice a spacious, no issues with the parking. My seating options were tables, booths or bar stools, I chose a table. My server was very pleasant & friendly, got my drink & dinner order quick & correctly. The My food was out pretty quick, hot & was delicious. I also enjoyed the atmosphere, calm and relaxing. They had a large & proper bar. Lots of televisions, I know I would enjoy watching a sporting event here with a beverage from the bar. Overall I had a great dining experience, no complaints. I will definitely be dining here again soon.

It was extremely slow. Food didn't have much taste and the service was slow. Will not be back.

As a pateon from day 1 I can say the service, meals, drinks and atmosphere have always been top notch. Prompt, made to order meals have the authentic flare and the drinks are very generous and resonably priced. The owner and his family are always on the premises and are attentive to your needs. A great, affordable establishment!

Wonderful Mexican restaurant with high quality fresh food. Also you can tell they are very involved in the community. Very cool spot!

Had a family gathering of 20 people. Perfect place for small or mid-sized groups! Food was great and priced perfectly.

First time there and really enjoyed it. Plan 9n going back. I have an allergy to onions, but they could accommodate me with something to eat without onions. Really friendly and helpful people.

Skip Calaveras! There is nothing that tastes authentic. Food looks like it was just put together without any care or thought. Very disappointing. There is no atmosphere, it is a building with tables and they bring food out. Definitely would never return.

Drive thru horribly slow, there prices online menu are 3 years outdated, that's deceitful.

Went with my daughter, called a friend to meet us. Had delicious food and drinks for hours. Staff was delighted to be of service. The food is the best I've had in years.

Couldn't praise this place enough. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for some good quality Mexican food.

So bland! Ordered the enchiladas with ground beef. There was no flavor to the meat at all. The sauce was very salty and so was the salsa. No spiciness or flavor to the bland, watery salsa. Only just salt and tomato water. And no heat!? What kind of person expects salsa to be flavorless? The chips were definitely the cheapest they could find. The service was okay, but these people have no idea what they are doing. This is the absolute worst Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. Don't waste your money here.

The food was amazing. Service was top-notch. Outside seating and inside! The guacamole was fresh, the cheese dip and salsa were good. The picture is the Grande Burrito. And wad phenomenal!

The food and service were both really good. The atmosphere was just fine for a lunch vibe but might get a bit crowded at dinner time.

I made a takeout order for a burrito grande and it definitely lived up to its namesake, the burrito was large and quite good for the price. The chips, salsa, and queso did not disappoint either. My only complaint was that I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes on the phone, I even gave them an extra 10 minutes before I arrived and I still had to wait 15 more minutes to get my food. Food was great but if you make a takeout order be sure to give them extra time before you show up or you'll be waiting.

Been here only 3x's always friendy, prompt, and delivers the best cuisine for the authenticity of his food. I am a food connoisseur and I can tell you first thing, they want to please their guests! If there's anything that you need extra on the spicy side or any herbs they are there for you! They cater to the American part of our culture! However I am very cultured, I like my things with lots of herbs and lots of spices. But I have to tell you, this place is very calm, peaceful and it has whatever your Indulgence are if you love this type of culture food! I will always come back when I'm running errands and need a bite to eat!
