Candy Apples Dance Center, Canton OH

I'm leaving a good review because Cathy is obviously not the character that she plays on TV.

My name is Victoria. Yes I am aware of my username above me I am currently using a friends device so please excuse that. Like I said my name is Victoria and I was held for an audition at the Candy Apples Dance Center. The place felt a little sketchy at first but I just thought that I didn't know this place well enough. I was glad that I was one of the finalist to be in the Candy Apples dance group. I was extremely grateful that Cathy was holding auditions for those who wanted to be in her group. Now the reason why I gave 2 stars is because some of the kids there were mean and bullies. I thought that they were just trying to warm up to my presence but everyday it got worse. Cathy and other staff members really need to tame the other kids and teach them to be kind. The people there dont look after the kids, they just care about dance and winning competitions. My mother and I had to save up so much money to come to this dance center after a while we just couldn't afford it because they charge so much for monthly classes. If you want your child to be in a good dance community I dont recommend coming here but then again it it your choice

Cathy harassed my daughter and i by hopping on all fours and growling at us and then she snapped my daughters legs off and tried to eat them like the wild animal she is

People really need to rate the studio with their REAL LIFE experience and not what they saw on the show. Hopefully this helps a bit. Keep on the great work Cathy!

This place is ridiculous! I loved them the first few classes until my daughter started coming home saying new cuss words! When i asked where she learned it she said dance class!

Many people said not to come here bc they saw rats and bugs and I tried to sign my kid up for dance the other day and saw a little mouse by the front desk. It’s true. Do NOT bring your child here

Y’all are leaving reviews when you haven’t even been here just to make her look bad she’s a good dance teacher to.

This place is disgusting, there is rats, and bugs! The walls are nasty and the owner cathy, she is a disgusting person, do not come here please

This place is SO DISGUSTING.

When I was little, i used to dance here at Cathy’s studio, and everyday there used to be rats and cockroaches near the bathrooms.

Cathy herself is unprofessional. She was rude to me and my friends when we did our best, and she would always congratulate Vivi and not anyone else.

Not to mention that she is just as bad as she was in the show.

Leaving a 5 star review to cancel out one of the ridiculous reviews by Dance Mom's viewers who don't realize that Cathy was a paid actor. TV isn't real folks! So if you're reading these reviews in Canton, Ohio- go by word of mouth, not these reviews. Candy Apples is a leading Dance Academy with a great reputation, fantastic qualified teachers, happy students and fair prices. Be aware of negative reviews by non-customers who believe TV over reality.

For legal purposes this review is my own thoughts and feelings regarding this business. My daughter danced at Candy Apples from the age of 1 to 7 ending this past April. This studio is toxic and the only way to get ahead is by sucking up to Cathy and Erin. So many dancers have left and went else where because of the toxic mean girl environment created by Cathy. I have video recorded proof of just how Cathy feels regarding past students who have left. She is not a good person or dance teacher. Anyone that goes there and is posting positive experiences has never been personally taught or coached by Cathy. Again these are my personal thoughts and experiences. I will be the first to admit I used to stick up for this place and sing praises. But believe me when I tell you it is toxic and people typically don't stick around very long after they get Cathy for a coach.

Cathy the owner is very rude to her students and at competitions she bothers her competitors and lies about her students age to win in a certain age group to beat others

Seriously guys. Grow up! Your gonna bash a real studio over a REALITY show! Childish! Im sure its a good studio just like abbys was. Do you not get the definition of a reality show? ! Stop lying about a studio you know NOTHING of. Im sorry people are still in high school candy apples studio dance center. Im sure you do a LOT for dancers and are a good studio! ️️

People who are here from dance moms are awful and the reviews are fake.i danced at this studio for a bit and took classes there, and it was a very welcoming environment.

I feel like all the bad ones Cathy is saying they never danced there and I went and it was gross and she was so mean and there are rats everywhere
