Capital City Appliance Service reviews
18We have had Jerry from Capital City Appliance come multiple times to help us diagnose and repair our oven and then our ice maker. These appliances are 12+ years old, but we like to keep them until the cost or frequency of repair exceeds the value of replacement. Jerry is always on time, professional and has been amazing. We are very happy with our services with Capital City Appliance and highly recommend them.
Very displease with this company. Their repairman Jerry doesn’t really fix the problem- just does “bandaids “ so the service visit will be covered under warranty. At the end of the day, the machine still has the same problems no thanks to his help. Do not let this repairman in your house.
I am so disappointed in Capital City Appliance. They came out to fix my oven, which they did but today the microwave above it isn’t working. They scheduled me for 11 days from now as a NEW service call and said they are unrelated! Seriously…. There was nothing wrong with my microwave before they came and took the oven out.
Anyone else have a bad customer experience with Capital City Appliance Service, Inc? They handle whirlpool warranty issues and we have a whirlpool dryer that is only a few months old from Home Depot. When in “sensing” mode the clock will count down very rapidly and shut off within 5 - 10 minutes and not dry any of the clothes, this is an intermittent issue but happens frequently. This did not happen the first month we had the dryer- it operated perfectly, so something failed/became defective at some point. I scheduled a warranty repair through Whirlpool and they contract out to Capital City appliance Service. The tech from capital city named Scott told me that he “never sees bad sensors” before he even looked at the dryer, so, in hind sight, clearly his mind was already made up. Scott said he was going to test the sensor. The “test” that Scott did was holding a soaking wet washcloth over the sensor and turning on the dryer- which worked for the two minutes he did that. He then proceeded to tell me that there was no issue. That was a few weeks ago, we’ve have had the same issue multiple times since. I called to schedule a follow up appointment because they did not fix the dryer the first time and Capital City said they would come back out - BUT, they are going to charge me to come out if they don’t find any issues with the dryer. Here is the kicker… they want to send the same technician out to do the same test which will certainly yield the same results… no thanks. I cancelled the appointment for obvious reasons…. I don’t need a broken dryer and a bill from an incompetent business that did nothing but waste my time and not resolve the problem. While on the phone, the manager at Capital City Appliance (can’t recall her name- older woman) was extremely rude and argumentative stating they “don’t build them like they used to”and they are refusing to replace the sensor because they “don’t just throw parts at problems”…. Her words in quotations… not mine. I’m Speechless. How the heck can they find an issue when their “test” is using a wet washcloth for two minutes and not an actual testing device for the circuits/electronics in the dryer? How can they identify an intermittent issue when they are here for 20 minutes? The manager also claimed (pure speculation on her part) that it was because we weren’t doing full loads of laundry (we do and the issue happens regardless of load size) She basically looked for any and every reason to blame this issue on us (the customers) instead of identifying and correcting the problem. Extremely disappointed and definitely one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had in Columbus. Would never recommend this business to anyone. I suppose I will contact whirlpool and try to get them to send a different company out to hopefully fix the issue. Don’t take my word for it… they have a 2/5 rating on the Better Business Bureau site with MANY complaints and 2.2/5 on Facebook and a 1.6/5 on Yelp. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for appliance repair.
Randy far exceeded our expectations. His honesty about buying a new washing machine, if the problem recurred, was much appreciated. Apparently replacement of a faulty transmission, if that is an underlying issue that did not come up as a fault this time, would be more expensive than a new machine.
Many thanks!
They were prompt in their arrival foxed the problem but a week later when i tried the dryer it does not shut off when clothes are dried.
I did not reach out to them. Im sick and tired of the terrible service put out by companies these days.
They repaired our 1991 Jenn-Air stove. Other service companies would not do the work because their suppliers didn't have the necessary part as it was listed on back order. This company was willing to do it if we could find the part. After a few weeks, we were able to locate one.
Their service representative, Jerry, was on time, professional, and competent. He was able to fix the oven door and left everything in a good order.
We had several discussions with the front office to answer some of our questions and to verify that we had the correct part before we ordered it.
We also appreciated that they were able to quote based on an email since the issue was a broken oven window that was easy to show by attaching a picture to an email. Since we didn't want to pay for a visit if we could not find the part but one didn't estimate the cost so we could decide whether to replace or repair, we were glad to be able to get a email quote for a smaller charge. They then deducted the charge from the final bill
You know they fix stuff for arrons service came to my house said yes we can fix your dryer but since it took 2 week to come and look at had to do something bought a used dryer borrowed cord from other one ask at arrons if it was ok they voided the warranty because of that refused to fix so now I will no long use arron after their customer service and will never use capital city either should change there name to scam city
The WORSE service in town. Aggressive, disrespectful and unprofessional people. They act like making you a favor. Technicians in a rush as well. Don’t let them go inside your house they are pretty rude!
We call Capital Appliance for all our appliance repair. They are incredible. They usually send Jerry! So efficient and knowledgeable. He finds the problem. Fixes it and doesn’t dawdle. Great company!
The service men were polite and efficient. I was able to get next day service. Service charge was reasonable. Will use them again
The technician assessed the problem with our dishwasher and gave me an estimate of the repair costs. I declined because the cost was more than I paid for the appliance. He was very professional and knowledgeable.
Keith is always knowledgeable and works in a timely manner. Always on time. Highly recommend him.
My dryer’s heating element died - the service technician was on time, did the repairs in short order, was helpful in explaining the work he did on the dryer. Was very satisfied and will use Capital City again!
We have to say that from the start with the person on the phone, to the service techs we were very satisfied with the professionalism of this company! Prompt, very courteous! So far problem was rectified! Thank you!
Whenever I need appliance service I call and schedule it with Jerry’s schedule. Jerry is very efficient, knowledgeable and professional in getting my issue repaired and resolving.
I have used Capital City Appliance Service for my washer and dryer as well as my refrigerator and they have been very helpful and reliable.
First time using this company, and they were very responsive. Came on time to figure out the problem, and once parts were ordered, the tech came and fixed my dishwasher promptly.
