Captain D's, Gallipolis OH

When it comes to fast food seafood, many try but few succeed. Unfortunately for the Captain D’s in Gallipolis, Ohio, I wouldn’t even categorize them in the “trying” category. This want to be Long John Silvers is not only understaffed, but undertrained. After a lengthy wait for our food my friends and I finally saw our undercooked and greasy food coming to our table. As we proceeded to dig into our room temperature “steamed” vegetables, the waitress knocked over a mt dew into a lap and cell phone of my friend sitting across from me. Thankfully the waitress attempted to wipe off the soda soaked phone… with a mt dew soaked paper towel. My friend ended up riding home in sticky underwear. However we were not about to let that keep us away from our meal. As we began to dive into our french fries (that tasted like they were cooked under a 60 watt light bulb) another friend in our group went to bring some ketchup packets to our table. He dropped about half of his handful onto the table while the other half stuck to his hand. Needless to say, our group spent the rest of our evening on the toilet. Would not recommend.

Fast friendly service. The shrimp was hot and fresh.

Worst food I’ve ever had. Server spilled a drink on me and ketchup packets stuck to my hand. No stars would have been left if it was a option

Very reasonable prices and the food is good. Never had a disappointing meal from there. My only complaint is that sometimes they are a bit slow.

I was so very disgusted with the food, service and cleanliness of the restaurant! The staff were rude, yelling at each other and even being snobby with customers including us. Our food was not what we expected or had always got. The floors and tables were very filthy. We had to wipe off our table ourselves but it was just a horrible experience as a customer and we will not be back.

Very impressive, the staff are nice and attentive, the place is pretty clean, the food is great and pricing is good too

The workers there was super nice and super fast. I think we ordered everything on menu and they got everything right. Fast service and got order right. Thanks

Lady taking the order complained about me being too quiet, then yelled at me for being too loud. Didn't check their own behavior. Dinner was unpalatable because of her. If Dave were around, he'd have gone with me to Wendy's or Burgjer King rather than endure her haranguing us. He wouldn't embarrass me for not catering to the whim of a nitwit at the window who told me not to come back because she didn't like my attitude. It will only drive me back to Captain D's again and again to continue to be quiet and polite to the nitwit at the window until they tell me to speak up. Then they can get mad at me again for yelling again at their direct request to speak up or speak louder rather than wonder how to improve or upgrade their ordering system or buy the woman a hearing aid.

Only drove through here but worth a review since we don't have these in my state. Prompt, fast service in the drive thru, very delicious, hot food with definitely generous portions. Mac & cheese is really tasty. 10/10.

It's a great little seafood place. I went there late and it was some of the best Captain D's I've had. It was hot and fresh. Fish was great. They didn't have any cracklins and that made me sad. They apparently don't keep them later in the evening. Get it together. Those are the best part!

Not only was the service bad, but the food was awful, the fish was under cooked and hush puppies was not browned on all sides and not done. The chicken strips looked like they came out of a $1. Bag off some random generic shelf,
I only took a few bite before becoming sick at my stomach. Everything was drinched in oil. The dog wouldn't eat it it was so bad, and when I did get the orders I had t bag it my self. It has been sitting on the counter several minutes before I realized it was ours and the sea food plater was drinched in oil and mostly under cooked and not able to be ate either. It was over $26.00 and I would got better satisfaction out of giving the money to a stranger on the street.

Stale fries and stale bread on the lobster rolls. Lobster rolls have less and less on them each time I order them. Its been about three months since I have eaten here its going to be awhile before I spend my money here again. The most expensive way to get rid of bad poor food is to serve it to guest.
