Cascade Park reviews
18Drive down scurvy steep hill to get to the park at the bottom. Concession stand, restrooms, huge play area for kids, pavilion for picnics. Lots of parking. Trails everywhere. Lots of dog bags/trash poles everywhere. The only down side you cannot let the dogs go into the water due to sewage that runs into the stream when it rains.
The falls are beautiful! The hike up may be difficult for people with physical ailments. I loved how pretty is was as we made our way up to the overlook.
Great trails and park for children to play at. The trail options go from paved to dirt giving you the pick the adventure. This park is great.
Just went there with our dog today! First time since the big remodel! My goodness it looks amazing and so well taken care of! Amazing job Lorain County! Definitely recommend to everyone!
I'm biased as I have loved Cascade Park for over 40 years. The city of Elyria still owns the property, but was financially unable to maintain it and make necessary upgrades. They turned it over to Lorain County Metroparks a few years ago. LCMP has done a wonderful job! All the nature is still there including two sets of waterfalls and the convergence of two branches of the Black River, but the logistics have changed. A great place to have family picnics, go for nature hikes or ride the tram on tuesdays. Modern playground, pavilions, clean restrooms. Disregard the detractors and experience Cascade Park in the now!
A hidden gem! There's an inclusive playground with water features, bathrooms (including men's, women's and unisex), a pavilion, walking trails, plenty of parking and beautiful water with cool rock formations. I wasn't expecting such a nice park. I visited in the summer but I can imagine in the fall the foliage must be breathtaking by the water.
They remodel flattened out and opened up common spaces, yet some hiking brings the nature right to you. Falls, cliffs, trails converging rivers, overlooks, all can keep you coming back.
The pride of my hometown. It's beautifully kept after the metro parks have taken it on. Lots of people complain about some changes.but at the end of the day it's still great. The natural beauty that cascade has to offer is wonderful. Two waterfalls, hiking trails, bike path. New park and splash pad for kids. If you are in the neighborhood so give it a look see. Take the time to connect with some nature and just be. ️
You know for a small is Cascade park is it has an amazing hiking trail I've been going there many many years and always go home with a smile on my face
It was beautiful. Came across it while looking for new fishing spots for me and my son. Awesome nature trails, and my two younger boys are going to love the big park. Very well kept.
My family loves this park! It’s hard to believe it’s in the middle of a city. Nice playground, great trails, and I love the waterfalls. One of my favorite places in Lorain county.
Very beautiful park! I love how the city renovated the playground, adding a splash pad for the kids, fixing the hiking trails to the waterfall under Lake Ave, and the trail that was added over the river with new bridge is nicely done. Good Job Elyria you really knocked this one out the park.
Beautiful falls. Decks down to the falls. Very little walking. There are steps. Not bad at all ti access. Water is high.
I love this place The remodeling the data is wonderful what a great place to take your shoulder and family to have a great time
Great for some walking but wish there was more picnic areas especially around the river banks for us handicap to enjoy fishing without having to go back and forth.
My family and I really love how things have changed there over the years. From the new playground and the water park they have for the kids to enjoy when it gets hot. And the new bridge they put in going across the river, the kids really love walking across it and seeing the river rushing below. Simply we just love it there!
Great park with a pavilion picnic area, playground, restrooms, a nature center (currently closed). There are various trails around the river with bridges. If you’re willing to walk a little across a bunch of rocks, you’re rewarded with a stunning view of the falls. If you want to avoid the rocks, you can take the road and then walk down.
The restrooms were clean and have “flush” toilets.
