Cassese's MVR, Youngstown OH

I’ll give three stars because the server was a nice young lady, unfortunately I thought I had good teeth until I tried to eat the chicken parmigiana, the chicken must have been in the fryer for an hour and unfortunately my wife had the same terrible meal.

First of all let me just say that the service was awesome! Our waiter Antonio gave us awesome service. (He said he was new but you would have never known that he was, he was awesome especially dealing with 6 ladies with 6 totally different personalities.) I wish I could say that the food was as awesome as the service but unfortunately I can't. Only one person out of our whole group was satisfied. I don't know if they were having a off night or if they just simply need to hire another cook. The Italian greens were absolutely horrible they had no flavor whatsoever. The Calamari was edible but the breading was simply too thick. The veal parmesan was also thickly breaded yet the sauce on the pasta was literally watery. (Like they didn't drain the pasta.) The spicy bowtie pasta tasted like pure Frank's hot sauce and that too was very watery. The chicken cacciatore was also very watery and the green peppers were not sauteed at all. I don't know if they were running low on sauce this day or like I said many sentences ago maybe they simply need to hire a different cook, but we were very disappointed with the food.

Stopped in for dinner last night before the nationally televised YSU basketball game, had a short wait, that was ok, food was great! Havent been in for awhile, will definitely stop back!

Quaint little Italian place in downtown Youngstown close to my place. Took the wife, some family, and friends. I had a pizza and wife had eggplant parm. Ate good, laughed and will go again soon.

A recent wedding experience there left alot to be desired, the employee's didn't have a clue what they were supposed to do.

Great place for our company Christmas party. Very attentive staff and very accommodating to us.

This is our absolute favorite place to eat. Plus, it's in the heart of Youngstown! We enjoy coming here at each chance we get!

From the service to the food, 5 stars all around. I highly recommend the spicy Cajun ravioli with blackened chicken, UH-MAZE-BALLS (it is spicy though)!

Good Italian American pasta at a not as ridiculous price as a lot of Italian places asking you to drop 21 dollars on. 50 cents worth of spaghetti. Overall great time and will be making this my spot when I'm craving pasta but not wanting to do dishes.

1st time at this restaurant, I can say we will be there many more times. The atmosphere was tremendously good, Our waitress Kelly was always checking on us to see how everything was going.

Looking for a place for your next event.look no further. I booked our company holiday party for 40 and it was fantastic. The food was great the staff was top notch. Thank you MVR for your hospitality in a world of being short staffed and other challenges that didnt affect them one bit. Thanks for making our event amazing my co-workers loved it! Happy Holidays!

We had our son and daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing! Delicious food and service. I highly recommend working with Joe. Great guy and restaurant.

If you love Italian food and appreciate good service, don’t miss this Youngstown gem! High quality, huge portions and super reasonable prices. What more can I say? We will be back!

Good food, reasonably priced. A wonderful surprise when it seems everybody wants to get deep inside your pocket.

While the food was good and service spectacular I was very dissatisfied with the fact that I was not allowed to order a side of pasta with my meal.this is an ITALIAN restaurant.my husband had a side of pasta with his fish.they did not have it on the menu as a side and when I asked they said no! Not like I was asking for it for free I was willing to pay for it just told me no I could not order it
