Cast Away Lakes reviews
13Great lake can be slow fishing at times but altimatly a fun clean lake and staff is very reliable
I been there 3 times this year with family and friends. Everybody likes the lake. My nephew caught a 47.1 and a bunch of 28 and smaller the couple times he been there he even won a few hourly turnaments. My other nephew caught a 40 and a few 30 and smaller. My self I also caught a few Everytime I been there just nothing to brag on but I know I will. It takes time to learn a lake. The employees are nice respectful and helpful and will talk and give you advice like as if you was one of the regulars. The lake is clean peaseful. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the bait shop. The only thing they have is goldfish and some frozen bait. I know I will hear that they can only get from their supplier. There is a bait shop in Hillsboro about 20 minutes away that you could go and get a variety of bait.sometimes I get off work alittle late then I have to I drive 45 minutes to get to the lake and can't go catch any bait.it would take me another 40 mins around trip to go there and back and they close early as well. I would pay alittle extra example if you bought something for 1.00 apiece sell it for 1.25 or 1.50. I would be happy to pay alittle extra for the convenience and pease of mind knowing the lake is thinking of it's customers and I'm sure other people would feel the same way. It's just one guys opinion. Keep doing what you are doing and give a special thanks to your employees and as of now I believe I found my regular lake. Thanks guys and see you this weekend.
It has been such a long time since we have went paylaking. We decided to try this place over Father's Day weekend. It was very clean, firepits allowed. We went around 6pm, we should have probably went a little sooner to beat the crowd. The shop had everything we needed fishing supplies (just in case) and fire wood. Fair prices. The largest fish was 57 and 48 ish. We caught 4,6,10,10ish, 28 lbs on worms/leaches and warmouth. Great place overall!
Only problem I had was all the snaggers I seen dragging bottom with bare hooks, other than that its good fishing
I recently tried this lake for the first time. We did not have the best experience. First, the website says open 24/7, but the bait shop isn't open 24/7. In fact, on the day we were there, they were open for about 15 minutes from 9: 45-10 in the morning. The rest of the day, there was nobody to be found. Second, the bait supply they sell is limited to a few options which consisted of very small goldfish and some frozen options. So, if you want decent bait, don't rely on Cast Away's bait shop. From prior reviews, I'm sure the owners will respond with excuses or blame the poor experience on me, but don't buy what they are trying to sell. From what I can tell, the lake is a side gig they do in addition to their junk company. Go to a good, well run lake like Cedar Lake in Milford. Your experience will be night and day.
Beautiful place to fish. Love seeing the bigger catfish swimming by. Great for relaxing and fishing.
Very clean lake, always stocked, friendly owners. A great place to take the family to relax and catch some fish.
What a great place and great people. Not only was the staff great but so where the fellow fishers. My nine years old was invited for smores by the staff and a ice cream truck came through!
We totally loved it here. Not easy to find but worth the effort. Stayed all night and fished our heads off! Didn't catch a thing. Watched the swallows catch bugs over the water and then the lightning bugs.
Very poorly operated and the locals crowded you out very little fish. And if you are on the side from the bait house you got to bring them around to get weighed. If you can find some one
To do so.i will not be back.
Alot of dead fish everywhere in the water and on the banks.big fish. It smelled horrible! People were rude and just come right next to you and cast their poles on top of yours. We will not be going back there again! No rules. A waste of time and money!
Place was clean but don't expect relaxing, constant yelling back and forth across the lake. Bait house party setting off fireworks.
