Chez Michel French Market reviews
11Food quality poor. Order Ruben sandwich - meat did not taste fresh - toasted bread burnt - also ordered egg salad- also very poor quality. Prices of sandwiches do not match taste and quality. Will not be returning again. Was informed owner is not on location often - just in and out. This could be reason for poor Quality. Do not recommend!
Probably the smallest Corn Beef Sandwich ever
$16 with a Ice Tea
And it was cold.
Way over price, many other places for lunch
Lovely bakery right off of 254. Lots of parking. The prices were very fair and there was a good variety of foods. My portion was huge and delicious. My toddler got a cake pop and enjoyed it.
Today I ordered food through the Chez Michel website. And I was very unhappy with the experience, the food and the service.
The website will tell you that there is a delivery fee involved if you choose to order delivery, and that fee was $2.99. Knowing the fee, I proceeded to continue on anyway, adding my and my co-workers orders to the cart. As I go to checkout I see that there is an additional 12.5% service fee that is added on top of the delivery fee which is never mentioned.
I then receive the food. It was not bad, but not worth the price. What really got me though was that I ordered two of their handpies, and the order only came with one. Honest mistake, no biggie. I called them up asking for them to send me my missing item.
They informed me that I could come into the shop and they would give me the one I am missing and an additional one on the house. I appreciated the offer, but I was at work and it is a 20 minute drive one way. So I asked that they simply deliver me what I had paid for. This is when I found out that they only provide delivery through Doordash, and that they had no way of delivering my pastry to me.
I then asked for a refund, they told me to go on the doordash app to request a refund for the missing item. I explained that I had not used the app, but their website, and they tell me that I can not submit a refund through their website if I ordered from there. I requested that they gave me a partial refund from their side, to which they could not.
They said they would need to contact their boss on what to do and would call back. To which they have not called back.
So they have hidden fees, can't provide partial refunds if ordered through their site, and was not capable of appropriately compensating me for the missing item, without me having to waste my resources to go and get it.
My wife and I walked in Sunday morning for the first time. We bought a choc croissant, e Clair, and half a nut roll. The e Clair was good, croissant was excellent maybe just a little less choc ganache filling, but the nut roll. Let me tell everyone reading this about the nut roll. It is THE best baked good in the greater northeast Ohio area. I will die on this hill. Thanks for a solid first experience. We will be back.
Ps There are very few bad reviews, I checked. I love how professional and sweet the owner is to all of the negative responses received. Well done.
Just happened to find this place on a Google search for a French bakery yesterday, so I headed out this morning to check it out. I could have stayed all day just taking in the aromas. As already stated it was very hard to decide what to get, but I did buy a scone. I got the raspberry, white chocolate. Made a fresh cup of coffee when i got home and dug in.
Oh my! ABSOLUTELY the best scone I have ever had! I will never enjoy one from any place else as I did this one. I did purchase other items but had to comment on this item, as it is what I have tasted. The rest is for when my husband gets home. I will definitely be back.
Super cute little bakery market! My fiancé got a peanut butter cookie and loved it! I got a almond croissant and a pistachio macaron! It was the best macaron I’ve had and I don’t like macarons!
I went yesterday for the first time. I bought a yellow cupcake, a piece of the mint brownie and the Susie cake. I hate to write this but the cupcake was freakin terrible. Just by touching it I could tell it was hard as a rock. Who sells stuff like this I was so disappointed. My husband hasn’t eaten the mint brownie yet. But I touch it and the sides are hard. So I don’t have high hopes on that either. I did take the cupcake back today. And I was able to exchange it for a sugar cookie. Which I am a sugar cookie lover. But unfortunately I was not impressed with that either. So you’ll have to go and make your own opinion.
Everything was absolutely delicious like alwaysFrom the freshly baked pastries to the mouth watering made to order sandwiches.
Chez Michel will definitely be my go to for breakfast and lunch!
They had me as soon as I walked through the door
with their amazing aroma and atmosphere!
Keep up the great work!
I have been coming here for a while now. I love everything I’ve gotten, find the prices to be very reasonable, and have had friendly service every time! I especially love the sourdough bread, buckeye brownies, cannolis and stuffed pretzels. The ciabatta bread is some of the best bread I’ve ever had too! Love giving my business to small little shops like this:)
