I got the take out and it was delivered in a timely manner and the employee was very polite. The food is probably the best general tso chicken I have had. And the pork fried rice is delicious as well.

This place is amazing! This is the best most authentic chinese food I've ever had. Often students at Kent from China recommend it as the best anywhere in the area. It's my favorite restaurant and place of choice to get my favorite style of food. It's all authentic szechua. Sorry I know this is a disjointed mess of a review but I just love this place so much!

The happy family was horrible. The crab was imatating imatation crab. It had hardly any meat. And the veggies were. Well, I'm not sure what they were. The egg rolls were a little well done but we're good. The wonton soup wasn't the best.soggy and salty. The fried rice was not fried it seemed like it was white with some soy sauce to make it brown. The general tso chicken, was I think pork.

This is the place for authentic Chinese food outside of Cleveland. If you are looking for your typical Americanized Chinese food go look elsewhere. This is great food with bold flavors and bold ingredients that use traditional Chinese recipes. No moo goo gai pan or chop suey nonsense. Please don't go there expecting so and if you do, don't complain your General Tsaos Chicken isn't like you get.you da foo. RESPECT

NOT your typical Chinese takeout restaurant. Yes, they have the typical fare (one comment about the crab Rangoon and egg rolls says he has no clue what a real Chinese restaurant is). Try something different for a change! The dishes are all done well and fresh. The service is friendly and attentive. A closer experience of a real Oriental restaurant (like I experienced in Japan, China an the Philippines). Casual, family atmosphere. I would recommend for any occasion!

Restaurant and next door grocer owned by the same kind couple. We had the following recomended dish: sauteed lamb, chilli fish fillet, garlic sauce with eggolant and all are pretty good.

THE BEST PLACE TO GO TO IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT ACTUAL AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD TASTES LIKE! I’m so amazed by the menu and the food tastes great! Szechuan dishes are somewhat spicy but it’s the best restaurant in Ohio that’s the CLOSEST to AUTHENTIC Chinese food! I recommend this place 11/10 to anybody who loves their Chinese food. A real game changer if you haven’t tasted what real Chinese food tastes like! Please visit this place! I am highly satisfied by this place, considering I’m Taiwanese, we share the same dishes with China, so coming from an asian who ate Chinese food my whole life? GO TO CHINA CITY!

Food is OK, large portion and price is reasonable. We used to order take out or dine in when we wanted Chinese food. The owner is very nice. But two horrible experiences with their staff completely turned us off. Now we prefer to drive farther and pay more just to get better service.

One time we ordered soup and we told them not to add any shellfish due to the food allergy. The waitress serving our table assured us there wouldn't be any shellfish but when she brought us the food, I saw crab meat in our soup. I told the waitress and she said they will make a new one. She didn't apologize but appeared quite annoyed and then she quickly brought us the new soup within a minute or so. It was so quick that I suspected they just took the visible crab meat out instead of making a new dish. So I asked her just to make sure they made a new dish as she said. She was very irritated and rude when answering my question, which made it more suspicious. When she put the soup loudly on our table, a little bit soup was spilled out. She saw it but didn't say anything. I didn't want to make a scene, so I let it go. I paid the soup at the full price with tips but I didn't want to touch it because I didn't think she was honest. And she didn't bother to ask why.

Then this Saturday night we ordered some food over the phone. The girl who answered the phone had a terrible manner. She was very rude, impatient and unprofessional. She even didn't know how to place our order. I asked her to talk to the owner who is always around the restaurant and he knows what it means. She told me the owner was not there and she had nobody else to ask for help either. We ordered the same food for a few years and nobody had a problem to place our order except her. We used the excactly same name and the same term that the owner and their other employees had told us. It was not our fault she was not familiar with her work or their menu. But instead of solving the problem, she preferred arguing impatiently in a very unfriendly and loudly tone. She was so irritated, impatient or lazy that she didn't want to ask other staff in the restaurant to help her understand what a customer wants. Moreover, she became very mad at me when I simply reminded her of her manner towards a customer. She tried to blame me and she raised her voice so high like almost yelling over the phone, which really hurted my ear. I didn't want to quarrel with her so I ended the call without ordering anything. How aweful and ridiculous was that! I just wish the owner were there listening how she just pushed his long-time customers away forever by her unbelievablly unprofessional, horrible and rude attitude.

That was it. I will never order any food from them anymore because you just don't know when you will encounter some terrible staff who will ruin your weekend. I ain't gonna pay any penny for such horrible customer service and being treated so disrespectfully. The owner is nice but he needs to train his employees to treat his customers nicely too.

The closest thing I have found in this area to REAL Chinese food. I highly recommend for people who are adventurous eaters and enjoy something different. There aren’t many restaurants in Ohio that serve this quality of Chinese food.

Really good food. There are always Chinese native speakers in there taking advantage of authentic offerings.

The menu is huge and diverse. If you can't find something on the menu, you aren't hungry.

Best chinese in Kent! The mapo tofu is amazing and there is a lot of authentic chinese dishes that I love. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Kent period.

How does anyone eat here? We ordered take out for the first time today and it was AWFUL. Their fried rice tasted like salty oatmeal. It was horrible. The orange chicken and General tso chicken lacked any flavor and the chicken was some god awful consistency. It was such a waste of money since we couldn’t eat it. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

I was visiting from out of town, and decided to try China City based on its good reviews. My first experience was so good that I returned again 2 days later. Excellent authentic food, and friendly service. I will return and recommend it to my friends.

Tried pork intestine with sour cabbage, because they have largest variety of food I've seen offered. Would order it again. Great little place tucked away.

Take out portions are lacking. They serve containers with large air gaps on top where food should be. They also cannot steam rice properly. It seems boiled with an extremely soggy texture.

WORST SERVICE EVER. My entire family was done eating their meal by the time mine was brought out to me. My egg roll was burnt to a crisp and the prices are absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! I have usually enjoyed lunch here but I will NEVER come here for dinner again. Absolutely disgusted, don't waste your money.

I don't know how to explain it describe this place as anything other than awesome. This is not a place you go to for the typical American Chinese fast food fare.

You come here for some delicious, authentic and interesting Szechuan cuisine. I can't say that I've ever had anything bad here.

Read thru the descriptions and look at the pictures when you order, as it won't necessarily be the same as the way you get the food somewhere else. But this is better, trust me.

Delicious and unique flavors and fast and friendly service makes this place a favorite of mine.

My miso soup was excellent. Had tea (free). Nice place. Wasn't crowded. Smells were great. Just stopped for tea after a movie. Will go back to try more. Neighbors seemed to enjoy their meals. All smiles. Park right in front.
