First visit in almost 25 years and still feels like home. Always treated like family here
I walked out of that school $40K in debt (had none prior), with no job lined up (my apprenticeship fell through 3 month prior to graduating), no idea what I was getting into (they sugar coated BS to get you in their school), and I would have taken a $20-$30K pay cut if I would have accepted any job offered to me by the funeral homes offered. You’re starting pay is NOT $46K. At BEST you would get $34,000, no benefits, having to work on call most if not every day for a full year. The only good thing about the school is the teachers will actually help you learn the topic… They themselves are over funeral homes and their lack luster abuse of employees. Join a Facebook group on funeral directing if you don’t believe me… DON’T GO TO SCHOOL HERE.
I will be attending CCMS 2023-2024 and so far with visit and calls I have had an AMAZING experience! Can’t wait to attend!
Lots of hoops to jump through with policies especially concerning attendance and "excused absences. " After about a week you kind of get a feel for what you're in for but it's not a bad education but it's not as enriching as they make it sound and it's certainly overbearing at times.
The staff at CCMS are absolutely amazing! They go the extra mile to give their students the experience needed to succeed.
I attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science from Fall 2014 to Fall 2015. As an Arizona resident I was anxious about moving so far to attend school at such a small college. However, CCMS provided not only a one of a kind education, but also a support system that will last a lifetime. The faculty and staff guide you from application to graduation, and your classmates become family faster than you realize. The advantages CCMS offers, such as Crematory Operator and Celebrant certifications, alongside the thorough curriculum are worth every penny.
