Nice clear evening. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful.
So may telescopes were available to see a variety of planets and the moon. My favorite was the one of the moon as they were very crisp and clear. Neat to see the rings on the planets and other planets' moons too!
Thank you for sharing!

My grandkids and I enjoyed some moon gazing this week. The observatory held a special event where local star gazers set up their personal telescopes to gaze at the stars sun moon. The eve was well attended. I’m guessing over 200 visitors? They provided tours of the 2 scopes and there were special Star Wars guests in attendance. It was a nice event to get the grand kids introduced to star gazing.

Dean and John are super knowledgeable and keep the entire night entertaining. I highly recommend taking a class. I would go in Sept/Oct for a chance to see Saturn and possibly Jupiter.

We had an amazing time at the observatory. We went to see Mercury just after sunset but the clouds were in the way that night. It was still a great presentation about the planet and some really interesting history about the site. We will be back.

I wasn’t sure how much I’d like the daytime tour or how much there would be to see. But the guide was very informative, he made sure to make the tour as interactive as possible and give everyone a chance to participate. He was very friendly and accommodating. We especially liked the sundial. It all took about 45 minutes to an hour including checking out the gift shop; the tour only cost $10 per person. Next time I’m in town I’ll make sure to do the nighttime tour.

We went for the late night date night event and it was amazing! The host, Dean Regas was amazing, incredibly knowledgeable and overall fantastic. It was a great tour even though we had cloudy skies and couldn't look through the telescopes. Highly highly recommend, regardless of the weather you'll have a good time.

Drove from Louisville to attend the date night event they host on weekends. Was an amazing experience and unique date. Girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it and Dean Regas, the astronomer there, did an amazing job keeping it fun and uplifting. Worth the trip and it will be an event we will remember for a long time
