CJ Chan, Dayton OH

I would go over here with my mother and my daughter I would always order house special fried rice a little spicy. My daughter the orange chicken my mom would order beef lo mein.we went here many times and when my mom passed away they noticed that it was just me and my daughter coming and asked about my mom one of the best restaurant experiences of my life this place is hands down the best in Dayton.

Tried this place several time and their Crab Rangoon are my favorite! Would recommend them.
Their sushi are average yet better than most places I tried.

Ordered for delivery through Uber eats got wrong order, yes reported to Uber, I called Cj Chan to see if I could get the rest of my order and they told me they don’t do deliveries though Uber and wouldn’t listen to me at all. Will never order from here again.

3 of us went for the first time and we were all very happy with our food and service. Not much room for dine in, but there are two tables still up. I would eat here again and feel comfortable recommending it.

The place was small. It looks more like a takeout or delivery place but their service was really good they were very friendly and fast but when I got the food it wasn't as good as the Japanese food that I've had before their ginger dressing was more like baby food instead of a dressing. But I have had their chop suey and chow mein and they're both very good. But their roles are just okay.

Pretty much carryout only. They let me sit down with my family but it was more like a picnic than a sit down experience. Food was good and the staff were pleasant enough

Just had take out from here for the first time and it was fantastic! Best Chinese food around.

Dine in was always amazing, but takeout has been hit or miss since covid hit. When it's good, it's my favorite local chinese place. But when it's bad it's terrible. It's priced well so no complaints there.

Beef and Broccoli combo with egg roll and rice. It was very good tasted like fresh produce.

Both the egg drop and the wonton soup broth tasted odd. We've eaten Sushi there several times and it's been fantastic but never branched out to the soups until now. I have to say it is no their strong suit.

CJ Chan is a welcome part of our restaurant scene, but I do wish the food was just a little higher quality. Chicken is cheap enough around here that restaurant chicken should be pretty great.

DISGUSTING
The chow Mein is mushy boiled cabbage or lettuce with onions and chicken, there are no noodles. I’m not sure if this is a traditional serving or not.
To me it was completely inedible. I’ve order chow mein hundreds of times from other places and it’s always served with noodles and is never just boiled cabbage/lettuce with chicken.
I will never order from this restaurant again.

This place used to be great, and the food is still pretty good, but they've been having a problem getting orders right recently. About 20% of the time there's something missing or made wrong. The portions have also gotten smaller.

It's a small place but food is good and service was amazing. Would definitely go again

Anytime I've ordered recently my chicken is overcooked and extremely chewy. Called them last time and they said we need to request them not to be cooked that way when it was never an issue before. No idea why the quality has sunk so much recently.

We tried going to CJ Chan yesterday, but didn't wind up ordering food because it was carryout only. Just wanted to mention it in case other viewers need a dine-in experience.

The quality of food for CJ Chan is really all over the place nowadays. I remember the first time I ate here 9 or so years ago the food was incredible and such great quality. So flavorful, fresh and delicious. Unfortunately every time I’ve ordered from here over the last year (kept trying to catch them on a good day!) has just not been on the same level as it used to be. I moved back to Dayton from Chicago and I don’t know if they’ve had a change of ownership since or what’s happened but I haven’t felt like I’ve had a good meal from them in a while. Kind of just mediocre at best, usually soggy and tastes like it’s been made hours ago. I hope they can get back to how they were though because I really want to support local businesses and I miss the way it used to taste

Fast friendly service and the food was excellent! I got the Veggie Low Mein, Fried Rice, Crab Rangoons, Hot Sour Soup and an Egg Roll. Yes I was hungry and I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

This is my FAVORITE Chinese I have ever had! I got the Dragon Phoenix S08. It had just the right amount of spice to it, nothing overbearing. I also got some stuff for my grandma. My gma has been in the hospital down here for almost 2/3 weeks and she would barely eat, when I brought this back? She. Chowed. Down. She ended up getting the sesame chicken. They had my order ready and HOT as soon as I walked through the door, very clean business in the front.

This was my first time trying this restaurant. The employees were polite and didn't mind a substitution; the food was prepared quickly and was still hot when I got home. It looked very appealing. The broccoli was really good; the orange chicken and lo mein were a little sweet for my taste but I am happy to go back and try another dish
