Terrible, had an appointment at 1100 for our 5 year daughter to get her ears pierced. She was over the moon excited. The store never opened and we waited for 20 minutes passed 11. They never called to apologize or anything. Luckily the Dayton mall location was super nice and got her in right away. Terrible service, can’t believe the store didn’t even open during it’s normal business hours.

Closed all day today. This was due to the only manager on shift had a family emergency. This isn't the manager's fault. This is the company's fault for not providing extra coverage to keel the facility open

I have had several good experiences at this location however Saturday the 31st, my expectations based on previous experiences were obliterated. I had my 6 year old out shopping to spend her $25 gift card. I had known upon seeing the dollar amount gifted, I'd be spending some money too which was fine. My daughter chose about $80 worth of items, I used my debit card and her gift card to pay. After we left, my daughter changed her mind about an item that was $35 (without tax) and wanted to return it, this was about 20 minutes later. So I looked up the return policy, and headed back to the store, as we had all the requirements listed online for a return and full refund. The cashier upon our arrival informed me their store manager Brooke, has a policy that if a customer uses more than one payment method, they will only give a store credit back instead of a refund. I still had the claires website up on my phone and re-read the policy, finding no mention of this. So, I asked where that policy came from because I didn't understand. It was not on the website and according to the website, I was entitled to my money back. She (Ciara) still refused stating it was their store policy individually, and because they were a small store they didn't follow corporate policy on returns. I again stated that didn't make sense to me, I had previously been a manager at Icing, a Claires company and didn't recall such a policy. I asked if this was written somewhere I could read, and if so I would happily move on. Ciara and fellow employee Skye (came over) and said no, it wasn't written, they didn't have a handbook and were trained on the spot and that's what they were told to do. They stated they couldn't tell how much money was spent on my debit card, however it is clearly stated on the receipt in a very easy to see fashion, which I attempted to point out, stating again the item was less than how much I spent on my debit card. This too was refuted, I asked for the managers name or district manager, (to which I was refused, stating the manager and District manager didn't have emails or phones numbers to be reached at) or anyone I could talk to and was at that point told by Ciara she was calling security, on me and my 6 year old for not listening and I again said I do not understand why you're refusing my refund and am simply asking for an explanation, there is no need for security. I had every item needed for my refund and was refused. Flat out. I left the store after I got some names, so I could attempt to handle it without my small child present. I called the Dayton and Fairfield mall stores and they both stated they WOULD refund the amount to my debit card and there was NO problem in doing so. So I am baffled, that within maybe 30 minutes of purchasing an item I was simply refused a refund. And when I asked for some help understanding this policy, or to talk with someone to ask if they could make an exception, I was threatened and belittled. I was deeply upset by the customer service. I was a store manager for ten years, and am now a nurse. Service is my career and I would never treat someone in such way! I will never go.back to that location.
