Everyone was amazing, helpful and friendly. Received excellent care and as a retired nurse it was very appreciated. Keep doing what you do everyday. My stay was on 2East.

I want to commend medina general on the care my grandmother got after a fall. Everyone was nice, attentive, and did everything they could.

Also, a huuuuuge shoutout to the gift shop/snack bar. Excellent selection of savory snacks and bottled beverages. I could have been there a week and not tried everything! The lady working was super awesome as well, gave me a lot of personalized attention when I was agonizing whether to for Pringle’s or for gardetto’s. (Spoiler alert, I ended up getting both! ’)

Highly recommend this place for care after a fall or other physical calamity, and I’ll be sure to patronize the snack bar anytime I’m passing through. Well done team!

I'm switching to Summa as of today with my first appt. I won't go back to Cleveland clinic again after going for decade's. I have been told twice by their neurologist David Williams to give up on looking for answer's for my health issue's which thru me into a downward spiral mentally telling me to give up and showing me he doesn't care.
I had a fall over Christmas weekend and was groped by the radiologist.
This place use to be one of the best. I travel almost an hour to go to Cleveland clinic because I have thought so highly of them but not anymore. Now I'll travel almost an hour to summa because my local doctors are trash.
I also delivered all 6 of my kid's at this hospital which was a good place back then.
Cleveland clinic took over, booted the maternity ward, made changes, and now their trash.

If I could have less then 1 star I would. After my first labor and delivery which was HORRIBLE, I am now going to summa health and have loved them. Even a high risk Dr was astonished on my medical history that had happened at cleveland clinic. Just stay away and find any other Dr your insurance takes, if they only take cleveland clinic you need to switch insurance companies. Your life actually depends on it.

Our father-in-law was sent their from his care center. We had health care POA. We told them what we wanted to happen and they ignored us. One Dr.would put him on meds to help his anxiety and then the family Dr on call would come in and take him off them saying it was no quality of life. He was dying of bladder cancer! It was more important he was comfortable. Plus, they shipped him off to another hospital without a word to us. We went in the next day to visit him and he was gone and it took them over 20 minutes to figure out where they sent him! We are still thinking of getting a lawyer. I am sure you are not allowed to just send people off without consent from whoever has the POA.

I understand that hospitals are understaffed and overwhelmed, but when a nurse sneaks into a room only to TURN OFF a call button and then doesn’t return, that’s a problem. My parent doesn’t abuse the button so when it’s used, it’s needed.
I also don’t understand the cafeteria situation…It’s too bizarre to even address here. I’ll just say, that not everyone has the luxury of leaving to get a decent meal. From the lack of hospital staff eating the cafeteria food, I’m assuming most of them pack their meals at home. Those of us here due to an emergency, don’t have the option of bringing food from home. I was there at the peak of the dinner hour and I was the only person in the entire place. I kept asking myself, “Isn’t this part of the famous Cleveland Clinic? ”

Wrost hospital ever, their lack of knowledge and care for their patients in the ER is horrible. They didnt take a trauma patient back and made us wait for well over 30 mins and than still didnt do anything. Ended up leaving because of the lack of card. Worst ER In medina

Went to the wrong building, then couldn't find a parking space, found the lab 15 mins after my scheduled appointment time and checked in. Over an hour later and everyone that came before and after me has been taken back. For goodness sakes they are just drawing my blood. Go somewhere else if you need a blood draw. This is ridiculous.

Bad bedside manner and little communication. The man in the room across from me asked for pain medicine many times which the doctors brought and set outside of his room, almost an hour passed before they realized he could access his medicine. This man sounded over 90! Poor guy: (I was told I was “too old for this” while in pain. The doctor and nurse told me I had to call a counselor before I left so I ask for a number and if I can call and they said no. To my surprise 4 hours later when a counselor showed up. Thought I was going to be having a phone call?

The nurses have a hard time getting an IV in me, so they have to use an ultrasound machine. I am a little afraid of needles (don’t judge please.) it took the nurses and paramedics, to get an IV in 7 times. The Drs were great once you got in to see them. I didn’t get the first name of the nurse, name in the ER, But she is the one who could not get the IV in. Then when taken up stairs to my room? NOT SURE, there is no room number posted in my room. And don’t dare say what? They get very upset. So I had to get wheel chaired backs. I was afraid to ask any questions, it was almost living back home w my parents all over again. Pray you do ever get Abraham, for your nurse. She moves slower thank a snail wait maybe should say a worm. PLEASE MEDINA GET ANOTHER ER COMPANY IN MEDINA OHIO I am begging you and I am sure a lot of other people are too would like to see another hospital or ER. Also heard a nurse tell a police officer, “ if you don’t like our service here, go someplace place else. There is NO other place to go?

The receptionist or whoever he is at the front desk of the emergency room was very rude and short when speaking to me and my friends. He also said that this isn't a covid testing facility so we would be wasting our time waiting to be seen when we are too sick to even go to work. We don't know if it's covid nor do we care. We just want to feel better. I can tell this guy hates his job. Hopefully the service gets better once we go through the doors.

Wish I had the option to leave zero staffs. I’ve never met a more unpleasant staff in my life. Thought maybe it was just a long shift for the first nurse/doctor we had but then the next shift came in and they were just as unpleasant. Completely unacceptable to treat people in pain like their stupid.

Went to my child's appt.and was told that there is a masking requirement in order to see a provider. Be aware that YOU WILL BE FORCED TO WEAR A MASK if you want to see a doctor here. If you don't need to go here, DON'T. We have to put a stop to authoritarianism.

I wanted to make this review as I received extraordinary care from Medina Hospital. I had an outpatient ankle surgery yesterday, my surgeon was Dr. Chicorelli. I had been seeing Dr. Chicorelli in the medical office building beside the hospital, and everyone there in the orthopedic department also is amazing. My last ortho surgeon left her practice just as I was about to get surgery with her, so I had to find another doctor, and basically re-establish my case with someone else. Dr. Chicorelli was very good at understanding what was wrong, didn't act like my problems were nothing (which many doctors in that specialty do), and she decided the best path forward was to not waste my time by making me go back to PT, and go straight for surgery. My weight was a problem for my previous doctors, but she never mentioned it. She understood that I had a chronic condition and that kicking the can down the road would only be more harmful. I seen her and we finally got consent to do surgery on 6/1/22, and the day after the surgery team called and we scheduled surgery for 6/7. This was very shocking to me, as I wasn't expecting it to be so quick that they had an opening. All day that day, I got call after call from everyone from the Clinic to just get all my info down. Very efficient. Everyone was very respectful. I was able to even get my pre-anesthesia evaluation done the same day, as they had a ton of openings in a ton of locations. The provider at the pre-anesthesia evaluation was amazing, listened to my concerns, and cleared me for surgery. I hit a snag though, as my insurance wanted a prior authorization for the surgery, so they submitted it, but the financial representative called me later the same day, and said that he got approval from the Clinic to go forward with surgery since it was scheduled so close, and that the prior auth would only slow down the surgery process, so the Clinic approved me to go for surgery regardless if my prior auth came back, if it was denied they told me that I wouldn't be held financially responsible either.
The day of surgery, I was very anxious as this all happened so fast. I met my anesthesiologist, and she put me at ease, made me comfortable, and all of the staff were the same way. The staff all wanted to make sure that I was in as little pain as possible, and was calm the whole time. They truly seemed to care about my well being. The surgery was a success, and I am in very little pain still (the day after surgery). I had a question about my leave of absence paperwork, so I called my Dr's office, and they promptly responded to me today saying that it will all be taken care of.
I also want to thank them for making my family member also very comfortable as much as possible during my surgery day, they really just tried to make everyone as comfortable as possible, and the whole process was (chaotic but) very smooth!
I identify as non-binary also, so just a heads up to trans folk, this hospital is very inclusive of that. Sometimes they did slip up, but they all corrected themselves when referring to my pronouns, which is honestly pretty rare to see for a health care system to do. I felt very comfortable with everyone, and everyone treated me as I was a human.
I would recommend getting surgery done here, and would also recommend seeing Dr. Chicorelli for Orthopedic problems. She is amazing at what she does, and truly is quick, responsive, knowledgeable, and just all around had great bedside manner.
Thank you so much Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital for my amazing experience in a potentially very scary surgery.
