Cleveland Clinic Mellen Center reviews
8Terrible experience. Dr. Fox didn't listen to me at all. I'm 19 and have been dealing with MS symptoms for 10 years. He immediately brushed off my issues. It felt humiliating. People praise the MS center but it's really not as incredible as people crack it up to be. Absolutely absurd to have a doctor say there's nothing wrong with me. Waste of gas money I tell you.
I've been going to The Mellen Center for 7+ years for RRMS. I've had MS for 17 years. The pain and the cognitive abilities I'm losing are not of concern to them.
Dr. Mary Rensel, who I have seen since I was under 10 years old … saved my life. On more than one occasion
After the honeymoon is over, don’t ever plan on seeing a doctor again. I travel from out of state, Pa to Ohio. Getting evaluated was fairly thorough and done by a Dr.that was the last time I saw a Dr. Nurse practitioners come snd go at this place like bowel movements, that is the first indicator of problems in paradise. Getting my insurance approved was problematic from the start. The clinic says it’s blue cross and blue cross blames the clinic. Well, the clinic over billed and wouldn’t provide proof and sent to collections. Long story short, they owed and paid me $738.00. I was a patient for 3 years. I have ppms. The stress this place caused me was unfathomable. The last time I traveled there, I was met by the nurse practitioner, paperwork in hand with a form stating I would be on the hook for $150,000.00 for a 6 month ocrevus infusion. I drove 21/2 hours in a snow storm just to turn around and drive home. That was the last time I used them for anything. I wouldn’t take a sick dog to this place. Any grant money this place gets should be yanked as the conditions under which research is conducted is not controlled properly or by using sound scientific methods for collection. They pressure patients to participate and become persistent if you refuse to become a subject. No means NO!
I love this place! The Cleveland Clinic Mellen Center basically treats multiple sclerosis and other similar neurological disorders. My nurse, Jennifer Sedlak, is fantastic! She is absolutely wonderful! Jennifer is so patient and she always listens to my concerns. Jennifer always tries to find a solution to whatever difficulties I may be experiencing. Dr. Jeffrey Cohen is also very good. He has great bedside manner and also listens and is very patient. It’s amazing how he puts across even the most difficult and hard to explain topics in a simple, easy to understand way. He lays everything out for me. Even though I have a difficult medical case, they both make it seem like I am their only patient, and they have all the time in the world to answer questions and explain everything. Whenever I leave my appointment, I always feel that they have addressed all my questions and concerns. I would highly recommend this medical center and this team. They are the best! ️
I was originally diagnosed and treated for MS at the main campus neurology department by Dr. Richard Lederman. He was a fantastic Dr.and I have nothing but praise and respect for him. He retired and I was referred to the Mellen Center. I see Dr. Boissy and Malissa Ayers, PA-C. I had a routine appointment today and am very impressed with the Mellen Center! I get labs, mri, testing done all in one visit in the same facility. I am very happy I decided on The Mellen Center. I drive nearly 3.5 hours to get there and it is well worth the trip. EXCELLENCE.
I drove over 2 1/2 hours to get a second opinion from DR. Fox. An assistant did a neological exam and you could tell she was concerned. However, after she left the room to get Dr. Fox, she came back in with her head down. I of course, already knew I had MS and was ready for the bad news. To my surprise Dr. Fox told me I did not have MS. He told me Anxiety, Depression, and fibromyalgia was causing my symptoms. I was really confused because I have all the MS symptoms. After coming home and seeing a third neurologist. It was again confirmed I have MS. All my tests were positive. I'm mortified this doctor didn't care enough to help me and instead lied and have me an unprofessional opinion (He didn't even have my MRI films). Shame on you Cleveland Clinic for letting this practice happen. You were recommended to me as the best place to go. I got more help at an ER and great customer care. Boo to you.
