Cobbler John's reviews
10I visit Cobbler John's every now and then as I pass through Marietta for work. Very skilled and expedient, been wearing the same pair of boots for 5 years. Re-soled once and re heeled twice
Service, skill, and quality.these words sum up the experiences I have had at this shop. I trust their work and highly reccomend them to anyone needing shoe services.
Was referred to the store by the leather shop and the incredible craftsman in the shop repaired my purse on the spot, charged a minimal amount and I loved the friendly service, and the awesome work! They will even repair things that you ship them.
Took in a expensive riding boot. Spur rest was riveted on. They were made from different sizes of leather and do not match the other boot. The rivets rubbed my heal. Stitching from new zipper was unevenly stitched.a adhesive was used that rubbed onto a expensive pair of riding breeches and it will not come off. Toe cap was not stitched on straight. Very slip shoddy work. Do not take good shoes or boots there. Steps are steep n treacherous goin down to the shop.
Superb craftsmanship. Bill has restored several shoes for me over the years. His attention to detail and ability to revive a set of shoes is at times better (much better!) than buying new. He recently restored a pair of dress shoes for me and my favorite pair of summer boat shoes. You simply can’t find a more skilled shop around.
Just as it always has been, Cobbler John is a blessing to those of us who want to get a bit more life from our leather goods!
Cool unique place. They had my grandma's insoles she needed. They take cash only. Be careful going down the steps.
One of the last places you can get cowboy boots or nice shoes repaired very dedicated to his art a real cobbler
Bill always exceeds my expectations, I've used him to resole and mend both beef and exotic leather. No matter the boot or the problem my boots come out looking almost new. Great job guys, keep up the great work!
I swung into the shop at 5: 23 thinking I would be turned away so late in the day. I asked for a "quick little shine".
I immediately became lovingly intoxicated with the charm from both owner and shop. The twisting smells of polish and leather are similar to that of any pit barbecue restaurant you have visited.
More impressive than the smells, was the site and sounds of all the 1960's era cast iron machinery used to work magic on my old shoes.
Bill, the owner, looked at them like a priceless Monet needing restoration. The more he worked on them, the more he found wrong. He would apply a dab of this and that slowly building the luster of the leather to greater than new perfection. He even used a fantastic leather stiitching machine to reinforce the uppers! Each time never asking, just rehab.
I found myself disappointed when it came time to leave. In a very short time, while talking to a complete stranger while standing in socked feet, Bill became a friend.
Truly a master of his craft.
