Lived here for one year (in 2018) and would not recommend to anyone! Not the greatest area to live in as there were car break ins often down the street. We had to make a service request multiple times to get rid of the cockroaches (we kept everything very clean!) The management/leasing agents had no communication with us as well.

So I've lived in colonial club apts for 5 yrs now and I will say its been a consistently solid place to live. Maintainance issues that I've ever had have been quickly and competently addressed. Management has always been open and easy to deal with. The grounds are always maintained and taken care of by thier landscaper, and management has made a concerted effort to keep our apts clean and bug free, which is very important! Overall, decent and respectful neighbors in relatively safe environment. Then of course there's the convienence of living in trendy Lakewood, where so much is simply within walking distance for you. Minutes to the Shoreway or I-90, minutes to the beach/Edgewater park, etc. So this is a comfortable, affordable place to call home in a wonderful community, Lakewood. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The inside is very nice. I love the one bedroom that I have. It's close to Aldi, Walgreens, CVS, and many fast food joints. It's right on the edge of Lakewood and Cleveland. There are many restaurants as well as bars within walking distance. There are two gas stations nearby with cheap gas prices.

The one bed room comes with a bed, bath, living room, dining space, and kitchen and is 500sqft. There are two washers and dryers on each unit costing 2$ each per use. There are no elevators just stairs. It's only three stories so it's not much of a walk. There is an area for bikes and a parking lot for cars. Family and friends need to have a sticker on their vehicle stating that they are visiting otherwise they'll be towed.

My only complaints are they they try to scam you out of your money. They didn't mention that the water and gas bill are included in the apartment cost. That added an additional 25 dollars to the original cost making the one bedroom 655$ a month. It doesn't come with wifi so you'll have to pay for that, companies to choose from are at&t and Cox. At&t cut the wires after an occupant is out of they apartment so you'll have to pay for installation.

They do about four different inspections all for pretty much the same thing in the span of a month with a 24 hour notice. For me this happened in October but it may differ. They check sinks, fire detectors, and windows during each inspection.

There is also late fees if you don't pay the monthly cost a certain way. It has to be direct deposit from your checking or savings account. If it is through check or transfered from your account there can be an additional 20$ fee. I personally have no problem with this since I am able to do this accurately and on time but it might be a problem for other people.

The locks could easily be broken into as well if someone kicked in the door but I haven't had a problem with that. I do like living here those are just the complaints I have. If you are able to work with their system you should be alright.

Worst place I've ever lived. The first day we moved in our bathroom ceiling caved in from water damage. Filed consistent maintenance reports but the problems are never fixed. Our bathroom has mold and extreme water damage, which they were informed about SERVERAL times, and when they do try and fix it they just cover it up. Maintenance enters your apartment whenever they feel like it, they've asked permission to enter without us being there and we said no yet they appear anyway, sometimes without our knowledge! And yet after all these appearances, we haven't had our bathroom fixed. This is a health hazard to me and my pregnant wife as well as illegal. Extremely overpriced garbage. Would not recommend to anyone.

This is a pretty solid place to live. There are no bugs and the rent is low! There is a lot of free parking, the neighborhood is safe, and it's close to public transportation and a few nice bars. The draw backs are the third floor gets ungodly hot, the neighbors can be heard through the floors and ceilings, the kitchens are very small, and there are no dish washers. Overall it's very solid, but there are some draw backs.

I have been living in Colonial Club Apartments for 30 years and I still love living here! Believe it or not, there is a man who has been living here longer than me. The managers are prompt with indoor maintenance. They take care of the grounds like the outside greenery and trimming the flowers. Snow is removed promptly. I like that when you renew your lease, you get something new like cabinets, ceiling fan, etc. Pest control comes monthly to every apartment which is important. The only negative I have is that they are making everyone pay their rent online. For older residents who are not computer savvy, this is challenging and I feel we should still be able to send a check without getting penalized. Posted for Sakeenah Francis by her daughter.

It was my first place so we were desperate to find something that we could call our own. After living here for about 3 years, I wouldn't advise anyone to move here or think about moving here. Parking is horrible, apartments aren't upkept, maintenance-wise, and rent keeps rising. It's a good first apartment if you're only planning on staying one year. Management absolutely sucks and can be kind of rude at times.

Management is honestly so terrible. They truly do not care about there tennants. Had a raccoon making a hole in my ceiling.they put a piece of wood to cover the hole and said it was fine. Do you even know how scary that is? ! What if I wasn’t home? ! I would’ve came home to a raccoon roaming around my place. Management could care less apparently. When you call them they want to put you on hold or have you talk to someone else or have you call them back. And as of currently I have a flea problem and yet again management could care be less. The management here is really god-awful. Their team demonstrates that money is really the key focus, not the safety of the tennants. They also refuse to put locks on the front entrances of the buildings. They said it would cost too much money to make new keys. That is a very poor excuse. Please don’t waste your money.

Parking is ridiculous, need angle parking to allow people to park. Overall nice place, quiet neighborhood.

Strongly advise against moving here. Obviously not a clean place - my sister moved here at the end of April of this year. June 9th she noticed she started getting bites all over from bed bugs (she never had a problem with them at her former apartment so she did NOT bring them with her.) It is July 11th and she still hasn't been able to stay in her apartment because the bed bugs persist. They have exterminated once and told her it could take up to ten days for them to completely die off. More than ten days have pass and she is still squashing bed bugs. They are exterminating again tomorrow but in the mean time the management company has been completely unapologetic about the situation. They said it'd cost her a ridiculous amount to break the lease even though she hasn't been able to live at her apartment for more than a month, and now at least another 10 days. They actually told her it isn't a health risk.which may be true but it is disgusting, and expensive to keep having to wash and replace linens, towels, clothes, etc. They have done nothing to offset the cost of this inconvenience either. If you want to deal with a company willing to bully their tenants into staying in a bed-bug infested building, then I guess you'd be ok with living here.

Experienced some of the worst management and maintenance issues that I can remember. I'd recommend upping your budget to afford something better than how Colonial Club will treat you. They do not like to make repairs while you are a tenant, yet will claim you owe them for maintenance issues because issues were not fixed.

Love my apartment. We're close to all major freeways as well as tons of dining and entertainment options. Maintenance is pretty good. Apartment is the perfect size. Rent is a reasonable amount as well, plus everything's electric so there's no gas bill. Only issue is the parking can be scarce and the property management isn't very easy to get a hold of.

They will try to scam you out of as money as possible. Nothing was repaired while I lived there even though the maintenance staff was in my apartment every month. I had to get a lawyer to get out of all the fees they charged me when I moved out. Horrible place.
