In truth, I never leave reviews like this, but unfortunately I feel compelled to because my experience left such a sour taste in my mouth. I was super excited to do some formalized training with my Doberman puppy, and I signed up for the beginner obedience class as a way to gain membership so I could do some of the other more advanced classes offered. However, Kathe Friedlander, the membership chair and my only point of contact, made the experience pretty awful for me.

On all of our phone calls (3 total), Kathe was weirdly condescending to me, even though I'm an experienced dog owner (I have raised five puppies total, two of them Dobermans). Still, I shrugged it off.

The real problem arose when I repeatedly stated that I needed to be in the 8pm class, and Kathe never took the opportunity (there were many!) to let me know that the orientation, which is mandatory, would be an hour earlier, at 7pm. In fact, Kathe sent me an email the week before class with the WRONG class time on it, and when I emailed to confirm that I was actually in the 8pm class not the 7pm, she merely confirmed that 8pm was my class time and STILL did not take the opportunity to set me straight as to the fact that the orientation was at 7pm! (In retrospect, I almost feel like she wanted me to miss, otherwise I really don't understand why she wouldn't have clarified this detail when it was SO easy to do?)

So when I inevitably missed the orientation, she called me immediately (in fact, I was on my way to Columbus All Breed, thinking that the orientation for my 8pm class was at 8pm, go figure!). Over the phone, Kathe proceeded to scold me about not being present at orientation. She blamed me for not understanding that the orientation was at 7pm and told me that, because of my actions, it meant that someone else had not gotten to do the class. I was honestly shocked by the way she was speaking to me. I told her that I had never received an email explicitly stating that my 8pm class's orientation would be at 7pm, because, again, she had originally sent me an email with a different class time on it entirely-an error. To this, she snapped at me, "Well I can tell you the email didn't bounce back. "

Again, I was pretty shocked by the rudeness, as I am a completely non confrontational sort of person. Still, I generously chalked the mistake up to a misunderstanding between the both of us, even though I really feel it was her own communication mistake. Kathe, however, refused to take even an iota responsibility, and continued to go on the offensive. You would have thought I had brought the whole dog training business down! She kept scolding me and trying to make me feel guilty, and this went on for several minutes until I'd had enough and told her I had obviously not gotten the time wrong on purpose, and I wouldn't be signing up for any class in the future because she was making me feel pretty awful.

It was the weirdest interaction I've had with a virtual stranger, and because I'm an overly sensitive person, it left me upset and in tears. (Also, I did not get my money back, but I figured $120 was an okay price to pay to avoid further interactions with this particular woman.)

I was specifically given instructions not to enter the building due to my puppy coughing I left my phone at my house I return to the appointment 15 minutes late because I was adhering to their directive of not entering the building. They stated that because I was 18 total minutes late to the appointment even though I was on site at the beginning I just simply could not come into the building for their directive that I would not be able to get my deposit back on the appointment which was supposed to be refundable and my only option was to come back later in the day which I was unable to do because I had to go to work and this appointment was scheduled prior to my shifts. I'm now out $60 was on hold for over 30 cumulative minutes and was not even given a sorry for the inconvenience of being on hold for 20 minutes at a time. I will never schedule another appointment at this facility.

Great place to start training your puppy or adult dog! It's the most reasonably priced training facility in Central Ohio!

Dont send your dog to a trainer - take your dog to training class, where you both will learn to be a team!

We attended the Puppy Kindergarten classes. There is a $100 fee and you make sure your Puppy has all of their vaccines before attending. The trainers are highly skilled and knowledgeable. They make classes fun and we've learned a lot. One tip: Practice, practice, practice!
