Columbus Metropolitan Library - Karl Road Branch reviews
18The major problem I have with this library location is the African people does not know how to be quiet at the silence area they will come, and play music, talk with each other when people are trying to study they do not respect the silence sign at all. And security does not escort them out. They come to the silence area to do group study, and make noises when they have plenty other places they can do group study. I wish the library staffs will emphasise the silence rules better.
Facility doesn’t know how to enforce keeping library quiet in the quiet study area. Today I experienced individuals playing music on laptop in quiet area study center. Hope you guys get better at enforcing this rule!
We’re in winter but this place barely turn on their heater. This library is extremely cold and I see kids wearing their jackets inside. This is so wrong!
I love this location, friendly stuff, the reason I gave just 4 stars because of people attending this library they are not respectful, children's running everywhere with no parent supervision.
Hi I just want to everyone knw that I really enjoy working at the karl rd libary I already miss you guys.blessings to everyone I'll be visiting u guys.love everyone
“Book is on shelf at this location” “Book is ready for pick up” arrive to location at 6pm, book is not on shelf, on hold, and according to staff member not at location and is in transit. 7pm “Book is ready for pick up” call library and book was there the entire time? Very frustrating especially when the library is not around the corner from me
It’s very crowded, people are always making crowd/phone conversation/chatting but no one is there to make them silent.
If you looking silent environments than this is not your place to study.
It’s kind of coffeeshop.
Used to be a nice branch, but they literally never have any computers open and it's too over crowded. I even went in this evening and sat down at a computer that was very much available for use and suddenly it was reserved. I would rather go out of my way to another branch than come here.
Staff was helpful but with the loud speaker going off and people coming and going and people leaving their devices on loud instead of silent makes it really hard to be able to study in the quiet study area.
Aww y'all, they have touch screen computers. Coming from Philadelphia you would be lucky to get a chance to use the fat back computer, lol. But I love it makes using them so much easier.
Helpful staff. Returned "lost" book. Person on duty was new, and unfamiliar with process, but immediately got assistance for both of us.
Another day, I needed technical assistance and received it.
I Have Seen Groups Of Children Doing Drugs (Pot, Joints, And Much More)
They Probably Don’t Even Think To Install A Camera Back There
They have good service and the staff are very helpful when I lost my card they gave me a new one free
I went to the Karl Road location a few days ago. I went to ask a Librarian for help she told me to hold on and she would be right back. However, she never returned. I waited at the front desk for assistance for about 10 minutes. When it was my turn, I told the Librarian that the copier wasn't working properly. She told me to ask someone closer to the copier for help because they were too busy (which that area had a line too.) I looked at her in disbelief and she found someone else to assist me. I have to say, I never experienced that kind of treatment at a library before. The Librarians at the Reynoldsburg location have always been polite and helpful. They take their time helping every individual, no matter how busy they are. I was very disappointed at the Karl Road location.
This is not a great library to get your work done. If you are a serious student and someone who wants to work and not play then this is not the library to come to. Too many (ghetto) people come to the library and utilize it as a social hour & club environment instead of using it for a place to learn and educate themselves.
Also too many parents drop their children off to use this library as a babysitting environment and they will run a muck in the library. This has been a long ongoing issue. This library is very noisy and the staff nor does anyone else implements quiet study. Too many people use the computers to get onto to social media and to listen to music instead of doing homework, doing job research and any other research that can elevate their minds and bettering themselves.
Also it might be wise to wear a medical face mask while attending this library because people will spread their germs by coughing and not covering their mouths causing you to have a cold or flu. Also keep your property on you at all times there are many thieves that attend this library. If you take your eye off of your property for a minute some disgruntled entitled fool might confiscate your property and you will never get it back AND little effort will be given to help you retrieve your items. No wonder why the education system and economy is awful. Sorry, there needs to be a better library environment.
If you are there to use the computers you will be waiting a while it is usually filled with rude people and school kids playing games
The staff here is always friendly and helpful. There are generally alot of kids from the neighborhood hanging out here. I love being able to reserve books online and pick them up here.
I love the Karl Rd branch! They are friendly and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help me locate resources. What they don't have they order for you! Then they have the app! It's super convenient! You get a text to let you know items are in transit and when to pick items when ready! It's the best!
