Darby Creek Nursery, Hilliard OH

Was excited to find this place! First visit was ok second visit not so much. Lady was so rude I had to leave before I completely lost my serenity. Someone that bitter and nasty should not be dealing with customers. There just is no excuse for her behavior.

I wish I had taken photos. The plants were well cared for and beautiful. Process were so reasonable, I stocked up and about a few special not on my list items too. Expert assistance at this nursery.

First time there loved it. Lots of nice plants and they knew everything about the plants very nice people

I am not one to ever write a review but I went to Darby Creek Nursery for the first time this week and I was blown away with how amazing this place was! Cheryl helped us and taught me SOOO much! She really knows what she is doing! I have never been to a nursery and had so much help especially with someone who was so personal! 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone!

Thought I would buy local and support a small business during covid 19. Shocked to see the owners, with one wearing no mask and the other wearing it on his chin by the checkout. This was in their one greenhouse full of customers. When I mentioned the wearing of masks, they laughed. The owner's daughter then asked her mom to put a mask on and she replied, "I'm leaving soon, anyway. " I mentioned how healthcare workers are risking their lives for us, and the mom then says the daughter works in a hospital, too, as if that excused the irresponsible behavior. The same daughter then says lots of customers shop there without masks. There will be one less customer tomorrow, though.

Great service and knowledgeable staff, Cheryl was great to work with and gave us a lot of great information.

I went to the seasonal nursery in Worthington today. I got out of my car and the lady working there rolled her eyes and walked to the opposite side of the tent! I looked around a bit while she ignored me and left without buying anything. Really awful service. I won't be back.

Experiences my patio is failing trees were not planned deep enough this place in my opinion is a joke I would never spend another dollar here

***BEWARE NEW VENDORS! Do not believe a word Jeff says. We shipped them a load of trees in April, 2014 that we still haven't received payment for. After shipping 2 semi loads of nursery stock and receiving payment we thought things were going well. We shipped the final semi-load to conclude the order they had with us and still no payment from the 3rd load. ($8,567.50) Almost 5 years later! They simply will not pay. If you sell your product to Darby Creek, plan on not getting paid for it.

I took in a list of about 20 plants to get a price on - I called before I came in to make verify that this was something that they could take care of for me. When I dropped it off, the lady I spoke with said that hopefully they'd get it done the same day and give me a call as soon as it was finished. Three weeks - and 5 or 6 unreturned messages later - I finally spoke to Cheryl (who was supposed to be helping me with this). She was quite abrupt with me and said she still hadn't made time to look at the list I'd given her.
I took this list to two other local nurseries and they were each able to price it for me in about 10 minutes. According to the other prices I've gotten, the plants would total a little over $2000.the fact that Cheryl could not take a small amount of her time to help me out AND make a sizeable sale seemed very unprofessional.

Do not use for sprinkler system or patios/steps/retaining walls. We had them do our patio (with retaining walls) and steps (to the tune of $15k) and sprinklers and neither are done correctly. The worst part is you can't reach the owner - we are hearing from others he has this reputation. We have had estimates to repair our patio in the $5-7k range and to correct the issues with the sprinklers in the $500 range.

I would not use them for anything given their customer service failure
