I chose Darwin Dogs and working with Kerry because more obedience training (in the traditional sense) has done very little to help with my dog’s social anxiety. Kerry’s system helped me reframe how I view and interpret my dog’s behavior, and conversely helped me understand how my body language is informing my dog’s actions.

Her knowledge of dog training is abundantly evident, as is her passion for helping dogs and owners form loving and productive bonds. Outside of the training sessions, Kerry has been available to answer any question — big or small — that I have about how to handle any situation I’m currently in with my dog.

My dog’s social anxiety has been drastically reduced in just two weeks of working with Kerry. Importantly, this has required consistency, but not in an unrealistic way that requires my dog and I to have a robotic relationship with military discipline to sustain that success.

And finally, Kerry is just an awesome person and really fun to work with! My only regret on this process has been that I waited so long to consult with an expert. I highly recommend Darwin Dogs to any dog owner!

Kerry is incredibly knowledgeable, and has been doing a great job helping me and my 1.5 year old golden retriever who has problems with reactivity, resource guarding, and leash walking. She does not use e collars, prong collars, or other methods but rather teaches dogs through communication. 10/10 recommend

Kerry approaches dogs and people with respect, patience, and humor. Dog training is really about people training. Kerry told us and showed us what we needed to do and then she gave us lots of opportunities to practice these skills with her guidance. It is astounding how much skill sharing, expertise, and support she can pack into each session.

The pack walks you get free for life are INCREDIBLE! We went not knowing how to walk our foster pup very well and left feeling like walking masters! I’ll be going as often as possible for the experience of being around other dogs and owners are respectful of one another (not to mention the bonus mini training refreshers).

What a game changer this has been for our new family member, cash. We rescued cash at 2 years old 2 weeks ago and he lacked guidance and support. It's been 2 sessions with Kerry and 2 pack walks and our boy has grown so much. I was looking for a humane way to work with him and kerrys method of piloting has far exceeded our expectations. Kerry has really and simply "trained" us how to communicate with our dog. Before working with Kerry, we were on over our head; watching YouTube videos unsure of what was right or wrong. Kerry breaks it down into three simple rules and once you learn and commit to the mantra the rest follows. It is work, but nothing feels better than gaining your dogs trust and confidence in a way they understand. No need to use prong or shock collar, piloting has got us the same outcome but better because he does not fear us. Happy to have found Darwin's dogs!

I am not sure how to express how grateful, thankful, life changing Kerry has been for us - our pack of three dogs and 2 humans was in trouble —. She was not our first trainer — the first did not help our anxious fearful dog - she is patient, kind but most of all exceptional. She came into our home figured out our real issues and is teaching us how to solve our problems in the place we have them, our home! We could not appreciate her more!

To be honest, Kerry’s way of dog piloting didn’t work for my puppy. It’s been a couple of weeks since she came to my house and the few things she showed us, don’t work. I was not expecting the 2 hr experience to be her mostly talking/telling stories that can be read on her website. I was expecting more hands on experience, which was very, very limited. I was disappointed.
UPDATE: I received your email on 4/10/23 and quickly replied and followed up with a phone call where I left you a voice mail and didn’t receive a response. We are going in a different direction.

Highly recommend Kerry. Our new golden puppy was pretty much scared of the entire outside world and I honestly didn’t know if anyone could help. Kerry was amazing and after only a few days I’m already seeing a huge difference. She was not only amazing with both my dogs, she had me laughing the entire time. She answered any and all questions I had and I’m not sure who moves her more; Grace and Milo or me. If you are considering a dog trainer, she is the best of the best.

Training with Kerry has been the best decision I could have made for my dog. I am so much more confident in my communication with my dog, and know so much better what works for him and me! Go for it. You won’t regret it.

I cannot recommend Darwin Dogs enough! We had one one on one session with Kerry and all of our concerns were corrected in that mere two hour session. Our dog is a whole new guy in the best way after all we learned. Kerry was fun, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept us laughing through the whole session. She gave me back confidence with walking my big dog and I am so thankful! We can't wait to take Doug to a pack walk and keep piloting him together.
