My favorite place to get ice cream. I have been going since I was a child and now am taking my children! It's home.

Really nice place to get a homemade ice cream treat and sit to enjoy your day and the beautiful town of Deersville. Very quaint and country rolled into one. The store has souvenirs, camping supplies, fishing last minute items. You will be taken back to an old general store as you walk around and the folks are nice and helpful. It's worth going out of route off highway 800 to visit them. Sign the book at the register.

Great small town store, has a bit of everything. Great ice cream selection if you are in the mood for a bowl or cone. Offers a variety of food and special offers on the weekend!

Can we get some more stars please? This place is FANTASTIC! The staff were all friendly. One of the ladies that worked there gave me a little history lesson about the building and even gave me a behind the scenes look at the antique ice cream machines that are still in use today. This store has been around for a very long time and is so charming. There's a bit of everything. From delicious ice cream to tools, hot foods to camping supplies. They even have a gas pump. It was right next door to our airbnb. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

We came here while their card reader was down due to bad winds. They told us to pick up whatever we needed and took our card info so they could charge us later, which they didn’t have to do and we really appreciated that.

We also happened to come on their customer appreciation day and they had free drinks, hot dogs, and baked beans.

The homemade ice cream was great too!

Everyone who worked there and the owner were super kind and going there was a highlight on me and my boyfriend’s anniversary trip.

Great place. Just wish they’d update their hours accordingly. They are open until 7pm on weekends apparently and I wasn’t aware. The internet says 9pm.

We love this place. Built around 1865 and has the BEST ice cream around! So much fun stepping back in time

Our good neighbors took us to get some ice cream! It was a nice day (in January). The ride was nice-beautiful countryside.
Nice variety of flavors of ice cream! Ice cream is piled high on the cones.
Definitely a repeat visit! Our neighbors said vacationers really frequent the Deersville General Store.

Just came back from a winter retreat at an air BnB in Deersville, and I have to say, this little general store is one of the best I’ve visited! Granted, they were pretty much the only game in town, but I would be a repeat customer here even if they were competing with DOZENS of other small mini-markets, delis, or pizza places here in Columbus! (This isn’t mentioning their ice-cream, which was OUTSTANDING! … worth an out of the way trip in and of itself!)

Thank you Deersville General Store! You’re 2 hours away, but I have a feeling we’ll be back a few times a year!

I was excited to try this place after a day of cycling on the Conotton Creek Trail. A business that makes its own small batch ice cream is always worth checking out. It's undoubtedly a unique and interesting business with an immersive, nostalgic atmosphere, so that's worth a star or two. The chocolate crunch ice cream I ordered, was unbelievably cheap, less than $3 for two scoops, and it tasted great, with a unique and complex flavor like I've never tasted in any commercial ice cream before. The texture, however, left a lot to be desired. Instead of being smooth and creamy, the texture was almost icy, more like eating a cheap popsicle than ice cream. I didn't mind this much, because the flavor was so amazing and unique, but with a couple bites left, I found a hair at the bottom of the Styrofoam bowl. While I'm a hairy guy that has been known to shed, this hair was different from my own in terms of length and color, so I can definitively say I was not its source. This grossed me out a little, having eaten most of the ice cream already. I threw out what was left, and took my leave, mildly disappointed and disgusted.

Here's the thing though: The ice cream tasted so good, that I barely minded the texture, and I'm willing to forgive and forget the hair and give them another shot on my next visit to the area. Despite everything, I can't get the flavor out of my head.

Didn't have what I needed that would have been ok, but the staff was barely friendly. Gave them a 3 because it was a cute set up, cute rustic items.
