I spoke with several companies before picking Dempsey Auctions. This is a firm you can trust to do a great job! I used them TWICE! They were very punctual, returned phone calls promptly and delivered precisely the business result I expected. They left both houses extremely clean, maximized the value of saleable items and communicated with me regularly after auctions until closure. I would definitely use them again!

There is something for everyone with variations from week to week. The honesty in which they run the auction with is consistent and I can't say that about many auction houses! Also moves at a fast pace, which I like.

Always find something I want. Auction doesn't take all night. Friendly staff and good food.

If I could give a zero start review I would! We contacted Dempsey to try and get a good price for collecties and larger items from my in-laws estate. We were very wrong to trust this place. We got an itemized list of what sold for what price. The crook sold a 500.00+ new freezer for 25.00. Antique cedar chest for 5.00 huge.most big stuff went for 2.00,3.00. HE GAVE OUR STUFF AWAY! Then we had 2-3 pages of "general table items" we have no idea what they were. We thought he was working for US and would get the best possible price.that was not the case. PLEASE NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE! It has made our whole family sick that we trusted this man. I could definately believe that they would sell stuff to family cheap. He does NOT WORK FOR THE CUSTOMER!

The Loading docks are usually blocked. The only other way out is through smoking people down a long narrow congested ramp. If you buy something heavy because of the loading dock problem it is a lot of extra work. The Auction workers often bid on items for their booths in the mall which is connected to the auction hall. This is not illegal but they don’t have to figure out how to get their things out which gives them an distinct advantage. This auction charges 3 % to take your personal check which is almost unheard of. If you bring cash to save the 3%, the auction is in the back of an old strip mall and some places in the parking lot are not well lit. This Definitely made me uncomfortable.
The auctioneer is polite but needs to be more understanding of what his customers go through to bid at his auction. A better sense of fairness would be helpful.
The inside of the auction is organized well but the extra charges on your bill for personal checks and the feeling of trying to survive the removal of your purchased items make this place a last choice for me unfortunately.

Having just recently unloaded a van load of relatively heavy valuable merchandise for consignment, just as my helper and l were about to finish the last box, my helper, having attempted to slip a battery charger under the huge garage door just before Dennis closed it, ended up having his hand crushed between the door and the charger. Dennis's response? In a fit of rage not heard of since the beginning of man-kind, we were ordered to remove our entire load else he (Dennis) would toss it into the parking lot in lieu of calling the police for littering. I should note, my helper Sergio is one of the kindest persons I know. He knew he should have known better, but had not the expectation Dennis would react in such an inappropriate manner. Did Dennis even care about my helpers hand? Absolutely not given his fit of outright lunacy. My friend Sergio, BTW, is hard of hearing and thus had no idea Dennis was about to close the garage door. Worse yet, having been ordered to remove our (my) merchandise from Dennis's auction, Sergio now feels he is responsible for my losing the sale of all my items. And this, a guy who despite his hearing loss, and as a result appears a bit lacking in constitution at times, is fluent in six languages. Which makes me wonder what Dennis is fluent in besides being one huge a**hole? Oh, Dennis also ordered we not return until next year. Don't worry Dennis, i'm sure it will be a lot longer than that.

Furthermore, and this in response to i'm assuming is 'Dennis's' response to my review, is we carried not one "refurbished old motor or tools". We did, however, carry in several good used U. S.manufactured automotive hand tools pre-sorted for the auctions convenience. Also brought in, were several vintage collectible items known to be popular amongst the bidding crowd. (I should know, i've been consigning auctions for over 35 years) I also know many who attend Dempsey's auction both personally, and as acquaintances. As for Dennis getting his foot slammed into a door drawing blood. Just how could that have occurred with myself and my helper standing 5ft below your garage door? Face it Dennis, you just made that up (lied), you arrogant SOB. By the way, you can see all our consignment items at Heavens auction house at 2720 W. 19 St. Ashtabula, Oh. Matter of speaking, you can find many of my other consignment items at several other auctions as well. One things for certain though, never again will they show up at yours. Thank you.

GARAGE SALE LEFT OVER JUNK. MOST OF THE HELP ARE CLOSE RELATIVES. THE HIDE ANYTHING GOOD THAT RARELY SHOWS UP AND HIDES IT IN DIFFERENT LOTS SO THEY CAN BUY CHEAP. STAFF IS VERY UNFRIENDLY.
