Dirko's Pizza reviews
16I love the pizza and stromboli here, both are great every time. I caution against getting any of the sides from the munchy menu on the website. I ordered the Mac and Cheese Wedges, which are average in taste and you only get 6 pieces for $7, not worth the price at all. Other than that small hiccup, Dirko's is a great experience every time I get it.
One of our two favorite pizza places in Knox Co! Absolutely love their pizza, and they have the best Stromboli we've ever had. Their chicken wings are huge, plump, and delicious. We end up ordering from them around twice a month.
Great thin crust pizza and the sauce tastes like pizza sauce should- good! Ordered 2 xl pizzas, one with 1/2 banana pepper 1/2 mushroom and the other pepperoni. I got takeout but they do have a cute seating area with friendly staff! The 2 for $24 special you see in the photos does not exist anymore. I paid $36 for 2 xl but will order again!
Bought a $17 pepperoni and mushroom pizza there on 12/8/23. Maybe the worst pizza I have ever eaten including frozen. Crust was almost inedible and tasted like cardboard. Was not burnt, just plain awful crust. Never again! Back to Domino's for $6.99 that are 10 times better.
It's my favorite "kitchen sink" pizza. In fact, with the exception of an occasional calzone or family sized spaghetti, that is my go to pizza from here. Never had it delivered, always pick it up. Good folks, good food
The best! Longtime customer, I go way back to when they were on Cleveland Ave. You won't be disappointed. Two thumbs way up
I was under the impression I ordered a deep dish pepperoni pizza and it actually looked like a thin crust pizza with cheese. In all reality the cheese was thicker than the pizza. I counted 2 pepperonis on the 1 slice.
I have ordered there several times, and always my pizza has been correct and hot. When picked up it has always been ready.
Always amazing food sometimes hard to even get your order in but worth the wait every time
Tried lasagna, not. Watery sauce, meat was tuff for such a small granules, I'd pass and
Stick with their pizza.
I was looking forward to eating pizza and stromboli from a pizza joint with a 4.7 star rating, but was quickly disappointed. A 45-60 minute wait to pick-up pizza at a delivery/pick-up only place should have meant a busy parking lot. Not a single vehicle in the lot when I arrived. Okay, so it will be busy inside. No, both people are sitting on stools and our meals are in the warmer. Did I miss something? 45-60 minutes and I'm there at the 50-minute mark. Okay, the food has to be the redeeming quality. The stromboli was good, but not outstanding as previous reviewers mentioned. (I've had better back elsewhere.) And the pizza was marginal.basic at best. Again, I've had better elsewhere. Bottom line - not worthy of 4.7 stars. Average for me = 3 stars. Sorry folks, I wanted to like it more but.
Worst Italian subs ever. I ordered 2 and
Both the same
. Don't ever order them again. First ones has dressing.and extra dressing. On the side
Ordered they said 35 minutes to pick up. 35 minutes later it was Hot and in my hands ready to eat. Was great tasting Would recommend highly.
Called to order a pizza and it's 10: 48… says they close at 11: 00. They told me they were closed. It happened again 5/20/23, called at 10: 50 and they closed early.don't bother trying to order late at night.
A Mount Vernon favorite; Dirko's reputation is built on their famous stromboli. Due to the shop's popularity, you can expect busy Friday nights and longer wait times. However, Dirko's staff manage to take and turnout orders quickly. The quality is high and flavors are consistent. Prices have climbed steadily over the years but remain within the ballpark for similar products in town. I definitely recommend!
Me and my husband would frequent Dirkos when we lived in Mount Vernon 4 years ago. We moved to another state in 2019 and anytime we get wings from somewhere around where we live he ALWAYS says 'I miss Dirkos. ' We were in town over the weekend and he wanted to go, I was worried since it had been 4 years but he was definitely not disappointed. He put the wings in a hot bag and brought them back with us 4 hours and even with sitting for all that time he was still SO happy with them.
I would always get a stromboli with mushrooms and pepperoni so I of course went with my favorite, it too definitely did not disappoint. It was very quickly eaten during the car ride home and I actually got a little sad once it was gone.
The prices are still insanely good for the quality and quantity you get from Dirkos just as it was before.
Even 4 years later Dirkos is doing what they do best and me and my husband look forward to being able to stop again the next time we're up in Mt Vernon!
