Dollar General, Johnstown OH

Almost always busy. Staff does their best to keep shelves stocked. Definitely bring a mask it is tight quarters most of the time. The staff is very helpful they may not have everything but try their best with what they have.

Yes I agree with many other's assessment of this store. Messy and the customer service is hit or miss at best.

Another thing to keep a close eye on is the fact that the prices on the shelves don't always match what comes up on the register. Often! Today I corrected them once again and the lady with the mean, pinched little face says "Well I don't know the prices" as if that is part of her job description. Oh wait, it is!

Probably the biggest hurdle this store has is that it is right next door to Troyer's, where the customer service couldn't possibly be better, the store is always kept clean and orderly and the prices are always correct at the register. Going from there to DG is like getting dressed up for a nice dinner and then stumbling into a pool of raw sewage.

Unfortunately these cookie cutter stores will always survive somehow, due to consumer apathy if nothing else. One hopes that reviews like these are taken seriously enough that attempts to improve are made. Meanwhile enjoy perusing down cluttered and cramped aisles, triple checking your receipt totals and struggling to resist the urge to strangle the soulless hag behind the counter.

P. S. By the way the prices are not a bargain at any DG. The prices are lower because the portions are smaller. It's a sly little trick but that is all it is, a trick. You are way better off at Kroger down the street. If Troyer's wasn't next door and this was a quick place to grab odds and ends I doubt this store would last a month.

Good store, but the way they leave all the stock carts in the wiles, is dangerous. There were at least 6 in the aisles today.

I was there apparently when a store/merchandise inventory audit was in place. I mistakenly asked one of the auditors when something would be back in stock, he rudely replied he did not work there, he didn't know, and find someone who did work there and ask them. Excuse me! I must have messed up his count

This is the store in Johnstown and the employees there are great however like many of the Dollar General stores they are understaffed at all times. Need more employees on duty to put merchandise away. It can't be sold if it's still stacked on a gondola. Leaving only one employee on duty in these stores is not safe. This is a busy store.

Seems to be a bit pricey on some of the cold foods.
Don't like the set up of registers.
Need to do a complete remodel of this store done by a professional company that knows how to do a layout of all aisles and food section. Store would look much better as long as the employees that work there care enough to keep it clean and in order!

The floor staff worked hard but seemed to be a little short on help. Good selection and pretty good pricing.

To many shoplifters.people that own gas stations go and take all the pop then sell it over priced at their stores, so there's nothing left for honest customers

I don't shop here a lot but I needed an Iced Tea Pitcher and found a really nice one for a great price!

New management has really cleaned this store up! Everything is neat and clean & organized. A much needed improvement from what it was. Kudos to them!

Wish they would employee more staff. It's crazy sometimes one person is trying to stalk/clean/run cash register with how busy they are.
