Dollar General, Toledo OH

This stores employees are always putting handwritten notes on the doors saying their closed early for no apparent reason. The first couple times I just let it go but now it’s becoming a regular occurrence. Even when the store is open it’s consistently unorganized and nobody seems to ever be working on the walls of boxes lining the floors in front of the shelves.

Always a long line at cash register, see people just walking out every time I'm here.

Update as on 6/18/22 closed all week due to broken A/C yet there are factory workers that work in this heat…

This store has lots of items even some grocery items now. Like bananas etc. But often has stuff misplaced around the store. (Like ppl picking stuff up & setting back down in different spot) I dont think they go around and straighten regularly. Staff is very nice though. The one thing I did notice is that online says they carry specific items but when you go into that location they do not. That is highly frustrating. Especially when you're looking for specific stuff and online it says only certain places carry them. Prices are decent but there are times that the lines get long and they only have one register open. Other than that it's a good place to go to get things to avoid going to a big grocery store etc.

This location is more convenient but I prefer the Miracle Mile location; they're friendly and more organized.

Very rude customer service! The last 4 times I have been there, Kristen is horribly rude and aggressive!

The lady who checked me out at the register was very rude. I understand if you have had a bad day but, don’t take it out on customers. I’ll be avoiding this dollar general in the future.

Rudest staff I’ve encountered in a long time, my suggestion would be to not work in a customer facing position if you don’t have simple manners or the ability to simply greet a customer as you are checking them out. Tried to purchase a case of water, it started leaking everywhere…went to get another and had the same problem. Instead of assisting the staff was rude and said, “would you like a bag so you can stop leaking everywhere? ” rather than working to solve the problem. No one likes working, but it is part of life, get a new job if you are going to be that miserable to strangers.

It's a descent store the one on laskey and secor has more friendly staff and cleaner but they have more clothes so aeeeeeill stick to laskey and secor

I have shopped at Monnette's for many years. Always a good selection of fruit and vegetables as well as things from the deli department. Unfortunately the property has been closed and the new owners are expected to remodel and reopen soon. Looking forward to that.

I can always count on this Dollar General to have the next year calenders, they are the perfect size for, purse, work truck and home, also I get the ones that had Bible scriptures, Thank You.

The Black Lady That Works There Is Very Rude and Unprofessional. I apologise for addressing her as the Black Lady. I would have used her name had she wore her name tag. However she was going to ring up my merchandise with the same gloves that she used for the previous customer's before me. I asked for her to not use those gloves and then she asked me how was my items going to be rung up? Then she said we could have went to the other dollar general up the street. I should not have to go out of my way to go somewhere else just because certain employee's do not want to do their job properly. This is the 2nd time and she even mentioned that she recognized me from the last time I requested that she change her gloves. So I honestly feel that she did it all to try and start a confrontation with the costumer who is patronizing that store. Also I have seen her work numerous of times not wearing the gloves when other employees are working. Unexceptionable. Horrible

I really like General Dollar. They have a great variety of merchandise and low prices. I just wish they were faster at the checkout counter.

I stopped at this store this afternoon with my granddaughter and her month old baby. She went in to get Tootsie Rolls. While I waited in the car I watched 2 employees standing by an employee pickup truck smoking. I'm a smoker myself so that's not my complaint.
The problem is that I watched 4 other customers enter the store, within view of the workers. After 15 minutes my granddaughter came out with nothing and said she waited at the register the entire time, while the storeroom door was open. There were no employees to be seen in the store.
The employees eventually finished their smoke break. The heavyset woman drove away and the bald man wandered back into the store.
I have pictures. Also, I probably wouldn't have been watching but the man had pushed carts into the store while he was smoking a cigarette. He actually stepped into the store to do it.
I hope that someone trains these people in customer service. They certainly need it.

I'm poor and generally speaking many items are close to a dollar or cheaper than the other places. Probably involves sweat shop labor somewhere along the way. Follow the money.

The store is always a mess. The aisles are blocked with racks of items that go on the shelves. Checking out would be faster if the employee's weren't hanging out on the office. It's also rude for employees to take personal phone calls while cashing out customers.

This dollar general is NEVER fully stocked or neat. Every single time I go in here, no matter the day or time there are carts full of items blocking every aisle.

Store is always a mess boxes everywhere seems to only have 1or 2 employees.shevels are empty aisles full of boxes of products.

Was ok downside was one of the customers had a real bad smell that almost made me gag but all in all they might want to reconfigure how there freight comes in very cluttered throughout the store

This place is always far too cramped with stocking carts and boxes it's difficult to get down the aisles. Always a line at check out.

Store was clean and they had almost everything I was looking for. When I went to check out there was no cashier. There were 3 of us in line before finally a customer walked to the side and caught the attention of someone in the office. That person came out and checked us out.
